Everyone who is complaining about how rare some of the drops for this armour are, I have a story for you. Oh yes...
I had only just started playing EQ, and after experimenting with a few classes, decided that I liked the Dark Elf ShadowKnight best of all. I had worked out my style of playing and was really getting used to hanging around the undead area to the north of Nektulos (I'm sure every newbie who's tried for this armour is familiar with the horrible run past everything to the completely useless guard near the Lavastorm entrance, only to be killed by your own train while he fails to kill the mobs at the same speed as you could have anyway).
Nonetheless, I digress. One particular day, before I got most of the pieces or even knew much about what items I needed, I stumbled across a calcified ribcage. It was no-drop, and as such I figured it might come in handy in the future, so I picked it up. Lovely, I thought, I'll use that later.
Now, on one of my frequent trips to the Neriak bank (all that lovely copper from the low level mobs does eventually turn into a load of gold) I saw a few bags lying on the floor. I had no idea what they were so picked them up as well (can anyone spot the ninja-looter here?). Turned out they were 100% weight reduction Interdimensional Pockets. 100% WR? I had those in a second! I put into them all of the stuff which was encumbering me - my calcified bones, my new 20pp sword which I didn't have much skill in yet and was keeping for later, and all the other heavy stuff I was carrying. I thought they were a godsend, and figured maybe someone had dropped them because they were either (a) far too rich, (b) really generous or (c) stupid.
Later that day I logged out and the following morning I logged back in. This is the point in the story where anybody else who has used Interdimensional Pockets will be smiling sympathetically and shaking their heads. In my inventory I had my three trusty backpacks and my sewing kit. Where were my great new Pockets? Where was all my rare stuff and new sword? Where? WHERE?!
It was at this point I learned a very valuable lesson. When I had examined these apparent 'uber' items, I had noticed the phrase 'no rent', but had no idea what it meant. I had basically ignored it, thinking maybe I would find out at a later date. And I did. Man, did I swear a lot about that mistake. Oh yes. To this day it still grates that I have a full set of the armour, with the exception of the breastplate, because the only piece I can't find is - yes, you've guessed it - the calcified ribcage. Which was one of the first parts I had. Gaaaaaaaah! Curses, I say - CURSES! Ahem.
I'm sorry that this post is so long, but I feel I have to get this off my chest, and at the same time hopefully warn some newbie who might do the same thing themselves.
Thanks for your time.
