I found this here, too. With a 183 Forage and Nature's Bounty, I was able to scrounge up two of them at once here. The second one was Lore, so I didn't get to keep it ;)

Forage skill of 200, using Foraging Machette gives me a skill of 219. An hour later, I foraged everything in the zone EXCEPT that item. I foraged the Druid Epic item five times. When it's like this, I want to go to San Diego (it's in my state) and kick someone, hard. I'm gonna tell Mom, let Sony deal with SoE and their BS properly. GRRRRRRR.

Having trouble getting the shroom.....It isnt going well, and im frantic sitting in random places(Pok book, island west of book,etc...) trying to foarge it.Still trying, someone help!!!

I sat by the pok book for 2 hours and got nothing, went to the island west of it and got it on the first try.

tried 5 or 6 times by pok book and nothing so went to island to west and on 2nd try i got it and danced like the ranja i am.

Matter of fact i did the exact same thing. Over an hour roaming the zone, this island i got it first try.

Foraged for about 30 minutes then went to island west of PoK book and got in 3 attempts.

As the other posts say, take the Grobb book in PoK, then just start mashing Forage once you're in Innothule Swamp. Took me 2 tries for the mushroom, a lot easier for me than the Sweetened Mud Root. Several rangers are in my guild, none have talked about having much difficulty with this particular foraged item for the epic 1.0. Foraged on May 5, 2006 with a Forage skill of 70.

Zoned in from Grobb Stone and did not move....hit forage and got it first try. Skill was 118 and was holding foraging machete 10% skill increase.

foraged for 15 hours and I still don't have one...I've been all over this zone...I swear this game hates me...it only tooke me 9 attempts to get past the East Karana section...then today while I was in there killing lions I watched a druid make the same mistake I made the first time...and that was even after I gave them advice...

I zoned in from PoK, just went in the water to the east (-699.49 -97.98) and fished and foraged. Took about 7 successful forages and got my shroon. 10/30/2004

FYI no, it does not, the speckled molded mushroom is NO DROP and foraged ONLY. one zone in the game yeilds this piece for the ranger and druid epic 1.0s, and that is Innothule Swamp.

I think it does help if you stay right by the zone line or by the PoK books. I was on my way to do a LDoN adv. and foraged once and got my hardened fruit. Was at the camp in everfrost and got a frozen root on my 2nd attempt. The Rose took one try--inside the tunnels by the PoK book. Hope this helps.

I just got mine a few minutes ago. I originally zoned in from the Freerot 'cause I took wrong stone and had no luck foraging for the 'shroom by the zone line for just over an hour. I then ran around most of the zone killing things for fun for another hour. No luck at all. I then decided to go sit on the island just west of PoK book and on my second forage attempt, ta-da, got the 'shroom. Not sure if this helps, but I am sure you can forage it from that location. Hope this helps.
I did spend hours foraging for one of these some weeks ago before giving up and going back on a killing spree! Just yesterday I decieded to try to collect the four items again. Went to ImSwamp first, as I was close, and got the mushroom on the first try! I couldn't believe it, I had never even been to this zone. Just poped, foraged and boom. Then I went to Misty Thicket for the mudroot. Poped in from POK and started to forage as I practeced some spells. Third tries a charm! About 6 minutes later and I am headed to EF for the Chilled Tundra Root. Found dozens of these as a newby in this zone so it should be a piece of cake....famous last words. Dowh! Couple hours of buffing newbies and no Chilled Tundra Root! Its time for bed! Sniffel...sniffle...... Damn these random counters!

Update:
Started at it agian this morning and within about 10 minutes got the Chilled Tundra Root and headed for G. Gaydark. Popped in at the POK book close to the L. Faydark zone and started to forage. Luck was with me again this morning as I got the Ripened Heart Fruit on the 3rd forage! The only thing that all four foraging runs had in common was that I started at about 6:30 AM Centeral Time and I always stayed right around the POK book or at the enterance of the zone, I never roamed around. Maybe that had something to do with it!? Otherwise I feel very luck to get all the items that quick when I was actually looking from them! P.S. This was with a forage skill of 178-180, got the two points durring the 3 hour process!
