I have good news and bad news for you my fellow shaman. As you've discoverd, getting Turgurs Insects at level 51 is what gets shamans groups and allows us to solo well. Since you are bent on soloing, I will reccomend the following:

1) Always have KEI, extended preferable. The amount of damage you do per unit time ( IE how fast you kill mobs ) is dependent on how fast you regen mana.
2) Get a horse or a lizard for outdoor zones. This counts as sitting MANA regen but you get regen as if standing, so always have a regen spell on you. You do not get sitting aggro from being on a horse either , although you have to cast 3 times shrink spell to get the ears out of your face. With good CHA ( 140+) you can get a horse for 8400pp. No idea on lizards I dont have LoY.
3) For your level get a Jaundiced Bone Bracer. Its 263 DD 8.0 sec cast time 0.0 recast. Although many shaman soloed well w/o this, it will make getting to 58 much easier. As an alternative there are weapons like The Forgotten orb of Magic I think its called its a LDON drop 19/30 +12 WIS 1hb procs a 320 DD. My personal belief is that only ogres can melee due to our non stun from the front, but your welcome to try.; Make sure you have EVERY buff on you including Rage, regen AGI, STA, HP and haste. Your weapon skills must also be maxed or you'll miss alot and also defense needs to be maxed.


Now for the bad news. Once you hit level 58-59 you will notice XP slows down ALOT. Now Ive heard of level 58 Shaman SOLOING Lodizal, but dont think that your average shaman on his first try is going to pull that one off. Once you hit 60+ and get ALL of your spells you can solo the lesser named dragons in Western Wastes, Ive even known highly skilled and extremely well equipped shaman to not only CRACK OPEN Plane of Fear, but solo the zone minus the mini-bosses and Cazic Thule Himself.I've also heard reliable reports of soloing in the Crypt of Decay, WITHOUT A PET ( it gets killed to quick even buffed). It has been done ( Im talking NTOV+ gear or Time equipped shamans can do this ). These people have close to or exceed 300 AA skills. What Im trying to tell you that unless you are the most uber shaman on the server, you will get MUCH MUCH better XP in groups from 59-63in PoV, and when you get malo/malosinia you can get even better XP in BOT and HoH. Even high level LDON groups are good XP and some nice drops happen as well ( like that 19/30 mace I alluded to earlier--its 1hb BTW )

Its up to you , JBB's on Luclin server are pushing 30k, I have one but would never sell it , its mana free low aggro damage you can ad to a fight once the mobs are debuffed and slowed. But for 30k you could buy Malo or Malos which will help alot more in the tier2/3 zones and is almost mandatory in tier 4 zones. I would spend the money to get a horse and one last thing----spend the 17 AA for CanniV--12 AA for mana regen 3 and 5 for canni5. It is about 2.5 times the mana regen of KEI and with cannV + horse/lizard+KEI you will be able to easily chain pull mobs in PoV, even crippling and DoTting them once in a while ( after the tank has Good aggro control. I have been with shaman with 260 WIS and no canni have to sit and med while I do ALL the slowing, debuffing healing and hasting in LDON groups before and I only had 200 WIS at the time. Yes, it makes that much difference.
