The grimling prince who pops in the merchant area drops this. Killing him ends the war and (in theory) resets the zone. Gotta loot fast fast tho. If memory serves he rots in about 30 seconds. So know who's going to loot before you go in. You won't have time to debate it.

I got this shield today, it's usable by beastlords in both the back and secondary slot! And the SHIELD LOOKS SWEEET! Not sure it's the only one of it's kind, I havn't seen a lot of the shields yet, but it looks like a HUGE SQUARE with a big blue gem in the center top....but it is BIG !!!! Looks kinda like the shield squat team's use hehhe, its BIG. Neat looking.

What saves it is being usable as a cloak, plus it's not super-heavy like the Aegis of Life.

Yes, very true, and its also a halfway decent shield (or back piece) that is usable by Beastlords! Very few of the established shields can be used by the beasties...no CGS, SBS or Black Chitin shield was what hurt me...three of the better low level ones and easiest to get and not usable by beastlords.
