"Cleric and Paladin Guild for followers of Karana."

the description of the Knights of Truth over in Freeport is great. Qeynos gets a lame straight to the point description. no love for Qeynos.

BTW: IMO the best way to gain this faction is by giving 2g to Fabian (In E. Freeport at north end of docks) or Lashen (Wonders around the newbie field in Qeynos or in front of the Monk Guild). This is just a good no BS running around, just grab like 400pp and put it in gold and head out to one or both of these guys and start slowly unloading it and in a few hours your done and have excellent faction. - and nice note about Fibian you have the opurtunity to get a new Suffix (see https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=3481).
Gnoll fangs

Okay, my troll killed thousands of gnolls, and has almost 200 teeth to turn in. I went to Qeynos after I was dubious, and tried to turn in the teeth to Capt. Tillin. As soon as I was visible, the paladin who hangs out there jumped me, and so did Tillin and his friend.
The way to do it, is have a friend turn in gnoll teeth, give you the moonstones, and go over to the bar and turn them in yourself. It's slow but it's the only thing that works so far.

OK I camped the Miller's which of course landed me in the position of being KOS to Qeynos Guards, Priests of Life, Knights of Thunder, and Karana residents. I took note of some of these posts about the sash quest and tested them out today.

Wolf Form: I was in wolf form and invisible. I ran up to Chesbard, handed him the sash and he accepted it BUT told me that I was not trustworthy enough so zero faction there and he immediately attacked me. At 29 I went down in two shots.

Grouping: I grouped with my friend under a temp character I made just to test the concept that if you are near the NPC when the other person is doing the quest, you'll get faction. Hate to say it but I didn't get an ounce.

My Plan: I've gotten some good advice and done some research so here is what I plan to do. Go to BB, cast a damage shield (if you got em) and run around hitting everything, particularly the gnoll pups (littlest ones) which supposedly give the most faction. Once I am no longer KOS with qeynos guards, I will take the gnoll fangs to the warriors guild in SQ, do the quest to get the moonstones in return, and take the moonstones to the fish ale and give them to the guy in the back room. When you complete the moonstone quest, it gives you faction with karana residents, qeynos guards, priests of life, AND knights of thunder. I might be able to do this before I get un-KOS to qeynos guards since I could go invis and go to the war guild, turn in the fangs, then run over to fish ale. Might be worth trying although very risky.

I killed about 1200 Gnolls and 500+ bandits to become un kos with guards and merchants. Turned in 129 gnoll teeth and about 140 moonstones to fish ale. Am fine with guards and merchants now but am still kos with priests and knights. Not even threatening yet but still scowling. will probably take you several hundred moonstones to fix since it took about 1700 kills to go from as low as possible to dubious.
good luck. i gave up on it and am now powerleveling a new druid to use.
The way to do it, small gramical corections

Turning in the sashes from the bandits is the best way to go... if you are an Iksar or an evil race, get someone you know to help you out. you go out and fight with them for a while and let them loot all the sashes. than you head into town with them, if you have good enought faction, or turn invis. get as close to Chesgaurd or whatever his name is, and let them turn in the sashes... you should get the great faction and minimal exp. this is what i am going to do with one of my friends since i am an iksar and still kos to some people in Qeynos.

I've heard you can kill FP Militia guards and gain faction with the Knights of Thunder. So far i cant prove its true, but it shouldnt be hard to find out, just ask someone who kills those guards in WC or Reskin in EC.
Talym Shoontar

Killing Talym Shoontar, the Barbarian poacher, will lower your faction with the Knights of Thunder, as well as with the Priests of Life, the Karana Residents, and the Qeynos Guards.

If you're killing him for the Surefall Glade quest, however, you raise that faction back to where it was, while raising it with Jaggedpine.
bandit sashes

For all you pallys out there the bandit sash is the way to go to get this fac. I was going to do the bone chips, but no newbs would sell to me. I turned in 16 bone chips and fac didnt change a bit. I then went and hunted bandits in south karana for about 1 hour and got 7 sashes. Not only did i get the sashes from the bandits but also got lots of bronze weapons. I then went to qeynos to turn them in and just off those 7 went from indifferent to amaible. This in my opinion is way better then turning in 100's of bone chips.

Raising Faction to be able to do this quest
# Nov 10 2000 at 5:42 PM Rating: Default
First off, You shouldnt be going near the gates of qeynos unless your at least dubious, in which case if your dubious that would mean you have killed either of ton of Gnolls in BlackBurrow, or a ton of bandits in the karana's If it is the first A Ton of Gnolls you should have a Tong of Gnoll Fangs, go turn them in at the warriors guild, for each fang you turn in you get a moonstone, goto Fish's tavern and tun in the moonstones which will gain you some faction with the paladins, enough to be able to do the bonechips quest, However I have yet to find a way to raise faction high enough to turn in the bandit sash's at cheguard he KoS's me everytime I go near him...

Only way i found to do bandit sash quest is to have a hi-level druid cast wolf form on u then give him the sashes.. Did this with an Ogre works great..
Raising Faction

Kill skeletons... LOTS of them, and collect the bonechips. Then hand the bone chips, two at a time, to the NPC Lavos Novashine in Qeynos. He wanders between the first landing leading to the temple of life and the newbie area. (I could have the first name spelled wrong.) The only negative faction hit is blood sabers. Great quest to do with a couple bags of bonechips.

Raising Faction to Raise Faction
# Dec 06 2000 at 12:24 AM Rating: Default
You can raise faction with the Priests of Life ( Lashun Novashine ) by killing the Putrid Skeletons in South Karana near the bridge. When your faction is high enough with the Priests of Life, you can then proceed to do the bone chips ( which also works with 2 gold pieces ) quest, which raises faction with the Knights of Thunder.
