Best Way to Raise Faction

Start by killing King Kazon Stormhammer in South Kaladim. He has a spawn timer of around 4.5 minutes. The negative hits for killing this king can be resolved pretty easily. The -50 hit to Kazon Stormhammer faction is fixed delivering bone chips in North Kaladim via this quest (no negative hits). Storm Guard -50 is fixed from killing goblins if you don't care about Clan Runnyeye faction, or orcs if you don't care about Indigo Brotherhood faction.

You can continue until maxed, or else switch to Clurg's Revenge once you hit high indiff/amiable. This is a slower approach than killing King Kazon Stormhammer, but extremely easy to repair by running Bone Chips (Kaladim) and Bottle of Red Wine

In case anyone had thought of trying it with a dark elf for the Stein of Moggok quest, the Hide trick (which I will not describe here) does NOT produce a high enough faction to complete this quest. You will need either to have the Alliance spell, or to improve your Clug faction via other quests first.

Yes, your faction with Clurg has to be at the high end of Indifferent before he will give you the quest. Hide or invis just produces the very low end of indifferent, which is insufficient.

Little Update
# Mar 30 2002 at 2:39 PM Rating: Decent
But, there is numerous quests you can do in Kaladim to raise faction back up with the King. Don't fret. :)

Fake profile much? Pretty much every clickable there is for warriors, better hp then Furor, all languagues maxed, all trade skills save for one, and the thing that proves it is the "123 hand to hand skill" whereas I'm pretty sure it caps at 100 skill for warriors.
Dwarf or Clurg?
# Mar 30 2002 at 2:38 PM Rating: Decent
Well, clurg is one guy, for the most part is useless. But, I took the odd motive of getting him as high as he can possibly get. Killed this NPC about...damn, not sure how many times, and finally it said "Your faction with Clurg could not get any better."

Well, then you just go back to CB, bash orcs like crazy, raise stormguard faction again. Get to ally, tada! Only problem is King Stormhammer, not sure about him. Haven't ran into any problems in Kaladim though.

It would be nice if someone could provide accurate advice on how a gnome can get the Stein of Mogguk. I cannot get past the Ogguk guards to turn in lizard tails or meat to raise faction. I cannot find Jarlin Meadowgreen to get bread for Murpa. (I have the Bartender's Compendium).

I am a warrior who's God is Rallos Zek. I was helping a friend kill chief goonda to try and get the earrings.. i did not pay much attention, but latter realized that i was getting a message saying that my faction with Rallos Zek got worse.. well.. need less to say i stopped hunting him as much. can i raise my faction back up by killing that Dimlore Stormhammer? Any info would be helpful as i can not find anything showing how to raise Rallos Zek faction.

I do the stein of mogguk quest with my druid all the time. takes me about 45 minutes to port all over the place and go from a naked start to stein in hand. I have ally faction in ogguk now. You just have to do all the tedious faction quests, and anyone can do it. it is just easier for an enchanter because of the faction spells.
Increasing Faction
# Sep 17 2001 at 3:48 PM Rating: Default
As a Troll SK I have increased faction with Warriors from Dubious to Amiable with a LOT of lizard tails. Lizard Tails and Lizard meat say they increase your faction with Clurg but despite going up 3 faction levels with Warriors and turning in about 100 lizard meat and 40 pickled Frogloks Clurg faction is still dubious.

It takes a LOT of froglogs and lizards to get this faction so make sure you really want it before you try.
How do i get it

I am a Warrior halfling but how do i get this also have a dark elf
can wizards do the quest?
# Aug 13 2001 at 2:27 AM Rating: Default
I am a darkelf wizard and really want to do this quest myself, I don't want to buy the Stein. I already have the book I need to give to Clurg, but my faction with him is too low. So I went to CT and looted some Lizard Meat so I can give it to Ogre Kroona (dunno if I spelled it right) at Oggok Warriors Guild. I even got a Wolf Form before turning in the meat, and guess what dumb ogre said? "Thanks, I won't help you." Now what am I supposed to do to raise my faction? Is there any way a non-enchanter character can do this quest? Are there other means of raising Clurg faction? Can I do the bread leaves quest as a wizard to raise my faction with him?

Each and every help appreciated.

Bread Delivery Quest
# Jul 23 2001 at 8:27 AM Rating: Decent
Give Jarlen Meadowgreen (a centaur in SK, located at 91, -2251) 2gp and he will give you a "Bag of Bread Loaves" (LORE NO-DROP). Give the "Bag of Bread Loaves" to various innkeepers for faction.

In this case, give the "Bag of Bread Loaves" to Innkeeper Morpa (an ogre in Feerrott, located at 1145, -131). You can do this even if you /con dubious to Morpa.

someone said to me she disappeared after patch (7. Nov. 2001)
what can I do now ?
just she has moved another place ?
or... just she had a trip ?

The bags are Lore, so you can't have more than one.

This is a great quest for any Druid... Bind yourself in the Feerott next to Morpa (unless your are 24th lvl and can TP there) and then TP to NK. It's a 5 minute run from the Druid ring in NK to the Centaurs in SK. You can do it over and over. As a 21st Druid I made between 3/4 and 1 full blue bub each time I did the quest, plus 2pp profit (on average)

This is how I plan on making my next few levels... I'll keep doing it till the XP slows down a bit. If it's still good at 24th, it will be even faster because you can bind at the Centaurs and TP to the Feerott

Is killing the NPC or performing the quests the only way to faction up with this guy? Are there no Mobs that will increase this faction?

While hunting seafury clops on their isle in OOT, a named ogre spawned by the deserted druid ring lookin thing. Was a Mudtoe, but don't remember his first name. Booga, maybe? Killed him, and took several bad hits (for an evil race, anyway), including Clurg.

Also killing the chief (or helping to kill him)of the ogres in west karana--Chief Goonda--will lower your faction with Clurg.

After helping to kill him, oh, about 5 times, I messed up my faction with Clurg sufficiently enough to lose the barkeep's compendium and not receive the stein of moggok. I had even cast benevolence on him and was using ogre illusion. He conned indifferent to me, but I got the message about needing to do something more to gain his trust. (And i had done this quest several times and had been amiable to him with ogre illusion previously.)

So, enchanters, be careful!

How can I increase my faction with Clurg the bartender. I'm a lvl 17 high elf trying the stein quest. I can only get him to Con Apprehensively, I want him to be indifferent. Is there any way to increase his con? I have illusion Dark elf on, and cast Alliance on im.

There are several newbie quests you can do that will increase faction with Clurg, look under the quest faction section in Allakhazam's page.

Also, Indifferent won't do it. I did the entire quest and walked up to Clurg with the manual, he was indifferent. He took the Compendium, but said he didn't like me enough. Lost all that work.

Do the newbie quests.

The Stein quest is indeed doable at Indifferent faction with Clurg, but it is well above the bottom of the Indifferent range.

My Halfling Druid conned Indifferent in wolf form (with the default starting Oggok factions) and Clurg wouldn't give her the quest. After feeding 48 Pickled Frogloks to the Chef (meaning that I did that quest 16 times, since it takes three per quest) I was still indifferent, but Clurg gave me the quest. After gathering the ingredients and returning, I got the Stein - and only then did I become Amiable to Clurg (in Wolf Form, of course).

Try the Pickled Frogloks quest.

https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=290

You will need to have a fairly high baking skill to make the pickled froglock Chef Dooga craves, but you can do this quest with her even when you are dubious to her and Clurg. (They are both on Clurg faction.)

I suggest you wait for the Illusion Ogre spell... you'll con more favorably with it and you'll also have Benevolence by that time to increase your faction more.
