They award a suffix as follows:
Cat in a Bag: Kittens = suffix, "Kitten Collector" (5 Points)
Cat in a Bag: Cats = suffix, "Cat Collector" (5 Points)
Cat in a Bag: Rare Breeds = suffix, "Rare Cat Collector" (5 Points)
Cat in a Bag: Crazy Cat Collector = suffix, "Crazy Cat Collector" (10 Points)

Doesn't necessarily reward Adoptable Gray Calico Kitten. I just bought this and got Adoptable Tortoise Shell Kitten.

you must actually adopt each cat to get credit. having an adoptable cat in your inventory does not count.
(I just noticed that I didn't actually update this, although happily SCindyee captured an image of the Marketplace entry above.)

thanks :) i would upload a pic of the erudian blue familiar (after adopting) i got but there is no entry for it yet
no, it loses the "adoptable" part and becomes a different item.
