All 4 Praesertums are on the FOURTH floor of their buildings. Go up all stairs and click the wall ornament at the end of the small corridors to port up. He will be in the central bedroom.
Spawn time is 3 days I heard. Not confirmed since I got the belt on the first kill. =)
This one is unslowbable (although only moderately MR) and flurries so you wont solo it as a shaman. The mutt tanked it however, with 1 cleric for heals.Remember to /guard and hold for enrage :P
Someone said earlier that it drops off of the 4 minibosses. Who are the minibosses? Also, what sort of force would be required to take of of these minibosses out?
The mini bosses are in the top (3rd) floor of each of the 4 guild halls in the city. Pass thru the gate/door, and into the Guild area. All four guild halls are the same, the mini boss is at the end of the hall. This particular one is the leader of the Shoulder gang, or Custos Armorum.
The fight is not so easy, since this guy has a bad habit of banishing your party members into the dungeon, near the arena. Best to bring a CoH mage, just to keep the party in tact.
I'm not sure if people noticed, but the classes are basically Vah Shir ones and it's an item off of Luclin so it's not too off for it to be specifically those.
Actually, it is all the races that can be Beastlords and all the classes of the Vah Shir. That is the way all the quest/specialized drops that are/were primarily meant for the Vah Shir are coded. See any of the Vah Shir newbie armor quests in Shadeweaver's Thicket for other examples (Rebirth armor etc)
This mob is on the third floor of the building known as "shoulder". In the center of the zone there is a large building surrounded by 4 other large buildings of similar shape. As you approach the cluster of these buildings from the zone to DSP, it is the first of these large buildings on your right (NW?). There are pictures above the doors of each building. The others are "eye" "heart" "hand" - This guys is in "shoulder".
not sure if any of ya noticed but although the 10% smith is awsome there is also a 25ac and 5str to look at so it isnt just for the smithing its an overall great belt cause i mean it has more ac than the ry'gorr bp
Yes, and moreso than just that is that its wearable by BEASTLORDS!! Think of it, yeah, its heavy as all hell, even with the 5str, but at 25ac?! That is almost more ac by itself than a full suit of rawhide! Granted, by the time a Beasty would get this, he would already have alot of good armor, but I would wager this belt still has more ac than most beasty BPs! And for any other class who can wear it, especially those who smith, this belt is just awesome.
So this item is more likely only wearable with those whose culture understands the mystical properties of a belt which holds the spirit of a great smith.
c'mon... add some spice!

Just as a side note, the races listed for this item have a low INT versus many of the other races out there, so this would help there progression out a bit more. Dwarfs and Halflings have low int as well, but seemed to be recive the short end of the stick on this one.

Also, testing has also shown that using a +skill item while attemting to raise skill via combines accually lowers the skill increases significantly, while increasing the chance of success.
As someone who have collected tons of succes data, to try work out succes rate formula, and can with good certaincy say that your skill is the ONLY thing that affects your succes rate.
This is consistant with the information VI has provided.
Your higest stats does however have significant impact on skill gain.
On the str vs. other stats for skill ups...I'm a barb warrior with 70 wis and 60int...I've gotten smithing up in the past week from 0 to 163 on 420pp <this is not including resales> I have a much better skill up rate than a dark elf cleric friend of mine with 158 wis...my str is 211...you make the call.
would also like to add that it has been tested and proven by many that success rate is only determined by actual skill, stats just up the skill up.
Ahh... so my smithin' barby Shammy should be thankful fer his 200 WIS, and self-buffed STR of 167 then, neh?
(And BTW, he's got fletchin' of 192 as well.... why? So I can do sumthin' useful while meddin' up, and improve the overall strength of our group. Never hurts to have extra arrows to pass around to the melee-types.)
the common denominator in these races is that they are all beastlord races. Perhaps the item was originally going to be bst only and they thought that was kind of silly so lets make it some other classes that these same races can be.
All these races can actually be War, Bst, Shm.
As far as smithing its whichever is the highest of wis or int, as with all trade skills. The secondary smithing stat is str.
All gear is not for everyone and verant does not always explain it.
Sure the stats on this are great, but only races with no worthwhile smithing can use it, just dangleing it in the human/highelf/darkelf/dwarves faces makeing us drool. =(
Hmmm 'No worthwhile smithing'? Youy obviously never heard of Barbarian Tribunal cultural Smithing, Bst wearable chain armour is similar to Skyshrine stuff, hardly not worthwhile. A full suit sells for 100kpp or so.
I don't know about that, Ogre Cultural armour is almost as good as crafted. Just heavy as drek And the Vah Shir Warrior Quests need all the smithing help they can get.
Just cause they aren't the most likly smiths, doesn't mean its not a big help for them.
