I just got these boots today. Stats are correct except they also now have 50 endurance (meaningless) and are REQ 51, not REC 51. I heard some concerns that invis might not break charm anymore, so I ran a test...I can confirm that clicking these boots on my 65 enchanter broke charm on 7-21-11. Cleared sewers 6-8 times; boots dropped the first time I killed the virulent mosquito.

Perhaps you need to be 51 to use affect - since its recommended lvl is 51? That would be my guess.

I just had to share this story, my friend tried for weeks to camp a Goblin Gazughi Ring and eventually paid just over 7k for one, the ring must be equipped to use and is target only so you must target yourself to use it.

These boots are activatable from inventory, I simply put my boots in inventory 8 and put that slot in hotkey 9 and use my keyboard 9 key to activate them.

Anyhow, bought my boots for 5k which isn't really the point, the funny part is I bought them in the bazaar off some guy's level 39 bard trader :)

At last! We bards now have an all/all item that we can call our own because all the other class'es see this as an "ehh, its ok" item.
For a bard that Swarm-Charm kites.. this is an experience ***** machine!.
Example: kite a few (3-6) Rockhoppers out of the cave in Dawnshroud (making sure to avoid agro'ing your bunch onto a nearby druid or something). Get to a nearby clearing and charm just one of the rockhoppers and sic it on another. They all swarm on the charmed hopper whilest you stand back and monitor the action. Wait til your pet is about dead, Insta-cast invis boots too break charm, Chant kite it to death and then proceed to charm another hopper.
As long as you don't do any physical damage to the rest of the hoppers (mobs) your fighting, they will all agro on your pet and not you.

I've earned entire blue bars before in 20 minutes time at level 52 with this baby! =) now if I just had a way to regen my mana faster.. I would be unstopable. lol ! XD

I'm so sick of people trolling by answering this kind of question about CT items.

From now on, if you're going to answer this one, PLEASE include the full explanation: most CT items are recommended level: 5x, but it turns out that the are actually REQUIRED (yes, the text says recommeneded, and it's wrong).

If people would just say that, it would prevent these cascading follow-ups of "read the screenshot, idiot" posts on every CT item listed on this site.

No you don't ... reccomeneded lvl doesn't mean you can't equip them, it means you won't get the full stats until you reach that level.

The screenshot is incorrect, along with most other older screenshots of items from CT. The recommended level tag on the item is erroneous, it is actually a required level 51.

Actually the screen shot is corect for the time it was taken. However, much of the earlier "recommended" level items from CT were also "required 51" to "equip". Many folks were being duped by sellers on CT items in particular, and the recommended/required system was in the process of evolution as the answer to the failure of TLC (trivial loot code)system back then. The item box info subsequently was appropriately updated to no longer be misleading.

I hear a lot of 'these are not that great' because invis vs. animals sucks. That's not true, for anyone that regularly uses charm, this is a very nice item. They work great for instantly breaking charm whenever you feel like it. You can even use them from your inventory which is also nice.

Keep in mind...
# Mar 15 2002 at 5:25 PM Rating: Decent
Keep in mind, if you get hit by an AE damage spell your invis breaks. If you attack your invis breaks. If you cast your invis breaks. See the pattern? Basically something people probably won't use as their primary buffing item for dispelling mobs hehe :-)

Not the best item but i like the instant cast time ... Better than a goblin skull earing for debuffing mobs. At least for a lot of casters.Just my 2cp worth :).

he means mobs that dispell, but its not that great cause you'll have to keep casting it. 0 cast time but I'm pretty sure it can get annoying

It's beyond not that great. It's almost useless because invis breaks whenever you do anything. These boots have one purpose: break charm or kill pet.

Earthen boots 5ac 15hp 5sta triggered invis vs. undead mage only

Supposedly, they kill your pet.

Edit: whoops. Typo there. Would see a lot more people doing the quest if it was actually invis versus undead.

AFAIK, invis of any kind kills pets...but then, I rarely cast IvU and I don't have reg Invis or IvA to test that with.
