Too bad you're comparing it to CULTURAL smithing. I'm sure if I compared these to Imbued Steelsilk I'd probably side with Imbued Steelsilk (not caring to check, actually) but I don't have 1000 platinum to blow all that often and a high level enchanter at my disposal.
These are all right, especially for Iksar.

im an iksar sk and i have bad faction with the guy that i turn the stuff into, what do i kill to get my faction with him up?
Kill Elementals to raise your faction, some good items have a good chance to drop even off the regular ones.
Mid 40s Iksar SK. I've been stuck with Ry'Gorr for the longest time now. I just haven't seen any upgrade that was worth the tradeoffs or wasn't uber expensive. I would definately switch my 'Gorr gear for these. Maybe some day I'll get lucky and find the pieces for them.

Really, by the time I'm 45th, I should have the smithing up to where it needs to be to smith myself some enchanted plate vambraces. For the moment, I'll stick with the Dark Forge I'm chasing.
