Finally got this after all this! Now I own all Cabilis weapon arc final weapons! lol
Just a little note. at 52, wearing mostly intricate Defiant gear, cloak is Extended Enhancement V which is 15%, the Duration of the buff is 12 seconds. Not sure if we can increase this with AA and better enhancement either. So for all those that have not gotten this. just know that the duration is low, it's as if you were a bard singing it ( with no duration enhancement). The only difference is that you can't melody it and it's instant cast, so no worries about interruptions.

Finally got it
# Mar 29 2006 at 1:12 PM Rating: Decent
Finally got this item yesterday! I had the satchel and the book i just needed to talk to cazic and get the other book then hand them all back in to him. I tried this solo but all 8 times ended horribly(me becomeing a corpes)I finally gave up till i could get something going raid wise to help with clearing the zone. Was farming some items when someone was shouting in general chat that they wanted to do raid so i graved my satchel and book and invis potion and joined up. Took like 2 1/2 hours for it to kick off and the raid was dissappointed in the fact that none of the golems where up only cazic. lucky me. either way i did my hand in and then the raid killed cazic. not sure what he dropped but im sure it made someone happy.

Got this for my 55 monk.

One grouped the main mobs (level 50-60 groups). Most were easy.

Had to sneak turn-in to Brother Balatin to spawn his tougher version, otherwise he will attack.

I gathered all the components first and headed to fear (by myself :P). Please note, some mobs see invis and some do not and they could be the SAME model. When I zoned into Fear, I noticed a lot of mobs were up. I tried to run after getting aggro but I could not make it and FD kept getting interupted by casters. I did not have any HP/AC buffs. I died.

Summoned corpse and decided to try again. I had 4 or 5 invis potions. This time I got Virtue and Sow. Invis at zone-in proved to be futile as at least one mob there saw me. I flopped as best I could with much down-time FDd. At one point all my buffs were dispelled, I was feared and GATED but I managed to make it to the east wall. Once there the mobs were a bit thinner, and I tried invis again. Now I could see most of the mobs and I conned everything from far off and avoided those who could see me.

I made my way to the north wall and the ring of fire. All this time I hear Cazic Thule shouting so I know he is up, but I do not spot him. I circle around the ring of fire and back to the north wall avoiding the mobs who see me. Then I spot him. I am standing by the north wall a bit east of the ring of fire. He has 2 mobs who see invis near him. Cazic cons warmly and sees invis.

Caz, ambles around the area and now is walking straight for me with NO other mobs following him. I take my chance, say Gandan has failed IN his task. He hands me a book and I straight-away hand him the book back, plus Gandan's book and the combined Cazic satchel. Cazic thanks me for the pain I have inflicted and hands me the Fists. I had to be almost inside of him to trade too.

He then wanders to the west. There were plenty of mobs walking around but I was relatively safe so I camped out and took the free ride home the next day.
finding Cazic-Thule for turn-in

After joining Fear raids twice only to find that earlier raids had cleared the zone, I finally got my WF this week. I can confirm that Cazic-Thule is on a 7-day timer (or very nearly). The servers were rebooted for a patch a week before, so as we approached 7 days of uptime I quaffed an invis potion and headed into Fear solo at level 56.

I headed west from the zone-in, then north (skirting around the Fiend House but still west of the circle of fire) to the zone edge, then east along the edge to the northeast corner. Invis of course dropped too soon, and I had to feign a few times to shake off agro. Be sure to stay feigned until "your enemies have forgotten you" (two minutes), because agro in Fear is pretty crazy and you do NOT want to attract a Death Touch mob. Bring plenty of spare invis potions, too!

You'll know if the CT is due to pop soon because the other mobs will start to fill the zone (so CT will have lots of mobs to summon, naturally). I'd seen a scattering of mobs on earlier visits, but it was pretty crowded this time. Most don't see invis, thank goodness.

Anyway, I feigned in the northeast corner and came back in the morning to find CT had spawned and was shouting to the zone. (Exact timer on spawn is unclear since the server might've come up a few hours before players were allowed to log in after the update.) I waited a while but couldn't see him, so I got up and moved west until I could spot him. I was able to see him from +1336,-1108; he moved away but I ran up to where he'd been and noted the loc: +1201,-794. That seems to be about as far east as he roams. I tried to FD there to wait for his return, but the feign failed and I had to run away from some mobs. Came back later and CT was in a slightly different spot, more on top of the hill a bit to the south, but still mostly out of range of other mobs in the zone.

You might be able to do the turn-in without any other mobs spotting you, but of course if they do they'll agro and CT will then join them against you. Easiest is to quaff yet another invis potion (bring lots!), because CT sees invis but most other mobs don't.

Remember also to bring along a gate potion of some sort, unless you want to wait six hours to use the "Return Home" button on the character select screen. My favorite gate potion is the Potion of Escape you loot off Master Glox in the Trial of Agility (part of Shackle of Tynnonium, so you must've done it by now if you're doing the Fists). If you can Intimidate Glox during that fight, he'll run out through the locked door so you get to keep the potion until you camp (it's Temporary).

There is a Zone-Out in the temple inside the ring of fire, one the second level. You can pop invulnerability or just go bawls out and run in, and zone back out to Ferrott
Recast
# Oct 29 2004 at 9:32 AM Rating: Decent
how long does the effect last? or do you have to recast every 18 secounds?
RE: Recast
# Jan 28 2005 at 9:36 AM Rating: Decent
this effect is no different from the bard song, it will last 2-3 ticks (forget exactly) and you will have to keep recasting it

I just obtained this for my monk and í'm loving it, extra speed boost and 50 str maxes my str out (10 from item and 40 from song)

clicking it a bunch of times is a small price to pay

Shackle of Tynn.
# Mar 23 2004 at 7:03 AM Rating: Default
Why some people say they have to do their shackle of tynnonium again?

Do you use up your shackle of tynnonium in the quest process of CF or WF? I don't see any part where the shackle will be used up for the CF or WF..

So why are people doing it the second time? It's LORE isn't it?
RE: Shackle of Tynn.
# Apr 14 2004 at 9:02 AM Rating: Default
While you are getting your Whistling Fist, you turn in your Tynnonium shackle. You can then do the quest again to regain it. I myself have redone it twice, so when I turn in my tynnonium shackle, I can get it again with my steel shackle, and then regain the steel shackle. Easy quests to do, aside from the foraging needed for the shackle of copper...

Don't ever bother with the penance quest. Just have a friend make an Iksar Monk and have them Multi-quest the shackle of dust.

Yes, this CAN be done with Illusion Iksar potion, at least I assume it can, as my Vah Shir shaman did the Shaman quest using illusion iksar potion.
bones in kurns w druid friend
# Oct 09 2003 at 9:42 PM Rating: Decent
just a quick note on a way to get massive numbers of bone chips in kurns if you have a druid friend or other AoE caster :)

first /who and check that zone is empty, and if not /shout and /ooc your plans, which are:

go aggro every skelly in the zone and train 'em in a TIGHT group near the caster. Upheaval (low-50's druid AoE) wipes 'em all out. In case of out-of-range accident, zone is very handy (yes, 40 to 80 p'o'd level 11 skellys can kill a druid)

repop is very quick, there are lots of skellies on the top two floors. the bottom floor has useless and annoying burynais, so I didn't bother pulling from there.

No need: in one all-day session I collected AND turned-in over 2,000 bone chips and went to amiable w Troopers and Scowling w Crusaders... I had spent some time in my 20's in LoIO killing gobbies, so didn't start from zero.

One more bone session should do it for me and I don't have to go KOS in FV (not that i care too much).

Also, BTW, there is a cave near the water in FoB that has skellies that give you faction with the Necro guild (Brood of Kotiz i believe).

Someday, the jewel of the Court of Pain will be mine :)
RE: bones in kurns w druid friend
# Nov 29 2003 at 1:21 AM Rating: Default
They can't if druid casts b4 aggroing regen + DS on himself. biggest draw back of misfired upheval will be waiting till they all die -- skellies won't be doing good job on hitting druid. lowering own AC helps. I mean removing some armor not debuffing self :).
Usually it's a good idea to find some1 inside buff him/her with skin + regen + DS + ocasional heal & PL ppl that way. If druid gets aggro just zone out then back in. I've done that 3 times lowest monk lvl 7 I don't know his HP/AC but I could keep him alive without much trouble & he went 7-14 in about 20-25 mins
humans can have easy
# Sep 20 2003 at 8:46 AM Rating: Default
Faction isnt that hard, just ruin faction with the pointy ears in Gfay and FV how often do you go there any way. Kill the explorers in LOIO for there knives and turn into the Iksar Trooper at the ruins in LOIO takes about 10 stacks to be indiff.
The shackles are done pretty quick, got the shackle of tynn 2 times. Follow the guides.
Due to Droga upgrade its even easier to get the stupendous tomb quest done.
All I have to say is Soft Skins should go for it.
After all it is Ever"Quest"

Monk of Quellious and WF
# Aug 27 2003 at 5:34 AM Rating: Decent
Okay, i'm not sure my imput really matters at this junction, but at the time i started this quest it was for the sole purpose of just doing the quest to say "I did that". this was back in spring 2002. Now at the time i knew of very few human monks attempting this, but this is how i went about doing it.
First i was in LoIo. killing sarnaks, had to kill close to 3.5k of them i'm sure.
Second, Warsliks Woods, at the gobo camp. Killed close to the same amount. (saw iksar scaled gloves galore, but after 2 weeks of killing, didn't see a damn earring for nothing)
Third.. the fun part. Bone chips. i hate bonechips. I started in Kurns cause i thought it would be quick, wrong. Paineel is faster. I turned in about 6k of those puppies, and finally got dubious to crusaders. (they important ones, they SK's) this entire process took me about a month and a half. longest part was gathering bonechips because i'm not the richest person in the world. and my monk is my main.
The shackles. I saw a few posts on it. the quest of pennince (spelling?) is the ONLY way for a non iksar monk to get the shackle of dust (yea you can go kill Veltar to get it but i'm a role player damn it) took forever too. that thing didn't proc for ****. even with a 150 dex. once you get the shackle your in buisness, (oh. i wasn't max faction with swift tails so i had to do the pennince quest 3 times to finally get the first quest open to me) After that the other's where simple. lots of running around. and getting the stone from the gargoyle was interesting. smack him, run away FD, sneak. stand hit hotkey. give item. I got the Shackle of Steel right around the time Tynn was discovered. so i went and got all the way up to copper (i think, don't remember what was before steel) Did the 3 marks twice. i'm currently wearing Shackle of Tynn and have the replacement pieces in the bank for after turn in. I'm currently working on the stupendous tome. just need one more scroll from CoM, and FCR and i'll be ready to make the tome. after that. i need the 3 fights, and final talking to cazic for the second tome/turn in. so this quest IS doable for a human monk who is willing to do it. that's my 2 cents. flame, congratulate, what ever.

worth it

SO does everyone think the effort it takes to do this quest is stillworth it?
RE: worth it
# Jul 28 2003 at 4:17 AM Rating: Excellent
The pride in owning this is what makes it worth it. The nearest thing to wining in this game is haveing more pride in you charicter than the next guy. If you go through this quest, you have the pride. So what if the guy next to you got PL'l or Ebayed his way to being top dog. You earned it.
Sounds hoaky but trust me, when you do the final turn in it don't feel that way.
RE: worth it
# Jun 28 2008 at 8:38 PM Rating: Default
I agree fully with this post, the pride you feel completing a well made quest like this make it all worth it, even if they item isn't still awesome by todays equipment standards. For example, when i finished the epic on my beast lord, i really thought nothing of it, I was like oh glowing gloves, neat, but when I finished this quest for the first time, the feeling that washed over me was like nothing else in EQ I had done, the same with finishing the monk epic, the bst epic is just to much of a gimme to come with any pride and anyone who complains about that quest should not even play EQ, WoW would be more suiting to them.
Faction with CT
# Jun 02 2003 at 11:17 AM Rating: Decent
How do you handle faction with CT or do you even need it for the turn in?

can you just flop on down in front of him and do the turnin?
RE: Faction with CT
# Jun 02 2003 at 12:32 PM Rating: Decent
From what I've read, if you are a CT worshipping Iksar, faction shouldn't be a problem. However if you are a human, you should do the turn in from BEHIND CT, because if you flop on down in FRONT of him you will be a grease spot on his nice floor.

And don't hail him, that makes him turn around and "face" you.
Human Monks Foraging?
# Jan 05 2003 at 12:31 PM Rating: Excellent
So folks, how do teh NODROP foraged items wend their merry way into the hands of a Human Monk? In order to do this quest ,you need a box from Master Rinmark, (OK, so the faction is relatively easy to get witht he explorer knives or a kazillion bone chips), but how can you get teh foraged goods?
I would love some enlightenment on this, otherwise I see NO way a human could do this quest.

EASY FACTION!?!?!
# May 19 2003 at 11:47 AM Rating: Decent
Ok, maybe the faction isn't THAT tough to get, but as far as saying relatively easy, i wouldn't go that far. The faction work is not easy to do, and even then, the quests themselves are not a quick and easy thing. These quests are meant for iksar, you softskins shouldn't be in cabalis anyway =)
No really....I wouldn't waste my time working on these quests unless you are a hard-core roleplayer. The faction work needed just to walk into cab is NOT an easy thing to do. If you must though, go to kurns tower and start collecting MASS amounts of bone chips, or if you don't mind destroying FV faction, go to LOIO and kill the explorers for their knives.

Just my opinion but, these quests are meant for iksar only. Humans should stick to working on epic. In retrospect i wish i would have worked on epic instead of spending countless hours working on these shackle quests just to lose the last shackle on a turn-in anyway to get the whistling fists which are basically made obsolete by epic anyway (yeah, the songs do stack, not the haste but the other stats). The stupendous tome quest alone took many many hours of camping to complete.

IMHO, if you are human, don't worry about whistling fists, just chug it out in KC *yuck* and chardok and get your pipes and epic and be happy. I must admit though, if i saw a human with shackle of Tynn or the whistling fists themselves i would /kneel before them for the time and effort put into the whole ordeal but in back of my mind i would pity the poor soul who wasted a LOT of time that should have been spent working towards epic.

RE: EASY FACTION!?!?!
# Aug 09 2003 at 12:41 AM Rating: Good
I'm doing the WF quest as a monk of Quellious. Is factoin hard? took me a long time. Yes, a long time. No human is gonna walk into Cabilis without doing at least 2 parts of 3 on the faction. I killed around 3K goblins and handed in around 350 explorer knives. (ok, the Iksar don't like quellious too much). And then I started on the Necro faction. (killing exiled iksar) but thankfully, that faction is not needed.

And YES, its a matter of pride to do the shackle quest as a human. I know several freinds that started a second character and pretty much got PL'd to level 50 and then just did exp grouping ever since. But they are all spend like 25K on startup equipment and spells (if applicable) and prolly another 25 to 50K on em, just so they could group at the high levels.

So I get pride at doing quest.
To each his/her own. some players love questing, some players don't.

Just to let you know, the group I was with made me go toe to toe with him (said something about it would feel more like MY accomplishment if I did it). I was a 58 monk at the time with so so gear. They tossed me a heal when I needed it, but that was it. Unslowed, yes he hits fast and fairly hard. I almost bit the big one when he enraged (monk + bad reflexes + enrage = dead monk). We got him to spawn 45 minutes after the PH, or rather what I believed was his PH, was killed.

Just got this baby, and quite pleased,at level 54 i was able to do the whole quest with some help from my friends/guild,took me about 3 weeks of questing from total scratch, and was overall worth it,the warsong doesn't add very much in the way of haste, but adds almost 40 str,and the dmg/dly and stats are VERY nice...considering what i was using before this, the hardest mob to KILL was Zhaoku, who i tried to take with a 60 shammy and 56 war(big mistake),slow wore off in the middle of the fight and we all died(oops),well, just my 2 cp,totally worth it weapon if you don't have the typical uber monk stuff(90% of the lvl 60 monks on mithaniel marr wear the exact same gear),Good luck all.

In two days my Iksar was Warmly in Kelethin and Apprehensive in Felwithe. Just can't bank because bankers run off of Tunare faction... I got Apprehensive in Freeport easy. Only hard part is having a druid Wolf Form you to turn in the belts. If you try to do the faction by killing orcs, you just raise the Pally faction, not Militia. Factioning is easy, so long as you uderstand the factions you are changing.
RE: Personaly
# Dec 18 2002 at 10:09 PM Rating: Excellent
Just thought I'd note...

Apparently, as of recently after the realise of PoP, Wolf Form no longer boosts faction.. with anyone. Sooo... now its a bit harder.
Rather than belts, you're going to want Orc Scalps. Just go to Crushbone and auction to purchase them at 2pp each, youll get a ton.. be sure to kill for them to in areas not camped. Once you have about 250, go to Highpass and turn them into Captain Ashlan with sneak. You can turn them in four at a time, unstacked. Then you just haev to kill rocs for guild faction, (I reccomend Nek forest because theyre never camped there, you can kill all 3)

Of course, if you turn in all 300-some odd scalps at once youll probably be so weighted down with the cash you cant walk P

Honestly, you must be doing the wrong faction quests. I know many a iksar that has walked the streets of Neriak, Freeport, Qeynos, Grobb, Oggok in less time it takes for one human to walk the streets of Cabillis and even then, we're not completely safe. You're not perma-KoS anywhere. Almost every faction can be improved.

We are religious. We're just devoted to spreading fear into the hearts of soft-skins.

LOL notice how the human monks are starting to get into Iksar shackle quests hehe. And you made a human monk, thinking they are better, pffft.

What level and group are required to kill the fallen master in Seb, can't seem to find any info on him. Seem to be the crux of the quest, rest can be done pretty easy if you are guilded.

He's lvl 57 hits fast, and rages at the end so i guess you need a full group of 55+ to handle this dude.

RE: question

yes u can request the shackle of dust.. i have done it. it sucks... it really really really sucks. Find the court of pain and off to the right of the guild master theres a female there go to her and say " I have lost my shackle ". she will annialate you with claims of hate and give you a book... the book will have you find the toilmaster and ask him for a bag... and for a hammer (4/60 2hb 25 wt eff : bone rend ) the book will continue to go on saying u need to get a mortar and pestle from the mortician ( other side of cab. follow the right wall second floor second building ) the book again continues about how you have to smash all the enemies of CT ( use the hammer to smash greenies outside the gates when it procs u get a no drop bone fragment on ur cursor that u drop in mortar and pestle )... u need 48 procs... this will take you about an hour or more ( dex dependant ) combine 8 in mortar and pestile and u get a bone poder... combine 7 of those and a flask of bloodwater in the bag and u take the book and the bag back to the fem iksar in court of pain

i tried so long and tried so hard but in the end it didnt really matter
