Value on the dollar

At first glance I thought this suit of armor to be a rip as everyone seems to think most Twilight Sea sets are but I believe these suits are meant to be gotten as a whole. When you have the whole suit they are very nice. I did a quick look at a suit of totemic and the pieces of augur's that have been found. Most of the pieces retain the same AC with the exception of the breastplate which loses 2 AC but every piece has wisdom for a combined total of 31 wisdom at the current count. You know how much wisdom a full set of Totemic will harvest you.....5. It also has +55 mana and has hp along with other minor stats. This is not even the full set; several pieces have not been found yet. So while Im not sure about every set of Twilight Sea armor being better than its predecessor the Augur's set completely blows Totemic away!!

Oh, I would say every set of TS armour is better than it's old world equivalent, on top of this all classes get them and not just a select few like the old. They may not be *that* much better in AC but they all have more appropriate stats for the class and all races can wear.
It's just that a couple fall short on their BP's due to the introduction of Focus effects. I would take the Totemic BP over this mail for it's extended enhancement and keep the Totemic Helm for it's +5 Wis but other than that, there is no doubt this range of armour is better.
The question or arguement is, whether or not it is good enough to warrant the effort required. A group of 40's trying for peices of this stuff will likely pass 46 by some way before completing more than a couple of major parts...at that point surely plane raids would be more beneficial to the players than camping that last rare and random spawn in Scarlett Desert or wherever.

I farm this stuff for alts and friends with a 54 enc and dru and 53 warrior. I would not fancy taking on Tro Jegs in SD (250pnt DD proc) or Shadows in TS (150pnt Lifetap proc) with group of 40's.

as far as stats go this is only a little worse than nasthars... but considering the time and energy required fer the TS quests, I'd say the mail is worht 10k?

# Apr 08 2002 at 11:04 AM Rating: Decent
I have gotten jewels off of almost every creature in Dawnshroud. So far the jewels that have dropped are:
Star-large zelniak
Cloud-fungi shroom
Sun-Rockhopper
Astral-Large zelniak
Meteor-fungi shroom

hope this helps, if anyone has an accurate drop on the other pieces please post it...

Dose anyone that got the Cloud Jewel remember what kind of mushroom dropped it? and or about where in the zone it was that you got it?

I got this while Fighting at the Rockhopper cave. I think it dropped off a named rockhopper but I am not sure....

Jewels (Cloud, Sky, Sun, etc) can drop from any placeholder of any named critter that drops a quest piece. (IE, I've seen a normal thought leech drop a meteor jewel, a 'shroom drop a sun jewel, etc, etc, etc)

Good huntin'.... and if yer lookin' fer the Writ of Safid, good luck. This spawn has been broken on Quellious for awhile now (as well as the Thought Leech Overfiend dude, and the Corrupted HiveMistress).

If anyone on Quellious has a Writ of Safid, would be happy to trade/buy it. (got almost 2 10-slots full of twilight sea junk now, about to either sell it, or make another mule just for these pieces)

This armor.

This is one group quest armor for a mid 30 to early 40's quester...
Great armor for the enterprising shami or the main who wants to augment a new shaman without going overboard on items.

agreed..ive been collecting quest items from all over the place..drops from semi rare named in many zones, and believe me when i tell you, it takes a level 50+ to get some of these pieces grouped..a bit rediculous to attempt at anywhere below 35 because of the numerous zone you have to traverse and the undercons of many of the mobs that drop them..basically this is make a mule and collect the pieces as you go type of armor..if you actually try and go out to get each piece you may be looking for a long long time..
hmmm nice for shammy casters types

Not all shaman are uber large races... Don't forget about those "feeble" Iksar shaman. With a natural strength of only 70, my Iksar shaman used to need more than one strength BUFF to keep from being encumbered! I finally got to the point where the single strength buff is enough... man, keeping those Frenzy buffs up all the time can be a huge annoyance just to keep from being encumbered.

I hope all you shaman are happy with this though... Most of the other shaman-specific quest armor for the chest slot don't have any mana OR wisdom. :)
