The new tradeable version of this says:
Recommended Level: 51
And (being level 50) it said I couldn't wield it. I am hoping that when I hit 51 soon I will be able to wield it. Otherwise it goes up for sale again :-( I was hoping to use it for training 2HB. Still hopin, just have to get another half level.

I am looking forward to it! :)

#REDACTED, Posted: Jul 09 2002 at 6:34 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Someone wanted 15kpp for this. That's mad. There are FAR better ratio stat 1h weapons for clerics and shamen that will not take up BOTH friggin hands. As for druids, well shoot 15k will buy a PKT (about 8k) and a Prelate's Lantern (7k or so) easily. There's 33wisdom and some mana/hp plus a few resists. This item is garbage in my opinion. Good only for increasing 2hb skill.
Re Ventura vs Darkmagus in Steel Cage Death Match
# May 26 2002 at 3:13 AM Rating: Decent
I would like to address the comments of Ventura speaking for his 54th Vicar Buppen of Bristlebane (Carebear server). FOR THOES OF YOU JUST JOINING US SCROLL DOWN TO GET THE FEEL FOR MY POST :)

1. Mr. Ventura I feel your view of us wimpy clerics is a sad one. I use to be one of thoes whiner healers who would boo hoo about not having invso, levitate or having any usefulness but sitting on our butts all the time doing thoes boring heals. I can see you now in your medium to uber sized guild now, boo hooing about how broke you are and how 'we clerics get the shaft'. As if that was not enough we are always in /tell hell. Oh BOO HOO we cannot beat anything with our BOOM STICK. Soloing is so tough it takes us sooo long to sit and med. <sniff> ect... Anyone who plays (not power lv) a cleric to 50 is an Attention *****! (Including myself 53rd sexy priestess of Innoruuk. RALLOS ZEK ). THIS CLERIC IS JUST CRYING TO WHOEVER WILL LISTEN FOR ATTENTION.

2. Mr. Darkmagus a.k.a Ilasar the tree hugger with the Iksar name. 42nd acorn.( Carebear Server )I FEEL YOUR PAIN when you have to read a post from a cleric who is still whining and crying even when that cleric SCORED something he likes.I would like to point out that you have NO CLUE how clerics work. Like I said Clerics are Attention whores and far from breaking that delicate balance of your realm of being an weak *** healer with weak *** dots and weak *** dd's. Why can't you ever find a druid when ya need one. Oh that's right YOU DONT EVER NEED A DRUID. So stop YOUR CRYING ABOUT GETTING A GROUP ya WEAK *** QUAD Kite till I have to zone but only after I train your *** or DIE OF OLD AGE BEFORE YOU KILL SOMETHING fruitcake. No wonder we kicked you out of the city and into the forest nature boy.
Hey wait maybe im being a little hard on ya. Can I have a SoW :)

EVEN WITH THIS WEAPON! Our tough guy VICAR's Visions of bloody battle, smashing all that gets in his way is but a Dream err should I say Nightmare??? Hummp.. guess that depends upon perspective. Just because he can hit for what 30? 40? hp's dmg once in a blue moon during battle doesnt blow the game out of BALANCE Oh keeper of the forest so dont get your green tight's in a bunch.

3.Im not sure what upsets me more the Crybaby cleric or the druid who crys 'HEY NO FAIR'! and preaches "BALANCE" like an Olympic official giving out gold medals so EVERYONE CAN FINISH IN A TIE FOR FIRST PLACE.God forbid life be unbalanced, unfair or tough on someone. Why thank you Mr.Know it all for the lesson in political correctness and BALANCE. So what do you care if they make a cleric into a healer / fighter. Oh wait they already did... its called a PALLY! My bad I see your point.

On a lighter note I would like to say Nice post. to MR. Azuarc. I have a feeling he is a Teacher or lawyer of some sort and hope he doesnt grade me on my spelling or puncuation << omg I hope I pulled that one out of my ***). Reguardless I loved his post. Nicely done. Sir.

I love my cleric and play her well. I dont just sit on my butt for 8hours and <yawn> heal/buff. If you think about it. Thats what all caster classes do RIGHT! Take a step back for a second and think about it. GOOD CLERICS get that groovin rush when that Complete heal goes off on the Ogre named MEAT. Health is at half a bubble and you said you were OOM 30seconds ago. Good Clerics with one hand cast that life saving stun on the beasty that made it thru the front lines. You know the one eating your Chanter who is in a state of panic because he is down to 1/2 health. Then as if you were a conductor of a symphony drop a remedy to give the wimpy chanter his confidance back. Thus saving the group from going into total chaos. Oh wait now back to MEAT da Ogre. All this time your up and down like the stock market after a Govt. Terrorist Warning. That is only if you and your friends are having fun and enjoying the game and play as a Team. Otherwise; your a sucky cleric and the chanter died. The group in panic flee's and everyone is snapped at you for being a whiny cleric who cannot get the job done cause your to busy dreaming of being a Pally.

Thats just my opinion I could be wrong :)

ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY VALRIA!!! GODDESS OF ALL NORRATH!!!. No group could possibly survive without you. Reading your post you appear to have a very high opinion of yourself. And your closing signature seems to bear this out. Hmmm... chanters are wimps... Oh you mean they aren't MT's or MA's? Geee.. and I'll just bet you never got a buff of any kind off those wrothless idiots (sarcasm). Or a port from or any buff from a druid? Or any kind of buff fromm a shammy? Yeah I guess every class but cleric is pretty much useless. You say "only if you and your friends are having fun and enjoying the game playing as a Team" I guess certain classes are excluded from your "Team" and can't be one of your friends. You sound like a bigot and an elitist idiot.

This drops at zone-in, from Tae Ew Aggressor. He flurries, and enrages at the end. Hits for max 200, I think, not that hard really. Slow him, and he is a gimp. Did it with one group. 56 War, 57 Shd, 56 Necro, 55 Sham, 60 Enc, 54 Cleric.
I love mine

I got this on a raid into CT it dropped on a zone pull before we moved into the planks area with 3 groups to go after the AoF room (never made it there too many LDs and people had to go). In two days of usiong this exclusively I have raised my 2hb skill from around 50 to 102. I did not lose alot of wis with this switch either I carry a shield for resists so I would switch to my ensorcelled(SP?) Spear and Sarnak Battle shield when I need resists. But for the time being I am using this hammer and with celerity it puts this thing down to about 17/10 or so and I look like a warrior swinging that much though warriors do not miss as much as I do. I even got a hit in the high 50s on a summoning spider in Velks tonight so as I was saying I LOVE THIS THING and will use it regularly till I finish my epic.
#Cannodamusq, Posted: Mar 10 2002 at 10:01 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Ok... VI seems very happy making BL able to use all sorts of AWSOME wis caster items, like this 2hb. 17/20?! come on that's a dream!! What about Rangers and Pallies! (Can pallies 2hb? Rangers sure can!) We use wisdom too VI! Don't forget us cuz you made us sooo long ago! =(
RE: what about the rangers?!

Doesn't look like BL's can use this item....... and secondly, rangers and pallies are always getting awsome weapons. Clerics have definately been looked over in terms of melee capability. we're one of the few classes that is completely dependant on a group for exp in the higher lvls. Maybe VI is starting to do something about that by giving us weapons that we can use to melee with. Now if only they'll up our skill caps.....

With all due respect...if you wanted a class that could solo at high lvls and melee well, why did you pick a cleric?

In my opinion, clerics neither need nor do they deserve to be able to do that. There is something called class balancing...its not perfect at this point, but VI tries.

Now...In return for picking a class that is arguably the most needed class in a group, you have to give up some soloability. If clerics could melee, solo, and still be the most needed class in the game, than that would be seriously unbalancing. For example, i play a druid, and while my solo ability is awesome, along with my utility spells, its a cold day in hell when i can shout for a group and get a response in under minutes. A cleric on the other hand can usually barely get a shout out that he/she is looking for a group before getting tells from mutliple groups.

In conclusion....you can't have everything, if you want a great solo class, go make a necro, and if you want a great melee, go make a monk.

It's very true, if I had wanted to solo to any great expense I would have made a Necro. However, this doesn't preclude clerics being able to defend themselves or even solo from time to time. Yes, along with enchanters, we are the most needed group class in the game. However, if you look at enchanters and clerics together, chanters are still able to solo quite reasonably with blue mobs. They have pets, charming ability, and many other abilities that alow them to solo. Cleric's, IMHO are the only ones that are cimpletely dependant on a group. Our nukes suck, we have a lot of downtime with medding. Our melee skills suck, we're capped well below other hybrid classes. When looking at other classes they have some degree of freedom in there role. Cleric's have none. That, in itself, is inbalanced.

Odd but it seems strange to me that at 45+ my warrior doesnt seems to be able to solo but I have seen clerics capable of doing it. Now I am not about to praise a cleric for thier great soloability however a cleric using stun, root, blast technique can solo where as my warrior just cant stand there toe to toe with blue mobs without a healer of some type standing behind him.
RE: what about the rangers?!
# Mar 17 2002 at 9:03 PM Rating: Decent
I agree. Warriors have the worst ability to solo in the game. (My primary char is a cleric BTW) I would welcome some balancing in favor of Warriors before Verant does anymore balancing. My thought is that warriors should be able to bandage themselves up to 70 - 75% at all levels. But I doubt that would be enough. Buying enough bandages to heal a level 50 warrior would take up all inventory space. What ability can Verant realistically give to them to make them able to solo?
RE: what about the rangers?!
# Aug 16 2003 at 9:52 AM Rating: Decent
well its been a looong time since the above was posted, but if anyone reads this, warriors (or anyone for that matter) can just buy an Anizoks Gauze Press (on Sayryn they sell for only 250pp, quite a bargain considering the hassle of tinkering it up), a (deluxe--10-slot-- best, but any will do) toolbox, and a bunch of class 6 mana batteries--sold in PoK, or drops in PoI-- to recharge the press (dont have to be a gnome to do the recharge)....you can, then, in one such toolbox, hold enuf batteries to make 4000 stacks of bandages (10 stacks of 20 batteries, each of which will recharge the gauze press for 20 stacks of bandages)

aS a ogre shammy i melee as much as possible- even on raids, when a mob is highly magic resistant, and poison resitant- thers nwt for me to do but hand out buffs and join in whackin mobs!

Although my 2hb is crappy 151 atmo- i managed to hit a lvl 52 ancient? golem for for max hit of 120 other day in chadok~i feel soo funky~ Actually normal melle is with club of ice ocean- a dex of 213 means i proc alot, and 4 procs of 150 dam on a mob can help or grp KS the exp LOL

OK how far into CT does this thing drop ??

This would be nice to equip for those annoying camps where you are in a dungeon full of greens, wating for a rare spawn (just finished paw of oppala quest, which is a good example.) The problem is that you lose so much wisdom when you equip this. With the paw in primary, and Testament in seconday, I have 19 wis and 15 mana in those two slots (plus 9 ac and other stats), so I sure wouldn't keep this filling both slots if I was grouped. Would be great for killing those annoying green placeholders who waste too much mana to kill with spells. My current weapon is a sharkbone warhammer, which has 5 wis, but stinks for melee (8/26). Of course, as someone pointed out, this would be GREAT for training up 2hb. Of course this is the view of a cleric, I guess it could be different for a shaman or druid, although I have seen druids try to melee, and its not pretty.

Seems to me this would be something you'd keep in a sack in the bank, for those occasions that you farm something, or quest something that requires killing lots of green stuff.

I think this is the fastest two handed weapon now . . . closest matches I know of are the Bo Stick (1 24 2hb) and the silver Swiftblade (16 24 2hs) . . . Although, I can't see anyone other than a non epic shaman wanting to use this thing, as only the shaman is likely to tank (among the useable classes).

Not quite teh best for a shammy. My 52 Shammy partner uses

Hammer of Spiritcalling Dmg 39, Dly 43. Wt 5.00. +15 Sta, +15 Wis, +7 vsMg, +7 vsFire, +7 vsCold, +50 HP, +50 Mana

Which has also a rooting/DD proc. She hits regularly for 130+. And the 15wis 15Mana make it perfect to always equip.

I've had my epic for about a year, and i would gladly equip this when I was trying to dish out some dmg. This 17/20 weapon is the best I have seen anywhere for a shaman, and I have both a Priceless Hammer and Spear from Sleepers Tomb as well. This beats both of those hands down.

2HB isnt a skill you see a shaman working on much, but some of us have, and if you are using this, the odds are that you are meleeing a mob that is being main tanked. Thus the loss of the AC from your shield should not matter. There are much higher dmg weapons out there for soloing.

Whats really interesting here is all the comments from the players that are clearly not even halfway to the level the new CT zone demands. You walk into the new CT below level 55, and you wont last more that a mob or two, if you are lucky. We've had multiple groups of highly skilled 60s wiped out so fast it was scary. If you cannot get players with the levels like these together to go into CT, you have no chance of getting this weapon.

Do not confuse swinging a weapon with TANKING. Caster "tanking" at this level is at the end of a TPW.

55 Druid
52 Cleric
43 Shadow Knight
35 Monk
26 Necro
20 Warrior
One thing to point out...

At the level it takes to attain this, I would not want my cleric running around whacking things with something with THAT kind of aggro possiblities. I want him safe and sound healing our main tanks, thank you. LOL

However, in the times where one finds himself soloing... hey, its a nice back up to finish off the pesky beastie. :)

As for druids and shammies.... well... hell. Why not? ROFL
What about Beastlords?
# Mar 09 2002 at 1:56 AM Rating: Decent
My Beastlord is a master of 2H Blunt (Bamboo Bo Staff) and I was looking for a better 2HB to smack mobs around with . . . why not BL? We use Wisdom as much as the others. This does suck for being a NO DROP tho. I wanna be able to get it at 30! =)

More like "Tae Ew Hamma of Trainin'up2hb"! Woot.
I'd love to have this hammer to REALLY speed up my 2hb skill progression, as I'm currently using my fav. <kiss kiss> Granite Face Grinder (nice ratio, nice stats, but slow-ish). I've been planning on getting a shovel or something to speed things up a bit, but if I could get my hands on this whack-a-mole-mallet ... (the stats are actually BETTER than the Face Grinder ... but I have to say I prefer the Grinder's NAME <muhahahaha!>.
