Hmm, not lore, very nice. Two of theese for 240 block skill, that's not a shame :)

unfortunately the skill bonuses do not stack, so you only get 10% mod total even with 2 of these equipped.
laminate bracer block skill

it does not add 10 percent to the amount of block skill *as in raising your numbers* it multiplies the number of times you block more in a battle... for instants if you block 100 times in a long battle (pls just an example) then you would have the possiblility of blocking 110 times.. it does not raise your base block skill as in a numeric value.. put it on look at your numbers .. take it off look in your skill list at your numbers it does not change in value.. it does though modify the amount of blocks in a single round

You know that made no sense. Your skill number never change like with your stat numbers. Putting this bracer on with a 200 block skill would be like haveing a 220 block skill.

making and item like this aviable at that lvl dosent make sense with hard cap or soft cap or what ever you guys say im pretty sure i wont give away one of my kael armor quest bracelet for this thing now would you ? veratn sucks at developing items plain simple
RE: verant is stupid

And you suck at spelling. That makes you two even.

Do some math and figure out how much 10% block will help damage mitigation. Um a lot more than maybe 5 or 6ac.

Oh by the way, since the Luclin expansion, Verant doesn't even exist anymore. They were bought out and are now called Sony Online Entertainment. You don't even know who you're complaining about. Just shut up.

As said by one of the developers, his name slips my mind atm, skill increasing items will only increase your skill if it is not already maxed. Yes, I know, that makes no sense seeing as you must be high level to get and probable already have your skill maxed. But that is what he said. So, if what he said is true, this bracer is worthless unless your not maxed in blocking already. IMHO, stick with AC.

He didn't say if the skill was Maxed. He said if your skill was at the Hard Cap it won't go higher. Monk Block maxes at 230, Beastlord at 150. Both classes will benefit from the +10%, Monks will go to the Hard cap and Beastlords will go to 165. Might be worth losing some AC over.

I'm a little confused then. What is the hard cap? Isn't the hard cap the max you can get in a certain skill?

Supposedly 252. I never saw anyone from VI comment on this though.
#REDACTED, Posted: Mar 06 2002 at 10:19 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) this by far is the most UBER loot in the game hands down...10% to damage AVOIDANCE not mitigation, that is Supreme uberness, now only if we could get the Other bacer to have 10% Dodge or even Better 10% Riposte, Riposte.../drool
Oooooo...

Between this, the Medic Pack and all those lovely ulaks I can't wait until I can fight in Greig's End.
Perfect Monk Gear
# Mar 06 2002 at 7:26 PM Rating: Default
Now this, in my opinion, is perfect monk gear. No weight to worry about. Sure, AC is nothing special, but that block bonus... Gah, sometimes I wish us tanks had a little help there (without having to wait for discs to recharge ;)).

Would definately take this over a 15ac bracer at higher lvls. Way worth it. Before lvl 40... That's more debatable. But not by much. Then again, considering the lvl it takes to get this and the fact that it's no drop doesn't make that much of a consideration.

Sure, this item dosent have any other stats and 5ac isnt all that great. But as a 51 Monk, I can safely say from a visual stand point alone, I appear to be blocking more with this item then I was when using my other bracer. As to how much that +10% block helps, I dont know.

A Monk's Block skill is soft-capped at 230. The Hardcap for all skills and stats is 252. With this bracers, you'd be able to get your skill to the hard cap, which is impossible for all other monks without an item like this.
Saying that this item is not all that valuable is really a personal decision. But I would say, for soloing or in groups where you're taking alot of damage, this bracer would be better than some random stats.

Jarnin, you sure the hard cap for stats is 252, I could have sworn I read something on the Safehouse saying it was 255 for stats. Definitely right on skills though. Two of the best rogue piercers in the game get a %backstab modification which takes rogues up to the hard cap in backstab skill. I think other than the %meditate skill mod, Verant did a pretty good job with this new idea.
