You do indeed see much of Mayong Mistmoore...in the Plane of Hate.
Though several choose not to believe it, and it is indeed your choice to believe it or not, Mayong Mistmoore is the Maestro of Rancor.
Why do I say this? Well the first reason is because it is so. Second reason is because of the amounts of in game lore that point to it, including a GM event that involved Innoruuk, in a fit of rage, grabbing at Mistmoore and stating "You shall serve me for all eternity"...or at least something along these lines.
Mayong Mistmoore, as most of you know, has an undying love for music. He has pianos across his castle and has gypsies constantly playing music for him. It appears that this music is the only thing Mistmoore has left that brings him any kind of joy. Therefore, to torment him, Innoruuk is forcing him to compose and play music for him.
There are two people he hates more than anyone else across the planes and Norrath itself:
1) Innoruuk
and
2) Himself
He despises and wants Innoruuk dead more than anything, however his soul is now bound to the Dark Prince, and therefore he can only wish that Lanys T'Vyl will one day undo the "curse" he has.
This is why Mayong Mistmoore is no longer in the Castle, and this is why you no longer "see him".

Agents of Mistmoore
Most notably, this faction is the Drachnids in both Fironia Vie and the Dreadlands. Most creatures in Castle Mistmoore are also aligned with this faction.As per the name, it is aligned with Mayongg Mistmoore.

Very well-put, but in light of recent events, it seems you are completely wrong. Not a terrible conclusion to reach, though.

In North Karana the bard at the spires gives good MM faction. Same for the bards in South karana. However if you ever pass through Erudin there is a bard at the porter to inside the castle that you will be kos to (same goes for any npc bard in any city/area).
Hunting in Howling Stones, getting max faction (as a tunare wood elf) with mayong mistmoore caused me to be non kos in MM (I was apprehensive and couldn't raise it further). Even tho I never got an 'Agent of Mistmoore has gotten better' from HS, it appears it is indeed tied to Mayong faction.
To the person that said they got a quest from Mayong, you either got it 3 years ago, are lying to seem cool or have found where mayong is now. I say this because he, 3 years ago, was alive had an entire script done and went to sleep in his coffin, in his room, in Mistmoore Castle.

Well i can tell ya why Mr Mayong Mistmoore him self gives a quest my friends and im pretty sure you need to have good faction with him believe it or not! Another reason is on pvp servers having good faction with mm give you a place to hide out or loung safley if your evil dark elf. You can also launch attacks from mm on the nuets and goods when they come there to hunt if you have good faction its would be very effective if things went bad for ya just retreat deeper into mm and trust me enough mm mobs can take just about anyone yes even the sixtys wich leavs you well protected my dark friend.OHYA there was a person that said no need for mm faction you destroy faction with bards, bards are everywhere and mm isnt. well i cant tell ya how wrong you are! Mayong Mistmoore is everywhere in this game he is like a demi god open your eyes my friend dont be blinded by the light mayong has corrpted norrath everywhere you look around you and you better believe he is a major part of the game and youll be seeing more of him, i leav ya with some things to think about.

Well, I am an Ogre and I now can't bank in Neriak. I think that this is because of me slaughtering the drachnids in DL. If there is any way to raise this faction, I would greatly appreceiate knowing about it.

NPC bards do raise faction in mist moore but you need to kill an insane amount of them not to be KOS. I gained 2 lv's killing one in HKH and I was still KOS in mistmoore. Frankly all the the quest items can be gotten simply by killing mobs there. They drop decent loot.

slaughtering stupid bards only raises faction with Mayongg Mistmoore and Ring of Scale not with agents of mistmoore. so there is no way to raise faction with the agents of mistmore

for those wondering why you would want good faction in mistmoore::: so you can go there and get a lot of the quest items, since MANY of them drop there. ie... werewolf talon, the sword hilt in the spa, gypsie lutes, and so on.

i have looked on alot of sites and i have not seen anything on how to raise the faction "agents of mistmoore" why verant has a faction in the game that cant be raised is beyond me. it would be nice if someone could prove me wrong so that i can raise this faction.

Bards are by far the weakest class in the game and I slaughter them on a daily basis, if i could be non kos to drachnids, who gives a crap what tomas two tone thinks of me?

Why not befriend the Mayong though? The Drachnids are fairly deadly, might help

What happens when you give the mail to an NPC in Mistmoore or Agents of Mistmoore faction?

Delivering mail for the bards lowers faction with Mistmoore. Since I am a friend of the bards and often deliver mail for them, I have no intention of harming any of them. But my guess is that if ANYTHING could increase faction with Mistmoore eliminating bards might be the way. But beware, Mistmoore is only one dungeon, and is easily avoided, but the bards are EVERYWHERE . <grin>

I think killing bards might bring it up since killing critters inside of mistmoore raises your faction with the bards, never tried it though since I'm a "good" character...

I personally have no clue whatsoever how to raise faction with Agents of Mistmoore. Other posts suggest killing Bards or hunting in Howling Stones. I just wanted to note that one thread of this said that Drachnids were dangerous to "good" races.... i'm a Dark Elf Necro of Inorruuk and if those things are on the same faction as the darkies in MM, they are most definately KOS to me, an evil sucker. So the Drachnids are more "deadly to ALL races" hehe. I also agree with the person who said it was of little use to raise faction. I mean sure it might be nice not to be KOS to Drachnids but most all of them, in FV at least, are fooled by invis. I'd hate to think of sacrificing real NPC factions for the faction on a mob that exists to be killed. Bards, everywhere hating me for Spiders in one spot not attacking me, and me unable to attack spiders. I personally plan to kill Drachnids for the Silk when my necro reaches 39 or so. Just my thoughts on the subject :)

Raising faction might be usefull becaused the Drachnid's FV are very deadly to "good" races. Both taking the boat and teleporting to Kunark requires you to run through Drachnid infested territory.
