Going off of a previous post about the numbers of mobs killed between factions, and I quote:

Indifferent to Amiable 70 kills (+/- 25)
Amiable to Kindly 350 kills (+/- 25)
Kindly to Warmly 200 kills (+/- 25)

This information was very helpful. I decided to keep track after I reached Kindly faction. After every train I killed I counted the number of corpses I looted and wrote it down in a spread sheet to keep track of. This is what I came up with:

Kindly to Warmly between 237 and 271 kills
Warmly to Ally between 304 and 348 kills

From Kindly to Warmly I spent most of my time in Noble's Causeway, with brief visits to Dranik's Scar and Wall of Slaughter.
From Warmly to Ally I spent all of my time in Noble's Causeway. I could pull trains of up to 30 mobs that give faction and mow them down then move on to the next spot. Ferans, Bazus, and Murkgliders did not give faction, but Dragorns, Kyv, Noc, Ikaav, and Akuan did, and there were plenty of those around. Levitate makes the terrain manageable and after killing close to 600 mobs there I found it pretty easy to navigate. I picked up a ton of gems (a little over 13k worth going from apprehensive to ally)and Flawed, Elaborate, and Intricate Defiant pieces for alts.

I hope this information helps. Good luck!

Well. Got my vest from AMV yesterday for my necro main.
Soon after i went and checked my faction, i was KoS. So i started the long faction grind. 7 hours, and 45 minutes later i am now max Ally with Dranik Loyalists, now i need to farm the gay fruit. I don't think that one will be as easy.

This is what happens when you put expansions out so fast without planing for what gonna happen when oow is 4 expansions back.you make a toon and hang out where everyone else is,and its not in oow.

when i first coned the armor guy in DS i was at scowl,lol.this account is 1.8 years old and we started raiding anguish like 6 months ago.so it took me 1.2 years of play to casualy get to kindly,what i coned just before i steped into anguish.on a good note.i think it only took like 7-10 raids in AoA to get to max ally.I think the bosses give ya huge faction hits.

I have seen it parsed out in places and it is around 5k mobs from scowl to max ally,if memory serves.

Ok I'm a 71 cleric and I've gone through Anguish a more than 6 times and we killed at least 2 to 3 mobs each time and I'm still dubiously to Trelak. Do I not get the faction hits if I don't cause damage even if I'm healing the tank?

You get faction hits if you are on the mob's agro list when it dies. If you have healing agro reduction AAs, the there is a good chance a lot of your healing is completely ignored - they reduce the chance of mobs _noticing_ your healing and if they don't notice, they don't agro.
I've done Anguish about 7 or 8 times, and I make a point of trying to get on as many monsters' agro as possible - spot heals, swinging a hammer until I hit etc. - I'm amiable atm. This is an annoying faction :-(

Do you get more Faction Hits in the higher level zones like WoS or MPG v/s DS?

I've heard it does vary by zone, can anyone confirm ?

Sure you slaughter faster in DS but if the mobs in MPG are giving you 6-10 hits per kill as well as actual XP then it might be worth it.

I don't know about that. When oow first came out I lived in NC for weeks farming runes for 4 bots. And my faction didn't move. Was the drunt/aggressive camp. I think there is 4 behind the quest npc and another 4 ahead of it. The drunt ph was another. I killed the murks to but dragorn were my primary targets. Pretty sure 1 faction hit is 1 faction hit. Unless it's an item hand in. I know it's unrelated but the Thurg quest hand ins did 50 faction. Who knows, maybe the quests here are the same.

I just hit ally. It took me roughly 415 kills to move from warmly to ally. Sorry, not sure on the numbers for other stages. I did one armor turn in (monk head piece). Spent the past week doing nearly nothing but faction work and managed to move from dubious to ally by killing thousands of low lvl mobs in Draniks. Good luck to everyone! Also, between kindly and warmly I turned in about 10 Kyv Hearts and 25 Seeping Murkglider Fluid's and it didn't really do me much good. Don't waste your money or time getting the quest items.

How many kills

I have been keeping track of how many mobs are needed to kill to get from one faction level to another. Unfortunately, I only started after Dubious.

Indifferent to Amiable 70 kills (+/- 25)
Amiable to Kindly 350 kills (+/- 25)
Kindly to Warmly 200 kills (+/- 25)

I added the +/- cause I would check every 25-50 mobs depending on time.

All faction was done in Dranik Scar at lvl 65 at the BF zone. Almost all mobs were LB cons.

As a Warrior, making sure you tag all mobs so you get the faction hit can be a challenge. I went to Lavastorm and purchased the Lvl 61 DoN Disc "Whirlwind Blade". I used that a great deal while factioning because it does a single atk dmg on all mobs in a small radius of you. Make sure they are nicely bunched up when you use it. It does generate good aggro so hopefully you have a decent healer.

Factioning this way makes it go by very fast. In total, I spent maybe 5-6 days (3-5 hrs per session).

Anyone else seem like they lost faction with the new expansion? I am certain I was at warmly, remember doing little victory dance, having a little party, etc... about a month before DoD came out. Went back tonight to do turn in for boots, and am at kindly. There's mighty few ways to lower faction for loyalist, and I've not engaged in any of those, at least to my knowledge. Faction Raid

Something I don't understand is why people go to NC for faction raids when DS has just as many if not more of the faction mobs that are much easier to kill.

Faction Raids are the best way to raise loyalist faction. Just grab at least 1 high level enchanter. Prefer 2 tho. A couple wizzys, dru's, clerics, bards, and anyone esle wanting to come...Grab about 40 nocs, ukuns, kyvs and AE stun/nuke/dot em down. It's REALLY easy and infact quite fulfilling lol.

But back to my question...why do NC where there is more of a risk and less mobs. You get credit for the faction hit regardless of the mobs level. I went from dubious to amibly in about 3 hours of Faction raiding in DS at the bloodfields zoneline. Best to setup there. Less traffic and risk of killing people.

Maybe because of the exp? Raid leadership points are very very slow to get, so i can see any raid leader wanting to raid someplace with mobs with exp to make the trawl that little faster.

Having said which, they'd still be better doing the greenies and then spending the extra time they gain elsewhere.

I run three Chr's I decided to use the Shaman to do all the Faction Quest turn ins, so Every Feran Skull, Stolen Clan dodad etc, he has turned in, So in theory he should be ahead by a fair chunk. sure enough he turned Kindly before everyone else... by about 20 faction hits *sigh*

He had done at Amiable

8 Feran skulls
4 Stolen Clan Crests

So I recon these Quests give you 2 or 3 Faction hits per turn in, which given the raratly of the items is piontless.

# Feb 24 2005 at 12:30 PM Rating: Good
This is the faction list that is often used, can't confirm the ranges myself. 1 points represents 1 normal kill. Depending on faction you are working on you MAY get more points from 1 kill. (e.g. raid mobs and such).

Ally = 1450 to 2500
Warmly = 1100 to 1450
Kindly = 750 to 1100
Amiable = 150 to 750
Indifferent = 0 to 150
Apprehensive = 0 to -150
Dubious = -150 to -750
Threateningly = -750 to -1100
Ready to Attack = -1100 to -2500

The original list is:
-2000 to -726, scowls
-725 to -501, threatening
-500 to -101, dubious
-100 to -1, apprehensive
0 to 99, indifferent
100 to 499, amiable
500 to 699, kindly
700 to 1099, warmly
1100 to 2000, ally

These were the values as discovered using SEQ, before it was nerfed a couple years back. These values were the physical numbers as stored on the server and did not reflect a "per-kill" value. The "base" faction is often 1, but does not necissarly mean all are. It is possible these values have changed in the years, but these values were definalty confirmed at one point.

I've seen a different list, and this has always seemed to work for me, but I haven't counted closely enough to say conclusively which is right. I am reasonably sure that Apprehensive is only 100 hits though...

Ally : 1100 to 2800
Warmly : 750 to 1099
Kindly : 500 to 749
Amiable : 100 to 499
Indifferent : 0 to 99
Apprehensive : -100 to -1
Dubious: -500 to -101
Threatening: -750 to -501
Scowls: -2800 to -751

This seems to be the one to go by if my experience is accurate.

I counted my kills going from Amiable to Kindly: 381 normal kills, 8 named kills. So roughly 400 to go from Amiable to Warmly which would seem to agree with the list Miakiss posted.

The range from max KOS to theatening is huge (over 2000 hits), so it depends on how far into KOS one starts. From what I have read it seems as though it's around 1000 below threatening.

I think threatening to dubious is around 250 hits, so you should get there soon.

Correction to the above:
I've started on this myself and have been logging my faction hits.
After 600 hits I am at dubious, so the starting faction must be higher than I thought. I'm not sure why you are still threatening, unless different races/religions/classes have different base factions (which seems unlikely), or I have been getting more than one faction hit per kill in The Bloodfields (also unlikely).

Another possibility is that the named give bigger hits. I have killed around 12 named as part of those 600 hits.

Edit - Finally hit Warmly. It was around 1600 faction hits altogether.

Faction Raida

That should of been titled "Faction Raids". I hope this helps. I have recently been in two faction raids. I found that if you go to Dranicks Scar, where mobs are lower levels (40-55), that you can raid form with several grps, and be killing 8 to 20 of these mobs at once. We had, on Christmass day on Fennin Ro, 3 groups for about 4 hours. We had 3 full time pullers. Pullers would wack each mob one time each, pull to grp, then go get more. The loot drops for augs was good, as was the loot for tribute. We were getting about 30 faction hits to 50 hits an hour I think. In 9 hours of raiding, in two groups, I went from Threatening to Apprehensive. In about 5 more hours of raiding like this, I went from Apprehensive to Amiably. Now I still have to go through Amiably to kindly, then into warmly for Exp armor and to Ally for Raid armor. I am guessing that it takes 3700 to 4000 of the right kind of mobs, which on average gives about 2400 faction messages. I think that is how many faction hits you need to go from KoS to Ally.

Is it possible I am missing something here or do I need to kill more mobs?

Keep at it. Guildie got his up to warmly about a week ago. We are both DE Necros so this gives me hope that it is doable.

I have been working on mine for a month. Probably got about 40 hours, easy, and I'm still amiable. Saturday I spent 6 hours tagging some other groups mobs in DS. I went from Indiffernet to Amiable. Yesterday I put in 7.5 hours in Bloodlands with a full group clearing one whole side of the zone. We went up and down the road clearning everything (3 named camps). My faction never moved off amiable but I sense Kindly is just a few hours away. I'll probably spend all day/night Friday (Thanksgiving holiday) farming faction.

This is the first time I have ever farmed faction and believe me it is very discouraging! Keep at it and good luck.

The zone was actually "The Bloodfields" ( http://eqbeastiary.allakhazam.com/search.shtml?zone=260 ) that you were in. I have been grouping there recently and it seems a good majority of the mobs have Loyalists factions:

Ikaavs, the golem looking mobs, etc.

A Noc Darklurch 60 - 62 Monster
A Noc Flashblade 61 - 61 Monster
A Subjugated Stoneworker 63 - 63 Monster
A Twisted Stoneworker 63 - 63 Monster
An Elite Ikaav Detainer 70 - 70 Monster
An Enslaved Earthmover 68 - 68 Monster
An Ikaav Deathbeckoner 69 - 69 Monster
An Ukun Slaughterhound 65 - 65 Monster

as well as many others I am sure, cannot recall all names atm, very tired, lol

Raising this faction is not for the faint of heart.

I spent nearly 2 weeks factioning in Draniks Scar (Noc, Kyv and Ukun - any type). At the same time avoiding Dragorn as much as possible. <edit: Dragorn in other zones may give positive Dranik Loyalists faction>

Kyv Hearts run about 52p off NPC sellbacks and Seeping Murkglider Fluid is 200p. These are SMALL faction hits (teeny-tiny in fact). So while the faction is cumulative, I wouldnt waste the money, its faster to kill.

KOS NPC with Faction Quests:
Draniks Scar: Vorskahn - Have a Heart
Nobles Causeway: Gorvoroth - Thin out the Murkgliders
Wall of Slaughter: Jarekiv - Collect Feran Skulls
Wall of slaughter: Verow - Retrieve the Insignia Crests

Warmly NPC with General Quests:
Draniks Scar: Bolodakan
Draniks Scar: Kirostall
Wall of Slaughter: Sandak
Ruined City of Dranik: Jurrock

Warmly needed - Teir 1 armor quests
Draniks Scar: Shorvock - Chain Armor
Nobles Causeway: Vorkiev - Plate Armor
Wall of Slaughter: Korshawn - Silk Armor
The Bloodfields: Barowsar - Leather Armor

ALLY needed - Tier 2 armor quests:
Draniks Scar: Tibor - Chain Armor
Nobles Causeway: Nerask - Silk Armor
Wall of Slaughter: Trelak - Plate Armor
The Bloodfields: Lenarsk - Leather Armor

Faction Progression
Ready to Attack
Threateningly
Dubious
Apprehensive
Indifferent
Amiable
Kindly
Warmly

although sometimes you look out from the east wall and see nothing but dragorn so it makes it easier especially if your in a group to thin out and kill everything even rats and murkgliders. if your group kills fast then kill all the green and LB crap in the zone or go up to bloodfields zone line where they are LB to 65 only probem with up there that big ukun spawns and is a named WOS mob like hitter hit me in the 1000's and 900's i believe. maybe i'll get a group together of guildies in the higher levels that want faction and just clear out all the greenies in the vally

Why are you avoiding the dragorns? I've yet to kill a dragorn who lowered my faction. We are seeing the dragorns who sold out to the invading army.

If he was hunting in Dranik's Scar it would have been inefficient to kill dragorn because the dragorn in this zone do not give positive or negative faction hits to loyalists making killing them a waste of time.

It's true dragorns give no positive or negative draniks loyalist faction, but you'll still be needing to clear them out eventually if you keep wanting to kill kyv's, noc's, and ukun's, because eventually all mobs will repop as dragorns if you keep avoiding them, then there will be nothing but a field of roving dragorns.

Usually a good idea to get a small group together, 2-4 people (full group is fine too but its usually hard to find 6 people wanting to work on faction at the same time), and just kill all mobs you see, doing it that way you will see even more of the faction mobs because your not tip-toeing around the zone avoiding dragorns, making long pulls, or waiting a long time for a dragorn to roam away so you can pull a kyv or something.

But I would agree, the best place to faction is in draniks scar up near the bloodfield zones, nearly ALL mobs up there are noc, kyv, and ukuns, they are low level, die quickly, and respawn fast.

Not correct... Depends on zone, I'm assuming you are only talking about DS, cause in Causeway the dragorns give positive loyalist faction
