Rangers get: A cheap spell they already have (or will easily have in 4 more non-hell levels) by the time they get a Planar+ BP.

Beastlords get: A non-class spell that is completely different from any of their own spells.

Rangers get: Good MR...like most Planar+ BPs. Tiny FR and CR, negligible PR and DR. Unless you get a full set, non-Beastlords get crap resists per piece of armor.

Beastlords get: A reasonable resist boost from armor.

I think it's time Verant went back and evaluated the stats and spells on Planar+ for everyone. And either give rangers a really good spell (Paladins and Clerics save 300+ mana!) or a much shorter casting time.

Uh ranger BP has 43AC!
This one has 20!!!
As in 5 less than a Treeweave.
If anyone were to ***** about this BP I'd think it'd be the BLs, not a ranger.

BALANCE is a peculiar name for that post...
There'd be absolutely no balance at all if Verant caved in to all the people who cry about everything some other class gets, while keeping a blind eye to the trade-offs.

5 less than a Treeweave. And, then, there's the fact that if a Beastlord has aggro in any way, it's on his pet, not himself.

I enjoy your kind of post; it's along the same lines as my watching religious shows. Dumb, but fun to watch anyway.

I was talking solely about the right-click effect and Saves. Poison and Disease are the hardest types of spells to resist, and also the hardest Saves to get equipment for.

As for the effect, I think the fact that most rangers I know, and most I see post about this topic, would rather mem the spell and use 50 mana per cast, than wait 10 seconds per cast, speaks for itself.

Sorry but your oviously clueless about beastlords. We were designed to fight along side our pets, not like casters and just buff them and heal. When we are in melee range the mob will ALWAYS be on us. It does not matter who has the highest hate on the hate list. The longer we can stay in contact with the mob the faster it will die. Beastlords not meleeing lose 50% of their DPS.

*sigh*. I guess I must suck at being a BST - because my Pet *always* outdamages me, melee-wise (well, not at the "border" levels). When I step back and play healer, I prolly lose only 35-40% DPS (since I am still nuking). I just compromise - cast spells, step in until I feel too badly whacked on, back off, and help at the final "kill" stage. If I wanted to sit down and heal my pet, I would have created a Cleric. Oh. Wait. My main *is* a Cleric :)

And on a sideswiping note, beating the proverbial dead horse: PLATE CLASS SS ARMOUR-AC:50+. CHAIN CLASS SS-AC:43+. LEATHER CLASS SS-AC:20. If you wanna whine about AC, then play a warrior. "I wanna have the same AC and damage mitigation as a warrior! And why won't Verant gimme snare and fear too?" Sheesh. The number of AC-rich Leather-class chests is extremely rare (like the Ancient Burrower Hide Tunic)

I'm gonna have to agree on this one, though I tend to live and let live and not cry about stuff like this :) I rarely use the CoE effect of my Forest Stalker BP mainly because the tradeoff of saving 50 whole points of mana isn't worth having to wait 10 seconds for it to cast off the BP... On a raid when i do a lot of buffing that would set me back so bad.

The loss of a spell slot isn't enough to get me using the effect either. Rangers have so many buffs that should be up at all times that I'm constantly swapping spells out regardless.

But on the Beastlord Velious BP's, grats to them. The coat line is a great spell to have on at all times for rangers and druids for the AC boost and the fact that the duration is so long keeping it up isn't a huge problem. If I played a Beast Lord I would love this addition to my self buff line up!

or, druids could just go die
tks
plus, monks have just as much right as a druid to the leather bp if it drops. if ye greedy druidfolk didnt notice, the monk BP does click a heal, for the soloing monk this could be quite a boon, after bandaging to 70%+ and then just clicking your bp til you get full hp. druids already have many advantages, and senority on a leather bp is something they will never, ever get without hard work. SO, just stfu, monks need it just as much as you. and BLs too i guess. if you want the stupid spell that much, then just level yourself and get it.

uhhh dude, hate to break it to ya but if a monk goes on a raid to get loot so he can solo better, he can burn in hell, the BP helps druids tremendously by saving like 2000 mana per cast, and the wis and mana and saves are nice for druids, Beastlords are just plain gimp, and Monks should have a fungi tunic or something anyway, have a nice day

Btw i'm level 55, not 52

such an idiot. What gives a druid more right to the leather bp than a monk? and why should a monk have a fungi tunic by then anyway? are you going to pay the 55k+ for them to purchase it or are you going to camp it with them. If not STFU and let them roll on the bp just like you.

Greedy druids are a bane to society you fricking kids need to leave eq and get out in the real world and learn a thing or two.
