Classes: The Druid

Druids - a powerful outdoor class. With the triple ability to heal, inflict direct damage and cast damage over time, druids are a popular solo class, as well as popular in a group. They are also a travelling class, given both sow and teleportation abilities.

How should you play your druid to make the best use of his abilities? What are the best solo strategies? How should the druid be played within a group? What spells are the most and least useful? What skills should you develop?

Post your strategies on how to best play and develop the Druid and read, rate and comment on what others have to say.

I just created a wood elf druid on Stromm and I've noticed something - the available armor/weapon selections (maybe its just my server) for low-levels with a little bit of cash is very, very limited. I'm wondering if, outside of a pok quests, anyone has recommendations for good armor sets/pieces that are good for druids between levels 1 and ...oh, about 25? Thanks.

You could do the armor quests in your home city. You could also work on your tailoring and do the cultural armor quest for that level, then make a set of cultural. Add some augs from the hotzones (past and present), and you have some decent armor appropriate for that level.

The starting armor in the tutorial was plenty sufficient until about 12-13, then work on the TSS armor in Crescent Reach. The yard mobs drop decent armor, although somewhat sporadically. That should keep you alive until the early 20's when Kimem in Crescent reach will allow you to aquire quest armor items from him, which requires farming the mobs in Blightfire Moors.
