I paid 9k on Fennin Ro for the 9 items needed to make this earring.

I took the 9 items and placed them in a forge. With a skill of 0, I clicked combine, and the earing (and spell) appeared on my cursor.

At this point, I did something REAAAAAAAAAAALLY STOOOOPID and placed the earing and spell back in the forge (I thought it was one of my bags). This cause the items to poof and my head to pound on the wall in agony.

Six hours later, a very generous and understanding GM restored my items.

Please don't make the same mistake I made.

They list the item as Level to Attain: 51 cause thats when the effect works for you and you get full use of stats. How they have you listed as Scholar is beyond me as you have proberly never had a real thought abut anything. Think before you post flaming people.

Read his post carefully. He says an Allakhazam's site POST. He is replying to the guy who said it is not usable at lvl 1.

This earring IS equippable at lvl 1. There is some debate as to whether the flowing thought works at lvl 1, but in my experience, it "seems" to. I didn't use times, but mana seemed to come back faster with the earring.

I DO know that the DL port in the Xanthe earring works at 44. Not lvl 1, yet not lvl 51 either. Go figure.

The Earring will only give the listed stats at level 51. Prior to level 51 if you have the item or look at it you'll notice other stats in red text next to the full stats. Those red stats are what you would get if you wore the item at your current level. Sometimes, and I'm not sure about this earring, you can't even wear the item unless you have the minimum level.

I see the recommended level is 51...can your level 1 cleric still equip this? Does FT1 still work? and are u saying that the ear gives only +1 to all the stats listed if u r not of the reccommended level?

The stats are reudced by how far below the recommended level you are. So a lvl 25 would get half stats, while a lvl 49 would get almost all the stats, and at lvl 51 you get all.

I have heard conflicting reports on whether the ft1 works, but I do know the port on the druid earring works at lvl 44, while the rec level is 51.

# Mar 14 2003 at 2:39 PM Rating: Default
Ok people. The earring can be worn by ANYONE, ANY LVL. Flowing Thought 1 works at ANY lvl, as do all worn effects. The stats will be reduced depending on your level, but if you wanna waste your money for a lvl 1. Go ahead. :-P Just thought I'd clear that up. :-)

An augmented version of this item was given to me last night. It is SO nice to meditate faster. My shaman was level 10 but this earring helped my mana come back A LOT faster. So I agree with the person above me that this earring is good for anyone that casts a lot of spells. (I play on Firiona Vie server btw)

Seems to be common item among the well healed rangers on Dri
# Oct 21 2002 at 5:35 PM Rating: Excellent
Aloha all

On the Drinal server, the price has been holding at about 9000pp for the last several months. For the ranger of moderate to mid range wealth, this item is a bargin

Several months ago, I had looked around at my fellow warder friends at the time and they all had one, so I invested the 11k at the time into this item. I have been pleased with the HP MANA and the stats (which translate into more hp and mana) that this fellow has given me.

I know that on my server there are several chaps who make a modest income from doing nothing but selling these earings to the needy. From the initial trade of PP for the POTC items, they will walk you through the quest until you are wearing your earing.

If 9k is out of your price range, you could take it upon yourself to knock down the price by collecting up some of the items. Go to PoG (if not KOS) and forage up some Planer oak for example. Bringing your craftsman a large pile of raw materials will generally knock a large portion of your bill off.

As for races and faiths, I have seen people of all colours (Dark eles too) and creeds (even a necro and SK) wearing this lovely item. It is level based however, so below level 51 you will see diminishing results. I do not know at what level the FT1 kicks in, but I would presume it is level 51.

Happy hunting and questing

By the way, on the FV server you CAN sell this and all other items that would be no drop on the blue servers with some minor exceptions (epic pieces notably). They are for sale in the bazaar every day. Usually from 7-10kpp.
Silly goose ...
# Oct 25 2002 at 1:14 PM Rating: Good
Silly goose. You can not purchase the item that is correct. However, there are people who have the skills to craft the 8 or 9 droppable items. Purchase these items from the craftsmen, and then (having spent your 8-10000 pp with them) they will happily show you the location of the nearest forge, hold your hand while you hit the combine button, and then cheerfully escort you to Fungus Grove to point out the NPC to whom you pass over the item to. These people live off their reputation of customer service, and are more than willing to walk you through every step of the way.

Happy questing

Got this for my 16th level toon today, didn’t have any faction problems even though the quest NPC was apprehensive to me.

Couple things that took me a bit to figure out:
Put all the items in a non-race forge and combine them to get the Druid earring. Turn this into the quest NPC to receive the Earring of Solstice.

At 21th level the earring has raised mana and hit points to one above my level but is staying at 2AC 3int/wis so far. I cannot tell if the flowing thought 1 is scaled down or not working at all, my guess it doesn’t kick in until 51st level.

Hope this helps.

FT1 is godly at levels below 39. Remember, before you get to enjoy C1, you are regening only 2 per tick from Breeze plus maybe 1 or 2 more from sit regen at low levels. Pop on Ft1, you now have 25%-50% more mana regen.

At high levels, you have around 10 mana per tick from sit regen. 4-5 from C1, or 11 from C2, or 14 from C3. FT1 is only helping you regen maybe 5-7% faster.

You should DEFINITELY get this as early as possible to twink yourself.

The FT 15 cap has been lifted. This may be due to Verant's vision of new high end encounters not being endurance fights (less boss mob HPs, faster fights.) Lifting the cap doesnt change the high end raids all that much for PoP is my guess.

Now I'm find most of the compentant and having the GM trade skillers in my guild make me the piece and it looks like it is going to cost me about 2k, but I've spent 4 hours so far collecting the goods. So if it comes down to a question of time vs money. Oh i'm on the drinal server too.

But I wont waste the time if I can't equip it before 51, as I am only 34 with the character I want to buy it for.

Slightly offtopic but...

You have to be very careful anymore about what has a "Recommended" level and what has a "Required" level.

A friend of mine saw a Staff of Primordial Summoning really cheap in the bazaar and knew I would drool as soon as I equipped it on my 36 mage (at the time). The description said "Recommended Level of 51" with all the downgraded stats that I could equip it for at my level and everything.

WRONG!!! Couldn't equip it for anything. Petitioned, sent a bug report, and sent an email to Sony. Finally, 3 or more weeks later without word or apology for the mistake on their part, Sony changed the description to read the actual Required level of 51.

Moral of the story: you can't always trust the stats listed, things get nerfed, and they don't always update the item correctly.

Just 2 more yellow bubbles and after 15 levels of waiting I will be able to wield it.

You could easily do this quest solo, if ALL of your tradeskills were as high as possible (one at 250, the others at 200).

I made my own Sickle with 201 smithing and a geerlock. (took 10 tries, about same cost as buying one)

Been skilling up baking using the lucky cabbages (which only trivial at 188, btw).

I bought the misty picinc, but only because it seemed like too much of a pain to do the runaround, when the picnics only cost 40pp each.

The rest of the stuff is pretty cheap to attempt, except for the Idol.

RE: Minimum Skill levels needed?
# Sep 13 2002 at 10:36 AM Rating: Default
Yes, a guild with highly-skilled craftspeople could build "packages" for their members. The gifts are tradable, and sell for various amounts on different servers. I have a level 24 enchanter that I used to make Misty Thicket picnics with a skill of 153... Out of 20 combines, I was lucky and got 1. I think most of the trivials on each of the gifts are greater than 250, so you'll want to use Grand Master tradeskillers.

Sadly, a HARD CAP was placed on mana regeneration via worn items with the patch most recent to this posting. The limit is now 15 points of mana regeneration. This cap not only applies to Flowing Though, but also to effects such as "Zephyr of Brell," etc etc.

A discussion and logs proving this can be found here: http://www.fohguild.org/forums/showthread.php?s=928658e3466544a1fb59e06c80f44787&threadid=1543

Team Effort
# Jun 11 2002 at 5:19 PM Rating: Excellent
Hi there:)

I would just like to acknowledge the effort of the many many people who took part in deciphering this quest. Tons of people from EqTraders, EqDruids, and the Druid's Grove (amongst others I am sure) spent a lot of time and effort, reporting things as they found them, in the interests of helping the tradeskill community as a whole.

There were people who translated the texts into common so that others could read them. Other people speculated the possible recipes from the riddles in the common language. Still others tested those recipes time and again and reported their findings.

I was only one of many people who helped in the solving of this quest, and while I was the first to report a few of the item recipes, and the first to complete the quest I would not have succeeded without the generous help of others, and their insights into the available information.

This quest has been the most exciting thing I have had the priviledge to be a part of since I began playing Everquest, and it shows what the player community is capable of when it pulls together.

Verant deserve a big grats for coming up with something like this, that has worked out for everyone so well (both earrings are great, the Solstice even for non-casters), and the players deserve an even bigger grats for helping one another to complete what is one of the most fabulous quests ever devised.
