Ok for all of you iksar out there still wondering about faction with FV. it CAN be raised to non-KOS status. as of 12/10/03 I am now Dubious with most denizens of FV(some near the docks appear to be on other factions than FV). Now as for the numbers to get non-kos.. I do not know. I had done the Trooper Scale BP quest, and I think that dropped me way down. I estimate I have spent some 15-20 hours killing gobbies in different places to get to dubious. However, it can be done. You just need to be dedicated and patient. Do not believe the post down below from the Iksar SK(could just be SK's). it is doable! If you doubt me. log a lighty into Xegony server and send me a tell, i'll be glad to waltz into FV for ya. Good luck Cabilisians!

The female highelf for the warrior epic 1.5 will talk to an iksar but its the other NPC's around her that dont like you.
Rounded up a few toons ...... everybody invis'd passed the guards ..... they kite'd, tank'd or whatever that kept the other NPC's busy while i talked to her and did my turn-ins.

Ok you guys this is the deal... this relates closely to almost all the posts below this. Class as a rule has nothing to do with your faction status in FV or anywhere else. It is based primarily off of your race and DIETY. Most NPC's can get beyond thier racial differences (something the real world could take a lesson from), but if your diety is diametically opposed to the NPC your trying to change faction with forget it. Thus Shadowknights being KOS. It is a class thing only in the fact that you worship an evil god (Innoruuk or Cazic Thule). There is no High Elf out there who will put up with your evil ways.
Moral to the story is if you want to be able to walk into good cities choose a Class that worships a god that is more neutral (Solosek Ro, for example) or be Agnostic. By the same right try being a cleric of Tunare and trying to ever get your faction increased to being non KOS to Neriak (especially third gate)
Hopefully that clarifies some of the faction problems you guys are having.

Im a lvl 21 Iksar Monk and i have been killing Goblins in LOIO sinse lvl 20. Monks I guess are a neutral class, so can I get enough faction to enter FV freely?

Well after 52 levels as an Iksar Shadow Knight, I received the message: "Your faction standing with FirionaVie could not possibly get any better."
Guess what? I am still KOS to every NPC and guard, as well as the Pilgrims and Firiona Drixies... What a total waste of time... :(

The reason you are still kos in fv is because only good classes are accepted there. As a SK you can go to OT but not to FV.

Though this is an old post just a bit of FYI. as an iksar Sk you cannot go into the OT outpost. Iksar are KOS in both FV and the Outpost in OT.

This is because NPC's can belong to more than 1 faction. Sure, your FV faction may be maxed, but the NPC's are also on other high/wood elf faction tables such as Emerald Warriors or Stormguard. I'm sure you can find out exactly whch factions are involved there in Illa's Bestiary, or you could just go kill one of thos annoying pilgrims and see what faction hits you get :)
No, I'm sorry, but that is not correct. A given NPC or mob only has one primary faction which governs their relationship with you. There may be other faction groups which also monitor your interactions with that NPC or mob, and which adjust their factions with you according to how they view those interactions, but if you are amiable to the Firiona Vie faction, you will be amiable to all NPCs on that faction, no matter what race, or class they are and no matter which deity they worship.

Yeah, at the Firiona Vie city area you have firiona vice faction npcs then also SOME other faction npcs. Meanwhile, the pilgrams and drixies and things are on Firiona Vie factions.
Every mob only has a primary faction which you must raise to be in good with it, as Shmoozo says. You may lose other factions in killing it, but the only faction IT is on is one of them. That one faction is going to take the largest dive.
For example, in crushbone you kill crushbone orcs. Their main faction is crushbone orcs. So by killing them you go kos with them fast. However, you also lose Indigo brotherhood which is ONLY the warrior guild of innoruuk (no dark elf guards, though people ALWAYS mix that up.), an ambassador in the basement of the maiden's fancy, Dorn in Nro and possibly some other lower npcs I left out.
This makes dark elves think they can't kill in crushbone, but they CAN. Since indigo is not the primary faction the cb orcs are on, you can kill them billions of times and still not get kos to indigo brotherhood. Now, if like my cleric dark elf you kill Dorn a whole bunch (with his primary being indigo brotherhood), you will then go threaten faster with indigo brotherhood even if you then only kill orcs in CB. She is now threaten to indigo, but she killed Dorn A LOT to raise primordial malice (then they removed the primordial malice npcs from Rathe mountains, making this moot!)
The main npc I remember not on Firiona Vie is on some epic quest faction, a high elf looking enchantress or something in a hut in the city. My wood elf druid was dubious to her. I think nearly everyone else is on the FV faction.
The reason that the SK iksar can't raise it anymore, is that he has a much lower max with that faction. I can't remember if it is because he started out at more than -2000 or what, but he can only raise it so high.
An example of a faction max is that my wood elf druid can get to allied with stormguard (dwarven guards) before "maxxing", as in "you can't get any better with stormguard." Meanwhile, my dark elf cleric is at warmly, but can't get "any better with stormguard."
In the iksar sks case, max for him is still scowl. However, he could probably use a form change potion and not be kos. I'd try a human form potion.
Wolf form DOES make you kos there for sure, so don't do that (actually wolf form lowers your faction by some amount, so if you were a druid and warmly to FV you'd probably not be kos in wolf form.)

I can relate to your situation being a Gnomish Necromancer. I started off as KOS and after 1100 gobs i maxed out at apprehensive for Firona Vie. At least that gets me in the city and able to interact with merchants.
Still, i disagree at maxing out a faction and not being able to reach the best faction lvl no matter what diety race combo you have. If you are willing to put in the time and effort you should be able to become an ally anywhere. I've reached ally status in other cities with the Coldain, Humans, and Iksars (some of which with a lot less effort).

I have been killing Goblins for some time. I am an Erudite Necro. Being on Vallon, FV is the only spot I can bank. Cab is out.. I have prolly killed 300 goblins and I am still KOS-Ready to attack.. I have yet to see a con other than that. But I will keep killing Gobs as the ones in LIO still give me xp.. Will let you know around lvl 35 if it helps.. (That's 12 more Levels, and prolly 1000 more goblins, heh)

but for hope...i have seen an ogre warrior in the city happy as can be....
and soon, i'll be able to also. (killing gobbos for 2-3 hours a night in LOIO in the ruins) total about 7 hours.

I play a dwarf agnostic warrior and am unable to train at the warrior guild in FV. When I try, I am told by the Captain that he does not associate with dwarves. Is this simply a faction that needs to be raised? I know other dwarf agnostic warriors have been able to train here. I've played a complete level's worth in Ill Omen so far.

To raise faction, guard your pet at a spawn that will raise factions, lke low levels sgoblins, then go somewhere far away and sit down. Any threatening or kos mobs around your pet will aggro it and your pet will kill them. At level 30, I sat my pet in bandit camp in NK and got from threatening to kindly in Highkeep in Qeynows in about 15 hours while I slept.
I'm pretty sure that's been nerfed. Mobs won't attack a pet under some circumstances now.

I beleave FV will always be KOS to any evil race that follows a evil god..as a Iksar we get no choises of gods and for 44 LvL's I've tryed to raise my factions with all good races.I have seen that nere all mobs killed in Kunark raise FV factions yet for the hundreds of thousends of mobs killed I'm still KOS..so if your a evil race following a evil god..be evil and kill the *&^ elfs.

As of today, anyway, killing the bandits in Field of Bone gives Qeynos and Highhold faction, not Firiona Vie faction. Don't know about the ones in TD.

I am an agnost ogre warrior. I've killed goblins from level 15 to 30 about. Then again I killed them during level 48 for about four or five hours. I've finally gotten my faction up to dubious and can bank in the city, although I can't buy yet, still working on apprehensive :(

i'm a half-elf warrior who worships Innoruuk (rare, but it can be done)... I'm KOS at the Overthere outpost because I'm a half-elf, and KOS at FV because I worship Inny... Does anyone know of any evil char who has managed to actually become non-KOS at FV? Otherwise I'm just going to have to go straight for Cabilis =P

I am a lvl 51 dark elf enchanter follower of innoruuk and I recently raised my faction enough to buy/sell/quest in FV. I went from ready to attack (even with illusions and faction changing spells) to indifferent with only my illusion on.
I did this all by killing goblins in lake of ill omen. Granted I probally killed 500 or more of them, it did work in the end.

I went to WW and cleared the goblin city over and over again trying to fix my FV faction and I'm still KoS to the pilgrims. I spent over 8 RL hours killing hundreds of goblins. I can't get close enough to FV to con a resident because I would have to kill a pilgrim to do it and that would surely lower my faction. I am an Erudite necro and I have never done anything that has reduced my FV faction. After all I have done to raise my FV faction, I am starting to suspect that the pilgrims may dislike me for a different reason than my FV faction and I may not be KoS in the city.
Does anybody know a better way to raise FV faction? Has any necro been able to do it?

I thought I read on one of Abashi's posts that faction could be so low that it could never be improved, like a ratchet.
Keep trying, but its possible that you've started below the point you could ever get non-KOS no matter what you did. Of Course, if that were true then they really should not give you the faction up messages. Not sure you can count on what makes sense though.

The Pilgrims and Drixies are on FV faction anyway, so just con one of those; if they are KoS, turn back and go kill more goblins. You will likely need to kill around a thousand before getting to Dubious.

ITS A HIGH ELF/WOOD ELF OUTPOST OF TUNARE!!!!!! I would be suprise if a Necro could manage to get his faction high enough. The city is named after Tunare's Avatar, Firona Vie.
Gussing that you havent been around sense the GM-event so here's a little back ground. The Dark Elfs of Inny want to take over the world as many people know. So one day the GM's brought the DE's on an invasion. There plan? Conquor High Hold and split the contint in two for the lighties (Qeynos and Freeport). It was a good paln of devide and conquor. As the battle started the Fathers of the Avatars of Tunare and Inny squared off. There battle was to play the biggest part of the war to date. As there battle wore on neither of them would gain a desisve gain on the other. As Firona's father (the king of the High Elves) was struck by the Harm Touch of Layns T'vl. The King simply used his LoH to repair the damage. They were both back to square one. Eventually the older body of the King started to wear out while the youthfull body cause by many years of practicing the dark arts of Layn's father slowly gained the advantge. Mean while Firona Vie and Layns squared off. Layns jumped to the early advantage by attacking savagly and ruthlessly at Firona. Firona calmly bided her time waiting for Lanys to get careless and make a mistake. As the battle wore on Lanys slowly was losing her agressiveness. During this Lanys father was slowly but surely over coming the King. When he struck down the King Firona was struck up with a new fire and went on the offensive. She begin to over come Lanys. Just before Lanys was to be struck down, her father used an anchint artifact that opened a hole between the Plane of Hate and Kithicor. Lanys dad was instanlly killed from the power relesed by the artifact, along with many many of the soldiers from both armies. It turned out rather then let his Avatar lose Inny would for ever condem Kithicor to be a waste land of souls, and bring his Avatar to the Plane of Hate with him. Cannt rember the rest of the ending though. You can find the rest of the story at Harpies(tavern) at the offical EQ web page. They also have the story on why Firona Vie has become the outpost that it is and the reson behind its name. They got many very good EQ lore realated stories there.

Uhm, that's a nice little story, but I could have sworn the outpost was created and named after Fironia Vie becuase she was kidnapped by the Iksar and this was the outpost of the searchers trying to get her back.
