  • This information is out of date. This staff is linked to the second quest that captain Necin gives out (grimling camp #9).

    It is dropped by
    NightKnife Gresga whom spawns after you are done protecting the traitor for a while.

    supposedly it drops from the other 2 camps Necin gives out as well, but I can't confirm that.

    Did camp 9 about 6 times recently.
    No mana regen items.
    Pulled the mobs on Gelg out of the camp to
    get Gelg out of harms way.
    You only need to slay the original 10 mobs in
    camp to get named to spawn. You do not need
    to slay any of the mobs that come running to
    the camp.

    The captain will take you without camps 1 to 6 being done. He took us to 8, then 7, then 9.

    Confirmed tonight that it drops from Camp 9 (nine) - one of Captain Necin's quests. It took two 65 beastlords to successfully control this camp - not because killing the mobs is difficult, but because you need to stop the Traitor from being killed. This can only be done by aggroing all the attackers *immediately*. Also, sometimes you will fail, regardless... ie when the Traitor gets feared and runs through the camp to his doom.

    We successfully killed the named 3 times.
    1st time.... minor items.
    2nd time.... Carved Bark Mask (went to my wizzy alt)
    3rd time.... Acrylia Staff (also to alt) + EB ring.

    For FT1 items, it seems they are surprisingly common drops.

    Just wanted to say that this item actualy droped for us off the named in the 8th camp which was also a Captain Necin quest. The 8th camp is easier because there is noone to save. You can pull the mobs out and kill them untell the named pops and kill him. The Carved bone mask did drop for us on the 9th quest. We had a necro charm the "traitor" who spawns with 5 mobs who attack him (gota keep traitor alive) and the mobs would leave him alone (most times anyway hehe) so we would proceed to kill them. Mask was pretty rare as we repeated the 9th quest quite a few times before we got one. In this time we also got this weapon and the FT1 shd weapon from the 8th camp. I would like to go back with more people and try the 10th camp (FT3 book pure caster only) which aparently is only doable once you complete the first 9 quests and from what I've read is more dificult. Hail the general and say "what camps" to find out what camps have been done and which camps have not. Aparantly once all 9 are done the general does the quest for the 10th.

    Myself and a 65 bst did this entire set of quests. Got this to drop and two BPs with 35 ac, 3 str and couple other stats.
    Just start the quest and single pull everything out to kill it. Of course, all those 24 dingies that tried to raid it got swarmed cause they ran into the camp. Come on...be smart bout stuff like pulling. There is no time limit on the quest once the fighting has started so take your time. Harmony, lull, pacify, whatever and single pull.
    The named mobs that drop the good stuff actually conned light blue to a lvl 60, but everything else was green.

    Harm touches for 391dmg so I'm positive of this. This raid could be done by a guild with 0 players over level 50. It would take a few dozen of them, but it could be done. We had 24 of us level 55+ and had a few casters die cause the mobs started swarming on them.

    I think this is one of those items that people in a "relaxed" or "casual" guild could realistically hope for... rather than waiting 6 months or a year so they can have 1 item with flowing thought.

    I would have to agree with earlier post it would mostly be used during downtimes to regen mana as most casters would need more during combat situations but a decent drop all the same! Just need to know when its appropirate to use

    umm post epic? the grimling raids are used for the beastlord epic (amongst many other things) so surely that would make them *pre* epic?
