Well Mr 'Dafdaf', you can check faction with Infiltrators and Traitors of Ashengate with Zhubis the Griffon Tamer in Direwind Cliffs. Besides some various NPCs during TSS raids (just speculation as I've never been on one yet) I'm fairly confident that Zhubis is the only NPC you can con to check your faction.
