on the fennin server depending on the slot are selling from 29K up to 60K so that makes this a very good quest for someone that hasn't reached the Highend of the Game yet.

this quest from beginning to end all in a packaged kit is selling from 4K to 5K now depending ont he person. If you don't have your trade skills it will cost way more to raise them all up. If you buy the items in the bazaar depending on luck you may get them for more or less. I bought it on fennin for 4K and the seller provided me with all supplies and took me to all locations and we were finished in about 15 minutes.

Got this myself for about 4500 PP. Took awhile to find the Mistletoe cutting sickle. The other componets I found with no problem.

That's not exactly how it works... yes, you don't get the full stats until 51, but at 42 the stats are still pretty good: AC:4, STA:+4, WIS:+6, INT:+6...

Has a recommended level of 51, so at level 1 you're not going to get very much of the stats (at like lvl 25, you'll get half of them).

Also the flowing thought effect won't work until level 51.

Edit: NM, yes you will get the flowing thought effect at level 1 (becuase it's a WORN effect; no permanent worn effects have a minimum level. For example, the singing steel gauntlets give enduring breath to bards at lvl 1). If you wear this at lvl 1, you won't get much of the stats, but will still get FT1.

Edited my post, hehe. Right-click effects will not work on an item if you're below the recommended level. However, permanent worn effects will, which the FT1 effect on this earring is. So yes, you can get FT1 on this item at any level, but won't get full stats below 51.

Hungry Traders
# May 16 2003 at 11:54 AM Rating: Decent
Since I'm in Trade mode a lot I don't keep food and water on, but heard they fixed it so they wouldn't eat anyways. Made the mistake of buying my solstice food on an empty tunny, trader ate it before I could even bank it(. So just be careful, very expensive piece of pie she had. Make sure you have food to eat when buying items. I guess traders don't eat only when in trader mode, I thought maybe when in bazaar or bag, oh well.

very good advise to give i had a similar expierence and now my first bag is just a back pack that i keep open for ALL my foraged goods to be droped in. i recamend this to any one that can forage. and your grp love it when you say "i have 20 vedegtibles anyone want them??" or water flasks, but dont give the flasks to a monk they weight .5 each a stack of 20 is 10 and thats a ton to a monk.

FYI: The stack will weigh 0.5 whether there is (1) in the stack or (20) in the stack... the number of items in a stack is NOT a multiplier of the weight.

Excuse all,

someone can tell me if 2 items with FT 1 are a total of 2 Mana per tick?
Do FT 1 items stack ? If not do a FT1 item stack with a FT 2 item?

I hope someone can help me.

Thanks all

Focus Effect & Recommended Level
# Apr 25 2003 at 11:02 AM Rating: Decent
I just picked up all the required items for this quest and got my earring, something I am –very- happy about, considering I was upgrading from a Forest Loop. (My poor druid friend cried when I destroyed my Protection from Cabbage spell though, heh)

I’ve heard some say that focus effects, in this case Flowing Thought I, don’t kick in until you hit the recommended level. Can anybody confirm this for me?? Thanks!

Many people miss this about the solstice earring, since the FT1 and mana/wis/int are so nice.

Ignore all that, and you still have a pretty nice melee earring, especially for the price.

I purchased 8 of the nine items for the solstice quest in the bazaar for 2500, then made the sickle myself.

Total cost, about 3200pp. Stats for a melee :

5ac, 5sta, 55hp, 5sv fire, 5 sv cold.

Have not found a comparable earring for sale for less than 14k.

Since this isn't a drop, and supplies are only limited by the speed at which tradeskillers make the 9 gifts, there is no reason to feel bad about giving it to a melee. My warrior now is wearing this earring :)

I agree completely. My 54 warrior has been wearing Orc Fang Earrings since level 10. These would be a nice upgrade. Not a whole lot out there for the ear slot, and the quest is pretty easy to do.

as the poor troll said, don't eat your items. You should put food in your top left hand side backback so you won't accidentally eat anything if you're out of food.

The first time I did the quest, I was curious as a cat. I saw the picnic basket and right clicked on it to see it's contents. wooooops. that was tasty. lol

Lol I've done this quest twice, 1st time around I had all the items in my first bag... that was a mistake. I ate my Lotus Pie. I just laughed about it. But good thing the trader had some more. :-P
#REDACTED, Posted: Mar 06 2003 at 12:25 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) If all I've read is true, then any toon with no tradeskill can just buy the 9 items and combine them with no chance of failure.

shop around for the various parts for this also if you can try and make some of your own.... I saved 5k pp on my server doing that.. much better than paying 9-10k for a MQ on a stick... takes a bit longer however.

Actually the "no fail" forge in Dalnir's only works with a specific quest combine. It doesn't work with regular smithing, I tired Smiley: cry

Components
# Dec 23 2002 at 3:49 PM Rating: Excellent
I love this item (and all the new quest items that require tradeskill components).

You get this item by handing in Xanthe's Earring of Nature (a druid only item) to Rebecca Cabbageleaf at -1447, -805 in Fungus Grove.

You get Xanthe's Earring of Nature by putting 9 items into a forge abd combining (it is a no-fail combine so you don't need smithing for it).

The 9 items are:

Demi-Sec Champagne
Mistleto Cutting Sickle
Golden Idol of Tunare

Blessed Fishing Rod
Ceremonial Solstice Robe
Star Ruby Encrusted Stein

Lotus Pie
Misty Thicket Picnic
Lucky Cabbage

These items are usually available in bazaar for a total of around 5K, results may vary by server(they are all tradeskill items and if you wanted to make them all yourself you would need very high skill in several tradeskills).

I would check in on bazaar every so often to see if anyone is selling any of these items cheap and accumulate the components slowly because you can occassionaly find them being sold cheaply by tradeskillers looking for cash.

Go to www.eqtraders.com and look under quests. They list the 9 gifts along with all the recipes for the gifts should you wish to make them. If you are just looking for a shopping list (after all that's a whole lot of skills)- then here you go:
The Gifts of the Elves
Demi-Sec Champagne
Mistletoe Cutting Sickle
Golden Idol of Tunare
The Gifts of Man
Blessed Fishing Rod
Star Ruby Encrusted Stein
Ceremonial Soltice Robe
The Gifts of the Halflings
Lotus Pie
Misty Thicket Picnic Basket
Lucky Cabbage

Enjoy. :)

Thank you, I'm really bad at quest (a bit lazy – I would rather just kill stuff) and don't have a lot of money, so this shopping list well really help :)
