Heh. Before I remade my shaman he was indifferent to ghouls. Never checked the ones in Neriak but ghouls anywhere else were all indifferent.
Question...

I want to raise Cab faction with my human monk. I collected a crap ton of bone chips, but how can I raise my faction before I attempt to turn in? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
got the bankers

Finely after handing in 25 bags of bonechips (about half of these I farmed) and killing 400 outcast iksar, I can use all necro vendors, 1 monk and 1 SK vendor ,best of all the bank .
I'm a Dark Elv Necro who's god is Innoruuk I now con.
WARMLY to all troppers and warriors guild(can not possibley get any better.

KINDLY to some crusaders inc quarg, Monk Shammy and SK guilds plus 4 vendors 1 in each of these 3 guilds the other is out with the vendors.

AMIABLE to crusader Bodli and a few of his crusader buds.

APPREHENSIVLY to necro guild and all there vendors bonus they sell food water spells and various stuff.

DUBBIUOSLY to bankers (which i can use) and vendors in east Cab which I cant use

I'm now a happy necro with nearly full use of Cab.

If you are an Iksar the best quest to do to raise Cab faction is the bone chip quest. With the Explorer quest you get several bad faction hits. Bad faction is never good - especially when you can do the chip quest and not get any negative faction. If you have the cash, buy chips off of newbies, if not camp Kurns for a bit.

Another way...
# Jun 18 2002 at 12:13 PM Rating: Default
Um i'm an Iksar workin on my faction cause...um i need to get cheaper prices from the vendors. And the easiest way i know to increase this is with the Explorer Quest. All dark races have to do is kill explorers. Turn in 4 exploer survival daggers to trooper in Lake of Ill omen. Should be under the Pillars kinda by the Huge Iksar Statue on the way back to Cabilis
guards
# Mar 07 2002 at 3:42 PM Rating: Default
most guards in nek forest are 20ish(most of them DON'T cast spells and are warriors), the lv 60 beastlord pet is lv 49 and hits for about 70 real fast with haste buff, guards by ent to city are 55ish and hit for 175(doubling) with about 15 delay.
AHHHHH
# Dec 12 2001 at 11:11 PM Rating: Default
my god, i just realized something. I am going to get my beastlord iksar to be non-kos in EVERY major town (except neriak, the guards are mostly casters, and i could wipe them all out al lv60, LOL, no offence to all you De out there. But back to my point, I'd have to kill 3,300 things before I am maxed out!!!!! That is RIDICULUS, which means, to be amiable with every makor city (but neriak), I'd have to kill...OMG about 40,000 things!!!!!!! AHHHHHH, oh well, I have many years to get it done. And sorry Dark elves, but i cant pass up the opportunity to send a lv60 scaled wolf to obliterate your entire kingdom, lol
RE: AHHHHH
# Mar 30 2002 at 2:46 PM Rating: Decent
I have done it. But I am not only amiable, I am ally, with everyone INCLUDING Neriak. Only people that hate me is the Kromrif's, basically Kael. Shar Vahl, like me, Erudin, like me, Paineel, love me, Sanctus Seru, love me, etc. It is very, very hard but it is satisfying.

Not only though, have I maxed with guards but also with guilds, I fear no race now because I know no one will harm me. It is a very rewarding act.

And, to raise faction with Corrupt Qeynos Guards and Qeynos Guards, kill the qeynos guards until corrupt are at ally (or a decent faction) then go to BB for about 4 days and max them out. (just a little tip)

Actually you just have to kill the goodie two-shoes Qeynos Guards until you are non-KOS to the Corrupts. After several days in Blackburrow you can raise the Corrupt guard faction via the Arrow Crate quest.

It just requires that you be non-KOS to the corrupts and have high indifferent faction with the non-corrupts. I'm not sure what the minimum faction is for Qeynos Merchants (you take a faction hit against them for killing the good guards as well) but it can definitely be done at indifferent with them.

I am a lvl 58 Dark Elf Necromancer. Not an easy trip from Scowling to Warmly, but i have done it, and I can bank and buy in cablis.

Here is the 101 in shorthand.

1. As a DE Necro (Inny) factions start at roughly negative 1500 or 1600 for everyone but residents, which start at negative 2500. Approximate faction scales are as follows:
(these are not perfect but meant to give you an idea that, for example, moving from dubious to apprehensive takes longer than indiff to amiable.

Neg 800 and lower:attack
Neg 800 to Neg 500: threat
Neg 500 to Neg 100: dubious
Neg 100 to 0: Apprehensive
0 to 100: Indifferent
100 to 200: amiable
200-500: kindly
500-800: warmly
Factions for a DE Necro (Inny) can not get better than Warmly. Other race/class combos have different limitations.
2. The path that I took was to kill goblins and sarnaks and frogloks in seb until i saw that legion of cablis could not get better. I then began with bone chips. 5000 bone chips later I can bank being apprehensive to residents. I am warmly to everyone else except crusaders which i am kindly to.
3. I have "hired" noobies to farm chips for 5pp per stack and when I log on I send tells and collect. Yes, this is 1250pp for bone chips. I then went to Warsliks Woods and started killing the exiles. There are 6 of them near a lake in the South West corner of the zone (See eqatlas). I spent two nights here doing this. This got me to dubious with the necros. Pets attacking will give faction. This is broken with some factions but working with Cablis.
4. When starting bone chips beware the crusaders. You can figure out their pattern quickly. I highly recommend that necros and sks use a pre-nerf circlet and some form of steelskin (necros). Also note that the crusaders (Quarg and Bhodli) are on different factions. One is on Crusaders and the other is on Scaled Mystics.
5. If you start conning aprehensive to the bankers, and can therefore bank, stay clear of the buildings between the bank and the shammy guild. There is an NPC named Grype there who is on necro faction. If he attacks you every npc in the area attacks, including the resident crusader who will HT you.
6. Pincer and curscale quests may be faster, I am not sure. I know, however, that bone chips will adjust faction consistently. This took me one week to complete, and I now officially hate factions and all faction quests.
6. The only reason I wanted this was so I could hunt in Howling Stones and Karnors, both of which give negative Venril Sathir faction but mindblowing XP solo. I am now VERY KOS in OT. This is, of course, disappointing, but Cablis is an excellent alternative assuming Firona would never invite you in for dinner.

well, i just did the bone chip quest to get my faction with cabilis fixed for my dark elf cleric so I could bank there. I have not completed the chip quest yet, still only at dubious with the crusaders and merchants. The problem I'm finding is that my faction witht the bankers has remained unchanged, it's still at scowling. Worse, a guildmate of mine told me he had maxed out his cabilis faction, he's ally with the crusaders, and he's STILL scowling witht the bankers. Has the bankers' faction changed? If so anybody know what their faction is, and how to fix it? I've already given in 3.5k in bone chips, and nothing.

# Sep 04 2001 at 10:14 AM Rating: Default
I've been on this quest for months now. DE, SK, Inny. I stopped counting bone chips after 4000, but have turned in a few since then. I've also done the goblin watcher quest about 50 imes. My LegionsOfCab faction cannot go any higher. Crusaders = amiably, Shamans = amiably, Monks = kindly, Residents & Banker = dubious, BUT I still con dubious to the Merchants (I estimate that they've conned dubious to me since I turned in about 2000 chips, when the Legions started being indifferent to me). Does anyone know when the merchants will finally sell to me? Aside from them, I think I have better faction here than with most of Neriak now. Yeesh.

I remember on the Erollisi Marr server i was playing my monk and needed a bind... no shaman's in zone so i figured i was screwed.... had to just leave it. then out of nowhere i saw a Gnome necro... i first thought she had to have been a GM to not get agro'ed here but i started talking to her and it ends up she had just turned in bone chips... she gave me a bind near LOIO zone and i was off.... Didn't ask much about it, but she said she just turned in near to 5k bone chips and now she was fine... just my 2 cents... thinking about doing the bone chip quest myself too... though i am a wizard and can port, there is still no easy way to get to Kurns or other cool zones around there... anywho, just wanted to say it can be done

best faction raising
# Jun 27 2001 at 11:33 AM Rating: Default
I use a program that checks out my log of faction and have tested many things. I am an iksar monk so I'm free to wander. Here, I've found that killing the regular scorpians for the pincers and handing them in 4 at a time raises faction the most. The bone chips are a waist of money and trooper mozo doesn't raise much. also curscale armor quests are very helpful mostly if you could buy the hide from the merchants. This is my two cents, but if you ask me, cabilis ain't that great and if you are at a high enough level to hand in 6000 bone chips, then cast spirit of the wolf on yourself and just zoom through the city to whereever you need to go. the gaurds aren't Very fast.

oh yeah, and kill as many frogloks in the swamp as you can. they help. the more you kill, the more you get on you @$$, and better the faction.

Hey i don't use ShowEQ. It's just a program that Looks at the log file. You type /log on and a wordpad document will be created to log everything in your chat window. I don't think the program is there any more but I might be able to upload a version on a website some other time. If you wanna get in just for access to better zones, just use invis, or pay for an invis. Watch out for the shaman guildmaster though, he has see invis on. If you wanna bank, (I know I do) I just payed newbies 1 plat for 12 pincers while I raid the tower in Fob. Hehe. The faction is really MUCH better than any other quests. If you have access to the city, then find some other quests, the city quests are a little easier and with better faction with no negatives.
RE: best faction raising
# Jul 26 2001 at 4:39 PM Rating: Decent
ShowEQ must be nice. What is the comparison? Is 4 scorpion pinchers the equiv of 16 chips?

You can't stack the pinchers, so doing this en masse is slightly more difficult. Also, the chips pop off damn near anything undead, the pinchers are only off of the low level scorps (and camping them is such a bore).

I'm just wondering if it's better faction to the point of being worth the tedium.

you can also turn in bone chips to the crusader in the field of bone, and the 4 scorpion pincers to the warlord, and theres the scaled wolf pelt quest which gives you faction w/ the residents...

I have always wanted to walk into cabilis, for no other reason than to make all the iksar in the zone say "how'd you do that?" However, Cabilis is also the FASTEST way to get to most zones in kunark. wouldn't it be great to just walk through the city.
I have done it with my lvl 31 AGNOSTIC monk. i believe that religion is one of the major things that keeps people out of cabilis. my druid (tunare) spent lvls 10 - 32 at the lake of ill omen, not only that, but she powerleveled about 5 different characters, getting faction hits on all the gobs/sarnaks killed. She is still dubious to troopers, which all of you know is the easiest to raise.
my agnostic monk at lvl 30 was kindly and very close to warm, this is when i started turning in bone chips. i've turned in around 90 stacks of bone chips. i'm now non KOS to everything in cabilis except necros. so i'm in the process of mass killing iksar outcasts in hopes of raising that faction above Threatening.

At any rate, i believe if you want to get into cabilis, you may want to go agnostic, for those of you who can't, don't bother.. unless you have alot more patience than i do.

I don't care if I can bank or buy from merchants, I just want to be able to go into the city with my Iksar husband. I'm a Wood Elf Ranger and I've spent levels 18-40 in Kunark killing Sarnaks and Goblins, and the guards still Scowl Ready to Attack...is there any chance of raising faction high enough to get in? If so, what am I doing wrong?
RE:
# Feb 08 2002 at 6:29 PM Rating: Default
Each guard is on one of three factions. Those being LegionsOfCabilis, CrusadersOfGreenMist, or ScaledMystics. Killing sarnaks and goblins only raises LegionsOfCabilis faction. This may get you non KoS with the Troopers, but the crusaders are on one of the other two factions which haven't been improved yet. Those are commonly improved by turning in bone chips to Trooper Mozo, which raises all the cabilis factions except BroodOfKotiz (necro faction). To improve BroodOfKotiz, you'll need to kill the iksar bandits/outcasts/brigands/etc

What about using a Iksar mule?
# Mar 19 2001 at 10:10 PM Rating: Default
This should solve most of everybodies Iksar faction woes...Ive been doing it alot. All I did was make an Iksar char got him around 5th level so he wouldn't imeadiatly die and I would log him out in the area my Barbarion was (Lake of Ill Omen), Log in as my Barb, drop what I needed to store or sell, logout, login with the Iksar, pick it up, go back and bank, sell, buy, whatever. This has worked GREAT for me. 'course it won't work for no drops, but hey! Not a bad trade off in my book.
RE: What about using a Iksar mule?
# Mar 20 2001 at 11:51 AM Rating: Default
Yes, I have made use of mules in the areas I knew I would never bank in, and it works very well for most situations where you are just using the town to sell your booty and drop off the heavy coin to prevent being overweight.

However, as a higher-level necro I am going to be spending the majority of my time in Howling Stones and Sebilis, so the bank becomes a bit more critical. Someone asks me for some research words, I need a couple coffins for corpse recovery, I need to buy an expensive item that is being auctioned in Kunark or I need to swap some gear to get a better setup for Resists / HP / Mana. Granted these situations do not happen overly often, but when I see that 20K item being auctioned for 8K, I want to be able to buy it fast, without having to ask the seller to wait for me to trek back to Neriak.
Is It Possible to Bank Here?
# Mar 19 2001 at 11:01 AM Rating: Default
I am a dark elf necro, and I have spent the last 2 weeks getting Cabalis faction. I killed the Iskar Bandits to enable me to get the bone chip quest and also to gain Brood faction. I have tracked down and handed in just over 6000 bone chips (and I kept a pretty accurate record). My current factions are: Legion (Warmly), Mystics (Amiable), Crusaders (Aprehensive), Swiftails (Amiable), Brood (Aprehensive) and Resident (Scowling).

I was under the impression that DE necros started at -2000 faction with the Residents, so I should be into Dubious by now, but the bankers are still Scowling. This is absolutly infuriating. What the hell is going on here? Is it even possible to raise faction with the Residents? If so, how far off am I?

Also, it is my understanding that with one of the latest patches they changed the faction rules that you can still get faction points with one faction even if the other is maxxed out. My screen tells me I am getting a plus to Resident faction every set of chips I hand in, so I should be getting actual faction points.

What is the story here? Has anyone gotten to bank in Cabalis that is not an Iskar?

Frustrated beyond belief,
Ancagalon

PS: I should add one more thing. I can walk up to the bankers and open the trade window with them, for 5 seconds before they hit me and aggro the Troopers in the bank which beat me into a fine paste. I would assume you could do something with Feign Death to get around that, but I do not feel like I should have to place myself into that kind of extreme danger just to bank.
I bank there
# Jul 11 2001 at 5:19 AM Rating: Default
I have aggroed the bankers before, but the troopers do not attack. Not sure if it's because they con warmly or because of my level (51).

However, here's the trick to KOS banking in Cabilis:

1) invis yourself and walk into the bank
2) position yourself so that there's a wall between yourself and both bankers. Make sure the banker does NOT have a line of sight to you.
3) strafe out just a tad until you can see the banker's elbow. Right click on it to bank and he won't go after you. Re-invis when you want to leave.

You can also just let the banker pound on you while you bank, or feign death next to him and bank. Either one works, although with the line of sight method you won't have to worry about him chasing you out of the bank.

I believe I have read all the posts regarding this subject and have yet to read of any non-Iksar Players being able to bank in East Cabilis.
I have handed in about 4400 bone chips (27 backpacks) and as a result have the Troopers at Amiable, the Crusaders at Dubious, and cannot bank.
It was pointed out in another post, that there used to be faction caps so if "Legion of Cabilis" (Troopers) were maxed, "Cabilis Residents" (Merchents/Bankers)would increase no further if one was using the Bone Chip Quest to increase factions. That person advised that the cap had been removed in a patch.
At my current faction levels, Crusader Cotat will still attack on sight, and the bankers yell for help when approached.

Questions:
1. Has any non-Iksar achieved the level of faction with Crusaders where all are non-argo?
2. Has any non-Iksar been able to bank in East Cabilis?
3. If the answer to questions 1 & 2 are yes, is it just a matter of handing in 30,40, or 50 backpacks of bone chips?

Well I play a dark elf necromancer and it was my first time in Cabilis at the level of 18. I hade never gained any faction with any of the various guilds or residents as I had just arrived in Warsilks Woods. I never knew how to get from the Woods to the Lake other than to go through Cabilis. So I cast invis and ran through the city to the Lake Zone . On the way I stopped at the bank and off loaded all of my cash then carried on towards the lake zone. Latter on that same day I had to go and bank again . So I went invisable again and made my way to the bank to off load the cash i had. Next thing I got was "You have died Please wait Loading "
The only difference I could see between the first and second times was that on the first ocasion I used the bank at night. And on the second ocasion it was during the day time. Now looking at how to traverse North Freeport via the sewers this can only be done at night . Maybe this is where your answers lay.

I have been doing these faction quests for ages now and sad to say this is where I stand at the moment: Troopers - Warmly, Crusaders - Apprehensive, Necro guild - scowls, Swiftails - Amiably, SK/Shaman guild apprehensive, merchants - dubiously and the rest of the cabilis residents scowls (including the bankers). /sigh looks like a lot more work or I am missing something here.

I don't know why, but I am able to bank in East Cabilis with no problems. I am amiable with the troopers, threatening with the crusaders, and when I conned the banker it said ready to attack. Even with that con, I had no problem banking. And by the way, I got a whole bunch of "Wow, a dark elf in Cabilis" comments. I've turned in about 15 or 20 back packs of chips to get where I am. I still haven't tried buying anything from a merchant, just use the bank.

I am playing an Erudite SK worshipping Cazic-Thule and I can bank in Cabilis without using any cheats. My faction standings are as follows:
Legion - kindly
Crusaders - dubious
Shamen - dubious
Swifttails - dubious
Citizens - dubious
Brood of Kotiz - threatening

However, I am still unable to shop.

I killed faction mobs (many of them Iksar outcasts, with an eye towards Brood of Kotiz faction) till becoming non KoS to Troopers, then turned in between 1500 and 2000 bone chips to Mozo. Thus I became dubious to Crusaders and Shamen, still threatening to citizens and Swifttails. 200 more bone chips and 4 or 5 backpacks full of Marauder Snout Rings 'MM' got me to my present status.
