king for monks? im not an expert with monks but my second character was one.. i made him to lvl 20 and axed him.. i got bored =(.. but this thing has a high weight ... 5.0 .... that will take a good portion of your limit away and seriously limit what you can carry as far as loot goes... but i myself would use this if i had nearly enough money to buy one.. it looks good.. just watch the weight more carefully monks!

I have a 17 monk and his total weight is 6 (that includes a backpack full of Food Drink and Shurikans+ Alot of other good monk items) So this wouldn't hurt me to bad.

good monk weap

This is a great weapon for a monk. Its dmg/dly ratio is better than a fighting baton, it procs(which a fighting baton doesn't, even if it IS only around 14 pts of dmg), and its 1-handed blunt. It even gives(woohoo) +3 str. Of course, the big killer is its 5.0 weight, and the fact that its lore. Good for the monk who keeps his weight really low.

Others have said it's an awful weapon for monks... okay, but what if you already had one anyway?

I got bored with the game after making it into the upper 40's and quit playing my main character when he was only one blue bubble away from 49. So, I was able to partially equip a new Iksar monk, and I gave him a brand that I had in the bank.

Being new to my monk, I really didn't know what weapons were out there. So far, I like the brand, but I'm having a hard time finding a secondary weapon that doesn't push me over the 14 stones in weight. What is easy to get (without using my primary to farm) that serves as a lightweight secondary for the brand?

#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 05 2001 at 2:38 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This thing is aweful... 14dd proc or what not its not very good and not anywhere near the value in pp to a monk. 5.0 weight is WAY TOO MUCH weight, and its not that much better on damage delay compared to the fighting baton. If your going to spend 4kpp on this weapon and your a monk save an extra kpp and get a real monk weapon a KD or something 14/28 (1.0 weight)... this sucks for a monk

Sucks for a monk -- weights to much for a monk and ya can find close or the same ratio monk only weapons for less pp

This is an EXCELLENT monk weapon.

I use one on my lvl 25 iksar monk (Hammish, Veeshan server). I use it in my primary and use a bare fist for secondary.

A 14dd proc is good....basically just an additional hit. Altogether, with all my gear, my total weight is only at about 12 (this INCLUDES bags of food and bandages) so the 5wt isn't THAT big of an issue.

Not just an additional hit. Procs give you more taunt than a straight bit of extra damage, just ask any warrior. And well a monk should never taunt the mob of the mt.
just my 2cp

Neat Weap!

Love these things, had it on my 27th bard and it was porcing a 14point dd. Not bad and it looks kool as hell. Now low levels can get a particle weapon, a smokeing torch... I enjoyed it and want to get another.

Been procing for me since like level 14 I believe.

This is pretty dang good for my troll sk. I usually use heavy hitters like my drakkel icegrinder now too at level 22, but the brand is nice when you want to hit something a LOT. Plus It trains my 1 h blunt, dual attack and offense up DANG fast. Mostly I got this as a cheap (was free actually) 1 h blunt trainer for a moss.. but at 6 - 9 k I don't see me getting this char a moss soon. Maybe if I actually get it to 30.

I'm using this at level 25 and it procs for me. The burn spell acts like the level 1 spell "Burst of Flame" and only hits for about 14pts of damage. Still, it's a nice little addition considering the weapon hits so darn fast and I'm a caster.

I just got this for my bard hes 23 and it procs. I was told by a good Friend that it procs at level 1. She uses her shadowknight with it and hes level 3.

I can confirm that it's at least lower than 14. A friend loaned it to me when I started dual weild at 13 with my warrior, and it was proc'ing then. Definitely a fun weapon.

I can say for sure that it procs at least at lvl 4. I found one on a skele just outside the whole that a Ranger had given him to see who would find it first. Lucky me, I found it! It's an awesome weapon for me so far and I love it!
