Got two drops from "a mountain giant craig" in the Frontier Mountains. One was spawning at the giant fort tunnel entrance and the other one was roaming the wilderness. Location does not seem to matter.

The items seem to drop exclusively from pathers. I hunted in the Burynai caves and Giant caves for hours with no drops. I finally found a spot at -3059, 3396, -519 where several pathers cross including a Sarnak Knight and a Burynai Cenobite. Dropped from a Sarnak Knight.

Kill the Craigs in the tunnel(at fort) and you will be in and out in no time(got two in five minutes). The giants in the fort area itself (wasted two hours killing these) is a huge waste of time. I should have been killing the giants in tunnel much sooner.

Yep, wasted 1/2 hr in fort, nothing. Second kill in tunnel, BAM!

Off Brae at the back of the giant fort just now.
Killed there for 3 hours, got nothing, gated and sold, then came back and got 2 within 10 minutes.

Got mine off a Brae at N740 P2740
The Braes and the Craigs in the back of the fort are definitely prime picking for drops. ***** the giants in the front.

I'm having the hardest time getting this loot. Where there any tricks? HAHA, probably not... Sony likes us to grind... GRIND!!!

i love magelo as it shows the % each mob has to drop the items from the mobs.

Well, never mind. I had my pet whomping on a Brae... I alt tab back in and there it is. lol. But it took me like 5 hours. Oh well, have a lot of hill giant toes.

Don't hate me, but, I had a number of these drop while I was camping the Giant Fort. I mean, probably 8 rotted over the course of a couple hours. I guess it goes to show sometimes the RNG smiles, and sometimes it frowns.
However, I have little doubt the next time I'm trying to get some_random_pixel to drop, our positions will be reversed. :-)

Looted from a Sarnak knight, a mountain giant tump, and a burynai cenobite.
I looted this item on 5 characters. 4 came from roaming Mountain Giants of various types and one came from a roaming Sarnak Knight. I camped Giants at the fort for over an hour without success. Same for the static Sarnaks. It was only when I started targeting roamers that I saw the drop. Got 5 in about an hour after I started killing the roamers. I would recommend going after roaming Giants west and north of the Giant Fort in the center.
Drops in Frontier Mountains. Random MOB will morph into a tree, finish it off and loot this. Part of the Udumbara, the flower of Legend quest.
