This named spawns in the 2nd alcove by the mining cart. Any skelleton type mob can be the ph. I camped it one night for 5 hrs and got nothing, came back a few nights later and camped it for 1 hr and it dropped. Its all random.
First thing, there is an excellent guide posted here: http://p201.ezboard.com/fmonklybusiness43508frm2.showMessage?topicID=1242.topic
Second thing, I am level 70, and the 15 second cast puts >ONLY 20 FANGS<, not 35, on my cursor. I own all the expansions, so I have no idea why somebody would get more then 20 per cast. They do stack up to 100 per though.
Now the ugly part... here is my results on the camp. (respawn time is 20 minutes)
1 PH 1 Hilog Jarsath - amulet 17 PH 1 Hilog Jarsath - amulet 2 PH 1 Hilog Jarsath - amulet 3 PH 1 Hilog Jarsath - green stone 1 PH 1 Hilog Jarsath - amulet 1 PH 1 Hilog Jarsath - green stone 2 PH 1 Hilog Jarsath - green stone 1 Hilog Jarsath - green stone 1 Hilog Jarsath - dusty pouch
It took me 36 spawn to get the item, killing Hilog 9 times. (11 hours of "real" time camping)
Just got pouch to drop after 1 ph kill. Only question I have is why this pouch summons only 20 fangs per cast while the Mrylokar's Bracer casts 100 daggers per cast?
The Mrylokar's Bracer uses a player spell to summon the daggers, therefore there can be 100 summoned. The pouch has it's own spell, not one a player has, to summon the fangs making it only able to summon 20 at a time. Just recently, SoE made the player summoning spells summon 100 instead of 20. Up until that time the bracer also summoned only 20 at a time.
I have the pouch and whenever I have a little down time, I will summon some fangs to keep the supply high.
noticed that Hilog has more hps when he has the stran green metal, gotten about 4 metals to drop, and he has about 20k hps, but when its just the stupid necklace he has about 10k, no idea about how many he has when he the pouch

Was down in the mines with a group trying to get the metal for my rogue and had one drop a few days ago on Terris Thule. Not sure on the cycle or anything, becuase we were clearing the entire mine as soon as anything would pop. Got lucky though, dropped the metal and the pouch at the same time after only an hour or so down there. Had cleared the mines for a while a few occasions before with no pouch and only a few metal drops.
Dropped today on the Terris Thule server. I 2 boxed the camp with a 70 shaman and a 56 monk.
I dont know how long its been this way, but most of the skelly's in the mines dont see regular invis anymore. I just invised up and went right to the camp, no prob. There was 1 see invis mob a little further in past the camp but its too far away to agro.
Lucy lists this item as working at level 55, which is incorrect. Before you say its because of the rec level 55 note that there are many items with rec levels that still list effect level as 0 on lucy (ie, works at any level).
anyways... got these today on a level 39 and can confirm that it DOES work at that level. However it only summons 19 fangs and not 20. So I'm assuming this item works at all levels but the amount of fangs summoned will scale as you level (max of 20 obviously).
I got one last night, (4-28-2004), after the patch, on Rodcet Nife. Camped this for 4+ days. The pattern i saw was PH, then Named, PH, then Named, PH, then Named, for days. No item.
Then, on the last day, when i saw PH, PH, PH, *then* Named, the item droped. Not sure if that is the way it always will be, but a definite observation for me. This item produces one stack per cast. This fits/stores in containers/bags, but has to be in inventory to cast.
I just got this fine piece today. Before you all ask no I am not a Rogue nor am I a Monk, just a very happy 63 Beastlord with a skill of 11 at throwing that modestly jumped to 45 after hurling 3 stacks of these babies at the undead. I was awarded my toy after the Paladin and ShadowKnight passed leaving just myslef with a throwing skill to loot. Never been happier to have a crappy skill than that moment I tell you. Anyway with my bogus skill of 11 -45 I was putting out only 30 -50 damage a hit but considering the skill thats not bad at all.
All in all I'm more than happy to have a new clicky toy.
This should never be seen as a I get this over you sort of loot. It should be like everything else open to whoever wishes to bid on it. If noone wants it let it rot it doesn't matter.
Grats to anyone who gets to loot this whether your skill is 200 or just 1.
Its not like anybody is going to be raiding the mines people... if it is a guild group, let them do what they want. If it is a pickup group, they will prolly roll for it between monks and rogues anyways. and btw if you have maxxed throwing skill, these are not bad for a rogue on a ranged encounter, such as TZ. And yes, 40 range blows for pulling
I was in SSRA mines in a group with 2 pet classes and a healer when this item dropped. As the only melee type, I got to loot it by default.
I love this item, even thought paladin's skill in throwing is stuck at 0. The fangs are not no-rent so you don't have to waste time summoning them every time you log on. They have a pretty good range, and nice stats so you don't suffer too much by putting them in your range slot.
The best thing about these is that they are FAST!!! Its crazy how fast you can throw these. A stack of 20 fangs will be spent within 15 seconds... zipzipzipzipzipzipzipzipzipzip stack gone. I would love to see how fast they are on my rogue when factoring her 30% throwing-haste bag and 41% haste cloak. This is definately a fun item to have.
In testing, I was averaging hits in the range of 15~45 with my lame skill of 0 in throwing. This is about as much as a paladin does with a bow and our gimp archery cap of 75 anyway. I don't even carry a bow or quiver around anymore, just this bag and a few stacks of fangs.

Dude, you got no clue... range 40 enough? Sure sure, especially when mobs in Sol Ro have aggro range of like twice that. Or try to pull in elementals or Plane of Time with range 40 ranged items... besides, rogues can use bows. Get real.
As a monk I have to say you are clueless if you are comparing the summoned shurikens of the pouch of quellious to this. 70 range on an item makes a LOT of difference. As a monk that is main puller for my guild I can tell you right now that 70 range can mean alot, some mobs have a giant agro range and you get agro before you ever get in range to throw a 100 range shuriken, and the extra distance helps alot when it comes to being pummeled by a mob on the way back to your group/raid. I'm not sayin a rogue should not get this at all, but to say rogues first/rogues only, is crap man, try pulling sine reak mobs sometime.
All You Rogue people think your so smart, "give them to a rogue and let them go to town with crits and deadly's" well just so you know if a Rogue in a grind group was standing there throwing these the whole time instead of using his BS and normal melee He would be out of the group before you could say "cowpie"
these would probably goto a rogue over a monk, monk's get right click summon shruikens of quelious on their velious leather bracer quests, which most monks will already have.
if they don't, however, this is a required pulling tool and would goto the monk first. IMO, would be stupid for your monk to not have a summon pulling items at this point in the game :P
one question for you....then why would this go to a rogue? as u said this is a pulling tool. summoned shurikens only have a range of 100 and the fangs have a range of 170 hummm looks like an upgrade to me.
rogues get mrylokar's bracer for summoned throwing knives.
Give it to the warrior, cuz they get no summoned range attack items like rogues/monks/rangers do (throwing knives, shurikens, and arrows, respectively).
No, 55 range is worthless for pulling. Rogues in general should not be pulling. Escape AA has far too long of a refresh to make it worthwhile. Monk summoned Shurikens are practically the same.
The allure of these is the range. Monks first, then rogues.
On the positive side, a rogue with CF3 and FotA3 using these was pumping out some impressive crits on PoP mobs. As far as rogues go, this is one of those "fun" items to have, but far from a necessity.
it dropped off down in the mines...from one of the skeletons . each pull you ussaully get like alot of skeletons plus they slow alot ..grrr but hell yah this thing is awesome so what if the cast time is 30 seconds you can really load up on them ..also they throw shissar fangs which are no drop ..so you cant go around handing these things to anyone but what i thought was cool was i could stick it in another bag...very cool item i dig it
