Shadows of Luclinwe know from the shaded hopperhide armor that the no rent xakra kel armor needs a spirit anchor(the needle) and hoperhide armor to make it a usable non norent item. now, the lore on the makilu mail that the gor taku is "rank two spirit anchor" (incidentlay the lore on the holpa armor lores as "rank two anchor" spirt not being listed) im trying to get matching pieces of xakra dat and makilu and see if i can combine them. ive ony a few makilu but no xakra dat as yet. also have all the holpa, aside from boots, might be a three way combine. of course, it could all be nothing and im just wasting my time LOL

Has anyone tried using the mail the drops off the loda kei and combining it with some sort of smithing hammer in either the shar vahl or shadeweavers forges? or what is the anvil that aerowen referred to, I would say that might be the ticket.

Has anyone tried combining this using the items from the Shar Vahl progressive smithing quests? You receive an anvil that Master Barkhem refers to as a "spirit anchor", just like the needles that fix Xakra Kel armor for tailors. Considering that you work with other "shadow" items in the smithing quests, it seems likely that one of these items will combine Xakra Dat to a mundane piece of armor to yield some nice newbie armor. Follow up with notes here on successes and failures if you give it a try.

Has someone seen a shield drop from mobs... this in connection with the wispering quest ??
Some of these posts don't make sense. a Xakra Kel Shirt is used to make Shaded leather, which is combined with tattered hopperhide, along with tiamon aroo's special needle.
This item here is Xakra Kel Mail. 'Mail' being the difference. Is this perhaps a Shaded chain? Whom would be able to actually confirm this?

Picked up the xakra date guantlets last night and first tried to combine with tattered equivalent. Looking at the armor, the only solution I can come up with is that it is combined in a forge somehow. There are Gor Taku forges in the caves in shadeweaver but so far I haven't figured out a combine recipy so the mystery continues.

The armour that drops of the Lesser Shades can be combined with tattered hoppperhide armour ..

The skellies in shadeweaver also drop no rent items that are bound by a special needle to existing tattered leather pieces. This looks like it may be along the same lines but chain rather than leather. I'd look for new quest NPCs and any additional quests added to the zone. There are a lot of recipes that were meant to go in right away when Luclin went in but were put on hold for whatever reason, this may be another one.

Until now, I have not seen this drop other than off of Shak Dratha shadeweavers. Since the hunter spawns in the same location, it seems reasonable to have him drop it as well. Both spawn in the tunnel complex between the end of the north road, and the entrance to Paludal.
Although this armor is NO RENT, clues seem to indicate that it can, somehow, be made permanent perhaps in a similar fashion to xakra kel.
If anyone can figure out how to convert this from no rent, please let everyone know.
