I know nothing about this zone or the mob that drops it. So i was just wondering, could a 40 paladin and a 40 cleric realisticly obtain this? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, so I know where the cave of the rockhopper is. Errr...but where does this guy pop actually?? Somewhere at the beginning or somewhere at the end of the cave? Need the hammer for my alt lvl 25 monk

I believe we found one in front of entrance to ME.
Not bad

The weight on this 2hb weapon makes it great for a monk who didnt get there hands on some other 2hb with better dmg/delay.
mob

BTW: This dropped for me off the head tribal guy in cave. Once he was killed everything respawned to rockhoppers in the cave.

Dropped in DS from the guys near the ME zone. No one else was in zone, so it rotted (no use to me and nodrop).

Luclin is broken, and Trivial Loot Code is why. They basically switched gears late in the the Luclin rollout to remove TLC, and the result is that many items that would make Luclin attractive are either nodrop (I've let so many things rot) or obscenely rare (which really hurts for quests).

I find this to be doubly true for the quest armor. I've now got at least one misc item or mark for every class but monk, and yet I've had only ONE jewel drop. They really need to bump up the drop rate on the jewels so that the armor quests can be completed without hunting long enough that you get to a level where the armor is useless to you!

Yes, if they bump up the drop rate, there will be farming. But as it is, farmers are just about the only ones who CAN complete the quests and derive any benefit (i.e. selling the resulting armor to lower level players).

Personally, I'm not bothering to hunt in Luclin with low-level characters. I'm farming with my high-levels and twinking the lower levels. I'd rather not. Luclin would be a fun place to hunt, but the drops are just too broken.

Oh well, I guess that's what I'm paying that extra $3/mo. for....

Places where I think they did it right: Twilight elementals; UP Elysians. Those are the right risk/effort/reward. Some of the uber-quests/encounters are also nicely done, and I get the sense that that's more where they spent their time... (

So why is nodrop a bad thing? I mean there should be some items that aren't sold. I am thinking that this is one of them. I know I would have a problem with a low lvl ranger or cleric running around with a weapon like this that could easily destroy any mob it encountered.
As for it rotting away, if you are by yourself, that is how it goes. If you aren't, offer it to the community that is there and see if somebody wants it. If I wanted to get this item, I would join a group and try to hunt it. Point is, it makes people work for it or at least have good luck to obtain it, not just plat.

As for hunting Luclin with low level characters, if you aren't, you are missing out. Places like Paludal Caverns and Netherbian Lair are literally banks with open doors. You get constant bronze drops, decent money drops, decent magic items, and rather easy quests. Combine that with XP zones like Marus Seru, DSP, and Shadeweavers Thicket and you have a good formula for getting your characters up to high level quickly and easily. On top of that you are going to end up with a nice bank account and that is always good.
