Just bought it in the Bazaar with my Shaman so I don't know if the bonus is still on it it or not.
Paid 25pp so I thought I'd take the chance.

so it dont have stats and can only be used at lvl 51.most of the time im grouped with a 51+ shaman get hos cast on you and a good haste buff and this weapon will hold aggro like you wont believe.and hey guess what thats a warriors job,my 51 war allways keeps aggro i have this in primary and a venomous axe in secondary.fast weapons lots of aggro keep taunting the mob and hey the casters dont get hit,and a caster that dont get hit is a happy caster,look at the price then look at a jade mace,the mace has 1 more dmg and is heavier yet goes for 2k plus.

Anyone know what deity(s) a player needs to wield this sword?
My ranger friend got the 'wrong race or deity' msg when trying to wield.
Or is lvl 51 required to wield? It says 'recommended' not required.

A far as I know, you have to be level 51 to use any of the equipment from the 'new' Cazic-Thule, with the exception (I think) of a shield and maybe another item. And yes, it does still say 'recommended', not required. I think if it could say required, it would.

I know for a fact it's not no drop, a warrior gave it to me just recently. He said I should use it in my primary slot instead of dual wielding two centi ls's. It also says on it, recommend lvl of 51. Ok so it has crap damage, but it's fast, so warriors will be able to keep aggro better. And so far I have been able to do just that. It's not a bad weapon at all, people will just scold it cause it's low damage and adds no extra stats. Well now that I have one, I hope verant will nerf it again and give it some extra stats, hehehe :)I'd say it hits allmost as fast as a velium swiftblade if you have a fbss on.
It could be a component for a quest. They are coming out with an expansion this could be part of the many new quests.

Was changed, it's droppable like pretty much every other piece of loot. Dropped off a Lizard Trapper guy in the maze.

Err... I wouldn't consider any item with 18 DLY to be crap, especially when it's 8DMG and I have a 1-handed damage bonus of 11. It may be crap in comparison to the stuff that Rangers, Rogues and Bards can get, but this thing is pure gold to a Warrior.
Aye... even locustlure has better stats than that...

8/18 weapon in a zone like CT? It's no drop. Pretty much every melee I know that is capable of hunting in CT has much much better. Am I missing something?

Its 8/18 so its an uzi with haste and haste items and bard song etc.. I use a 8/18 club at times when I feel like switching out weapons and testing mobs resistance to slashing vs bashing vs piercing..
Needless to say when I use the 8/18 combined with swiftwind and hasted, I do incredible ammounts of damage for not too much less per hit than I wouls with both epics or heavy 12plus damage weapons in hand. I just hit them more meaning it all balances out... but the warrior above made a good point. You build aggro veryfast and can hold it with that ratio.
Letting this item rot would be foolish and pigheaded.

I just won one of these today. I'm a 60 warrior and was using a defiance in primary. I think this keeps better taunt and worth the 10 ac loss from the defiance just to keep taunt a little better :o)

Maybe they put it in the game to give that mob the stat he needed to make it a challenge to kill him. The mob has to be able to dish out the damage a bit to make it interesting you know. So, I think this sword is just a way for the mobs to stay alive for a bit.

Just a thought, maybe Verant was thinking about all those folks that love to buy/sell/trade/give to lower level players? Maybe?

I think the point they were trying to make is this weapons serves no purpose. If you are of level to hunt Cazic, you are going to have better. If it's no drop, you can't even sell to merchant. The item also has no saves, effects or stats to make it desireable for any specialty purpose, so why put in junk that's just going to be destroyed or rot...
