Is this temporary or common or what?

I agree that default search NOT look for legends items.
I play legends because i want to have a more dynamic content, doing hte same things as everyone else is boring.
but this forum is not about legends it is about the item listed at the top of the page so lets keep it civil we are ment to be adult's (well most of us)
For those that do not know what legends is and a opinion of a legends player.
The level of support i have recived is excelent and always talking to a GM saves a lot of confusion. i always seem to manage to get a answer inside of a hour, but what do you expect for $40 a month?
The Gm's Are all very helpful people and do what ever they can to help you with out breaking very important rules (which if you have worked in game support at all the rules make great sense)
I can understand the frustration at the regular server players at the seemed lack of support compared to what the premium players get. but htink of this you pay a 1/4 of the premium holders, get the same bandwith of connection and the same level of support (if not better) than has been recived for the last 3 years. that $10 a month does not just goto vereant, it goes to the ISP's SOE use to support the game, it pays the electricity bill, it pays the maintence staff that keep the physical equipment in check. so when it all adds up it might be a lot of money but there are a lot of costs involved. Hell if i could run a MMORPG server from my garage for as cheap as a lot of the players percive it to cost i would be very rich. but its not such a true storey.
I've had my say i have been meaning to say it for quite a while. im done.

Sorry to interrupt the ongoing debate about the merits of Legends with some actualy information, but here goes:

This great (dare I say uber?) item drops every time from the captain in Oasis. The captain spawns every two hours. About an hour after the last time he is killed, the first mate spawns. Thirty minutes later, the second mate spawns, and then the captain himself spwans. The first mate drops some unique mid level gear like a face mask and a blood soaked headband. The second mate only drops a bone which I presume is used in a quest I have yet to discover (post here if you know).

All three of these mobs spawn just north of the pier. The captain is mid 20s to mid 30s level when he first spawns. He heads north along the shore and in the water until the just past the pier where he turns right and heads towards the lake. He walks around the lake until he is due west of the specter island. He then despawns. A few second later the first and second mates respawn in the tower. A few seconds after that the captain respawns just west of the tower.

It is a good idea to have someone clear or train the specters away from the tower before the captain despawns. This will make it a lot easier to take him. The captain is about level 42 when he respawns. Even a small group can kill him without the specters around. My guess is that I could solo him myself as a 51 necro because every spell I have thrown his way has stuck so far including fear.

The captain always drops the Medallion but can also drop a decent secondary item such as a skull chopper sword of some such. I got the Medallion on my third try. I would have to say that it is the single best item I have picked up so far and one of the easiest to get.

Before you all complain about this being only available on Legends, I would like to remind you that this content should show up on your peasant servers in three months, according to Verant. At least you will know what to get and how to get it as soon as the event starts instead of running around in total confusion like most of us on the Legends server.

alright, while i don't play on legends and don't know anybody who made the switch, it is kind of annoying to hear everyone rant and rave and defend it. the way i see it, if you are wiling to cough up $40 a month for it thats your business. while that might make people seem like verant's "lovechildren" or "idiots" you could think about it as they want a more comprehensive EQ experience. while admittedly i feel regular servers should be getting "enhanced" customer service (altho i must admit i know not what that entails) many interesting things that go on legends makes sense to be legends only...for instance having items named after you. seeing as how its named legends clearly a weapon named after you could be considered legendary. while its just a money-making scheme for verant im sure its a very interesting server. and also think about it this way if FoH, Vindication or whatever resident offending uber guild on your server moves over to legends, why complain about it? i can certainly see moving many of the uber people to another server a good thing.

Where does this drop on the Legends Server? The stinking Oasis of Marr off a 42 mob, where on a normal server the only loot is a Lockjaw Tunic? You get what you pay for I guess. Do the GMs get together and help guilds take down big mobs as part of the customer service as well? Do they hold your hand while you cross the Western Wastes? I tend to think "legends" will be a spectacular failure. A bunch of rubes with too much money standing around waiting for a GM event to happen, which will apparently be every 3 minutes, and probably the entire server will flood that zone to see what the handouts are. I prefer LESS contact with GMs, not more.

Why not post legends loot? Its still EQ loot.
As someone said before, it will eventually reach normal servers too.

I do however think that there should be a more noticable marking saying that items are definately legends items, took me a few minutes to notice it.

i might sound like an idiout, but what is the legonds, i haven't her much about it till i just see this thing andit said legonds on it and everybody is complaining about it, dont get me wrong this is an awsome piece of equipment, butif i can't get it, why post it.

Like Verant said, eventually alot of this stuff will filter it's way to your servers. Please stop whining.

Dont Post Legend loot!!!! Give them a seperate area to look up there own stuff, dont mix it in w/ the rest! Arghhh

Why not have a section for Legends as a distinc game ? After all I've got no beef with people playing 'Legends' but also Zero interest in the drops there. We all know that Verant is commercially driven and will do their utmost to make Legends appealing to the doubters. Far be it from me to suggest they will flood the place with uber items and quests and then cut right back on them in a few months time ....

If your so beastly as to be on the Legends then why is that little arrow cursor on the pic?

P.S. Btw to you Allakhazam; I'm sure that most, if not all of the players on the "regular servers" do not want to see "Legendary Lewt". The solution is simple, offer an Uber premium service for only $15.95 a month that shows drops off the Legends server.-Thank You

Go there. Now. Awesome site, easily some of the funniest EQ stuff I've ever seen. Not a happy little flower myself, but viewing their site sure did give me warm fuzzies.

problem is... fires of heaven is on a pvp server.. by that insanely good pvp'ing shmn with a funny @$$ website, think he had a bard before and had fun in oasis.

But the point was this...
I say if you don't submit name of mob and zone then your submission doesn't count and gets a good SHIFT-DEL.
