my exp with this faction
# Apr 01 2003 at 2:15 PM Rating: Excellent
I am now a lvl 52 druid who killed these dwarves for a very long time. My faction with them could not get any worse. They still con light blue to me, and will attack me if i do something stupid like run by one. This faction has not affected me in terms of use of Kaladim, quests, or anything else. I still can bank in Kaladim, and sell to dwarven merchants without problems.
The only bad things from this faction are (1) useing the docks to go to places like OOT or TD, (2) porting into BB only to have someone train them by because they still havn't learned to kite yet, and (3) just plain annoying.
I now have started my epic, in all the research i have done, i have never seen this faction on the druid epic. I do wish i could either raise it or have VI wipe it from the game since it does nothing. Just hate the fact of having to watch out for a few number of mobs in a zone i could own. ;)

I have been killing these dwarves since level 34 (as of this writing, i'm level 44) and i'm pretty sure i got at least one more level ahead of me still killing them. When i heard about the possibility of it messing up my epic quest i did a little research, and this is what i found out. For one part of your epic quest, you DO have to go into Kaladim, but the person you have to deal with inside the city is Kinlo Strongarm, and he is on stormguard faction. As long as you are not KOS to the guards in BB, then you should be fine. Just invis as soon as you zone in, find Kinlo, drop invis, do your thing, then either re-invis, or gate out. Should not be a problem. Also, if you just insist on raising this faction, you can do the crushbone belt quest. This does help raise your faction with Kaladim Citizen, but its very slow, and those belts usually sell for about one plat each in GFay or CB. Gonna cost you a lot to fix it.
No quest raises kaladim citizen, but it is ONLY certain dwar

Kaladim citizen is a faction people always mix up with real dwarf factions like kaladim merchants.

The only npcs on kaladim citizen are ALL the female non merchants in butcherblock, with the axes and the same dwarf model. This is both the signus borans, delin, etc. There is also ONE male on it, back in the back of the dock area in a hut near the hut of a female on it. That is it. The only other two npcs on it are the two lower level dwarves on sister island in OOT by some stones ( a male and female)

I call this a "non real" dwarf faction, because it only affects these mobs THEMSELVES. You only lose kaladim citizen while killing them and the faction is ONLY with them. It has NOTHING to do with the druid epic or ANY other quest, nor ANY mob in kaladim.

My 56 druid has been kos to this faction since level 34 and is the belle of the ball in kaladim with factions ranging from indiff to max allied. I often shop at the huts right outside kaladim where two of the kaladim citzen axe girls jump me, then I promptly root them and epic dot them whereupon they die while I shop. When done shopping I loot their corpses and sell what is on them to the merchant right there.
Epic?

Someone told me that killing these dwarves would cause problems for getting the druid epic later on. Can anyone verify this? Or hopefully, tell me its not true.. :)

Raising Kaladim Faction
# Jul 01 2002 at 12:11 PM Rating: Default
I believe that I remember a message that my faction with Kaladim Citizens raised when I freed dwarf slaves in Crushbone. Hunt the Slavers for keys. Locate the various slaves who spawn as either Wood Elves, High Elves or Dwarfs. Hail them or try a numbered key and they will tell you which number they need. It's been quite a while since I was doing this, but I'm pretty sure I remember positive faction results.

Killing deathfist orcs will not raise Kaladim Resident faction. "Commons Residents" refers to residents of East and West Commons... I dont think DF orcs affect any factions on Faydwer at all.

I have petitioned this before but the only response I get is they cannot fix this faction. They suggest exploring other continents. Real helpful isn't it?
at what point iwill they attack?
# Mar 21 2002 at 1:44 AM Rating: Decent
I was was wondering, at what point will they attack? Threatning or Ready to Attack? Sounds goofy but some one told me it was threatning, seems to me ready to attack would be it but hey!I am a woody so religion shouldnt figure into it. anyone know?

Mobs/NPCs will attack if your faction with them is either "scowls at you ready to attack" or "glares at you threateningly." Note that this may not apply if you are much higher level than them.

Some mobs seem to attack you no matter what your level, however. Examples are bixie drones, and some undead like skeletons.

RE: at what point iwill they attack?

"glares at you threateningly" = kill on sight.
if they are green they might not attack unless you sit down, at which point you are vulnerable and they will take a cheap shot at you (which will also do max damage).
scowling just indicates that they consider you even worse, so it'll take more work to get away from that if possible.
as was pointed out, some mobs will attack you regardless of level. if you attack any mob and then con them, they will either be glaring our scowling at you... depending on how they considered you before you engaged them. if you run sufficiently far away and wait a while, they will 'forget' you attacked them, and will con like normal. how long it takes depends on what exactly how much hate you built up when you attacked them.

Blyle Bundin
# Feb 18 2002 at 6:09 PM Rating: Default
oops, forgot to mention that his level is very low, I'd say around 10 or so.
quest npc not to kill
# Feb 18 2002 at 6:05 PM Rating: Default
Blyle Bundin is a dwarf ex-stormguard npc that wanders around just outside the entrance to the port. He is a quest npc that you can kill for good faction with Kaladim merchants the Stormguard and the King but he gives a faction hit against, you guessed it, Kaladim Citizens. Also, if you do want to take him out (you can get fine steel weapons off him), don't get him near the guards. For some reason they like this little traitor just enough to save his rotten hide from you. Don't ask me, I didn't make up this quest..lol. By the way, the quest starts at the npc standing in the seats of the arena inside Kaladim.

So far as anybody seems to know, you cannot raise this faction. You can only lower it.

KaladimCitizen
# Jan 21 2002 at 5:35 AM Rating: Excellent
There are 13 dwarves around the zome that have the same faction: "KaladimCitizen".

1. Signus Boran, in a small hut next to the chessboard (loc 880,-2680)
2. Magnus Boran, in the port, standing on the docks
3. Glorin Binfurr, in the port, standing on the docks
4. Doran Glosglen, in the port, inside a hut
5. Gann Dunbull, in the port, inside a hut
6. Ganbar Dundam, standing inside a stone ring near the road that lead from the port to Kaladim (loc 2043,1502)
7. Darm Dunbam, standing near Ganbar Dundam
8. Delin Ironblend, standing near the guard's hut on the road between Kaladim and the crossroad, one junction before the crossroad (loc -138,0)
9. Gibi Bilgum, inside the first hut on the road fro; Kaladim to the crossroad
10. Alum Bilgum, standing together with Gibi Bilgum
11. Lann Dabldrin, standing in a hut near the beach, on the way from the druid ring to the docks
12. Dalbar Tarbrind, Standing in the hut with Lann Debldrin
13. Den Ironblend, standing outside the hut of Lann Dabldrin and Dalbar Tarbrind

Except for Gann Dunbull, all the dwarves are females

Having seen some of the effects of dwarf hunting on some higher level friends, I've begun to suspect that the 'Citizen' type factions are a sort of all-encompassing faction for a city.

What gives me this idea is from a wood elf druid friend... he hunted dwarves in his 40s and trashed Kaladim Resident faction. Thing is, the guards are still at Ally with him. Merchants, on the other hand, are KoS. CB Orcs and most goblins give Storm Guard faction, but merchant faction is a bit tougher to get (Have to go inside and quest, not just kill stuff). It may be possible that other kills balanced out the guard faction, but since little or nothing was done to save merchant fac, he dropped.

There's no real way to prove this, unfortunately, except by doing the Edvard Tommels Gnoll Scroll quest *a lot*, and checking the faction on NPCs known to be on a different faction (corrupt guards, Steel Warriors, and Order of Three, for example).

Of course, I may be wrong, and this faction may simply handle people like Trantor Everhot who isn't a merchant, a cleric, paladin, warrior, rogue, or the king. Seems a little odd to me, though, to have a faction like that. Not that a multi-faction isn't odd either.

Stew your brains on that one, and if you get results, I'd love to hear them.

Mercants are on Merchants of Kaladim, warrior guild and guards are on Stormguard (save a few) Miners guild ### is the rogue guild (the bank, but NOT the dwarven bandits in BB) Hope this helps.

My Druid has been killing Dwarfs for many levels now, and her Kaladim Citizen faction could not get any worse. She has not had a problem with anyone in Kaladim, and frequently makes bank runs there and hasn't had any problems with any of the merchants.

Note that there are Dwarfs (e.q. the male fisherman) who are on a different faction than the Dwarfs on Kaladim Citizen. If your "high level friends" got sloppy or greedy and killed these other dwarves, then I could see where they would have problems with merchants, etc.

Anyone KNow?

Anyone know how I can raise faction with the Kaladim Citizens? Long story but I got hit preety bad the other day in terms of faction in my home city. Thanks
RE: Anyone KNow?
# Nov 18 2003 at 9:10 AM Rating: Decent
Actually, there is no known way to raise this faction, but there are also no known members of this faction within Kaladim, nor any other hometown. Therefore, hunting the dwarves on this faction would not have made you KoS in your hometown. I am presuming your hometown to be Kaladim, in which case you need to improve your Stormguard, Merchants of Kaladim and Miner's Guild factions in order to not be KoS there, all of which are possible thru various quests and killing of bandits, goblins, krags (chicks, elders, etc), and others out in Butcherblock.

At the time that I write this nobody seems to know of a way to raise this faction.

Also killing Dwarfs in BB
# Nov 23 2001 at 9:26 PM Rating: Default
Killing the dwarfs around ButcherBlock Mountains also lowers this faction. These are dwarfs such as Den and Delin Ironblend etc etc ... NOT the ones holding fishing poles but the ones that are usually found at camps.

I hope this helps...
