I'm a lvl 45 erudite chanter, and when i go to equip this item it tells me my class race/ and or deity can not equip this. It says recomended lvl of 51 not required. Anyone have a simmilar problem?

The "recommended" tag from CT items actually means required .

I believe this has Enhancement Haste III on it now. Since ENC is the only class that would use this item effectively for that purpose, makes me wonder how VI decided what items get what effects. My Cleric just hit 44 and is in need of some new effect items. Looks like he is out of luck until he hits mid 50's. I sure hope that there is another round coming and that they put more thought into it before they just slap some effects on items without thinking about it.

Just out of random curiosity, why would this only be used by Enchanters? I don't see many Enchanters even wanting this, let alone them having a lock on getting it. It's got no INT or CHA, the HP's and AC are low and the 40 mana while great isn't overwhelming for someone always on crack.

High level Necro's get a group buff, Wizards and Mages get Damage Shields, and they all get self only buffs that would benefit from the extended duration. Wizards also get Spellshield which is one of the best Buffs when fighting casters. Enchanters get a bunch of buffs but they only really rely on 3: Haste (epic click which isn't affected by focus), KEI which lasts so long I can't imagine any single event where they would need to refresh and Group Magic Resist. Yes C2/Clarity would benefit and haste before they get the epic, but if your fighing in Cazic you're well into the Epic level range so the exclusive usefullness is gone. And I'd actually rather see it on the Mage for their awesome damage shield to last longer.

I personally prefer VoG over Shissar all the time anyway. Yeah it is not free, but any addition to attack with welcomed gladly.

This is about enhancement haste, not enhansment extention. While enhancement haste on a damage shield would come in handy on occasion (just time your DS duration, not that hard to refresh before it drops) it would be much better for the rare situation where a chanter is asked to chain-cast rune. Cutting off a few seconds of casting time might make the diffrence between a CH landing and a total wipeout.

Also, I know there are quite a few lvl 60 chanters without epic. Not sure about other servers but on Fennin Ro there is a HUGE line of chanters fighting to get their epics. It's just as bad as the cleric epic.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 06 2002 at 8:45 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Since the new foci items have come out, I must say, this one is an awesome one now. All I know is this thing has wizard written all over it. But please, don't flame me for the obvious.
not a tailored item

but in order to get one of these spawn, you probably have to kill his PH 10 times or more.. and this belt appears to be rare drop

overall a very nice belt for some extra mana

Greetings,
How many mosquitoes does one have to skin in order to make a belt?

These are pretty big mosquitos.

They have been known to carry off newborn lambs and some halflings. Damn I miss those lambs. :-)

#REDACTED, Posted: Mar 15 2002 at 1:15 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) why is it that caster gear that drops now is more suited for melle classes than the melle gear that is dropping?

6ac and you'd consider it good for a post lvl 55 melee? I can't see it. But 6ac, and the excellent dose of mana, would be nice for a caster with int maxxed. Sure it has dex and agility, but that doesn't automatically make it good for melee types.

Beacuase by this tmie most casters already have a maked out wis/int pool so why not work on the other stats?

yeah... I know I'm probably going to get grief by saying this, but VI has said that if you move while casting it will give a chance to interupt. Well, the more dex you have, the less you will get pushed back by mobs that are hitting you... hense, the more dex you have, the less you get interupted. Also, agi is always nice for avoiding the hits in the first place =)
