I dropped this guy south of Splitpaw in South Karana.
I was stunned to see this shield. I thought the shield no longer drops because this mob used to spawn only
in Splitpaw waaaayyy in back of the zone.
I got this shield years ago in like 2003. It has a unique one of a kind griffin logo on it.

I have used his shield on my trading mule for almost 5 years now. As GL for the Gryphon Alliance it is fun to have a shield with a graphic of a griffin on it. Was one of the earliest examples of a shield with an image on it as far as I know.

took him down tonight, yes he was green to me but i am curious and had never fought him b4. He did complete heals on himself when i got him down to around 25% (twice). Did not pull him away from spawn point so every roaming splitpaw gnoll aggro'd on us. Yes I said us a 61 ranger and a 62 druid...:)...just whaling away on him and casting DoT's like we had never ending mana pools. He was green and could not hurt us, but it still took us a 5 full minutes to kill him. The point is of course he was 22 levels below us..if we had been equal or even slightly higher than his L39....HE WOULD HAVE OWNED US...so if he cons DB to you..call for help or walk away :)
