How should you play your druid to make the best use of his abilities? What are the best solo strategies? How should the druid be played within a group? What spells are the most and least useful? What skills should you develop?

Post your strategies on how to best play and develop the Druid and read, rate and comment on what others have to say.

1. How do I survive 'untwinked'
- Do all the armor/weapon quests you can as well as hunt mobs that drop items you can use, like goblins are good for free bags and backpacks. Do the quests in the tutorial including for the gloomingdeep armor. This site shows quests by zone. Read them. Also there is a zone list by level. Check it out as well. Hot zones are good for a bit better experience. Group in those.

2. What gears should i be searching for
You want to work on both 1hb and 1hs weapons. Look for magic weapons. There are quests and mob drops for them as well as the "Combine" weapons you can buy at vendors in Oasis...or I guess North Ro since zone was revamped. Get a good shield with extra wisdom.

3. What are some Good leveling zone and quests to do
See #1

4. What is a good tradeskill to work on
Since you don't have unlimited plat, you are a leather wearer, so tailoring is good. You can collect your own pelts and make armor.

5. How to I make plat
In the tutorial "open" every barrel you see and sell what you gather. Elsewhere, go for stackable items. Kill wildlife with pelts and stack stack stack. These sell well in the Bazaar.

6. What are the different variations of druid
All druids are the same except for the person at the keyboard. :)

7. What do I specialize in
Not sure what you mean here. Try to get to 200 wisdom as soon as you can since it will help your spellcasting. Get a charisma buff and a charisma item to hold when you're going to go sell your loot at a vendor. It makes a lot of difference expecially with items that are worth more...not so much if they're only worth a few coppers.

8. What are AA's all about and how to use
Once you're level 51 worry about AA's. Too much to wrap your head around now.

9. What would be the perfect wishlist gear selection when I come to the end of leveling
Beyond my capability to answer as my Druid is 48. You want to find magic items with focus abilities on them. Focus items will: shorten your cast time, lengthen your buff time, improve various spell results and others. You can do a gear search under Items/Equipment here and limit it to Focus items to see what is what.

Thats my input. Hope you enjoy the druid. Check out other druid sites, like http://www.everquestdruids.com/.

1. For the first 30 or so levels u can prolly handle most mobs with average gear that u happen to come across, so long as u got cleric and if u can get em shaman buffs.
After that (and durring even) u need to learn how to kite mobs if ur not goin to be grouping.
Kiting is a simple process of getting the mob to chase you while damaging it. The most common method is done by casting a "snare" spell on the mob while casting Damage over time spells and nuke's.

Also available to you is quad kiting.
First, you must find and snare four mobs that are of the same species. Then circle around the mobs until they are so close together, the graphics are overlapping. Then use one of your Lightning based spells. The Lightning spell will hit all 4 mobs. Then back up until you are out of range of casting the spell, and waits for the mobs to get in range. Repeat until all four mobs die.

Also u can do root-rotting.
Root Rotting is a technique used by classes who get the Root line of spells. Basically, you root the monster, rendering it immobile and then proceed to damage it via spells. This is most effective with damage over time spells (DoTs) rather than direct damage spells, as DD spells tend to break the root and the monster will come running to kill you. If that happens, you cast your root spell again and continue to do damage until the monster is dead. Also remember to snare the mob so if and when root breaks he wont come at u full tilt.

With the TSS ( the serpent's spine) expansion, u can essentially 'twink' yourself with the quests offered.

2. you want to max ur wisdom stat as soon as u can. If u have a choice in ur gear look for stuff with high wisdom, HP, Mana, and AC...

3. I would suggest checking out crescent reach (CR) for good quests, nice rewards, and while ur doin those u'll get good xp. Once u hit level 20 try out the hotzones for item augments and extra xp.

4. not much of a tradeskiller myself so cant help much there.

5 - 9. ditto on MychaeleM's post

1. How do I survive 'untwinked' : Was well answered, not gonna add anything.

2. What gears should i be searching for : In the hot zones, there will be augs that drop from random mobs. Collect those and apply them to your armor. They are easy to get.

3. What are some Good leveling zone and quests to do : This was well answered for you. I am not sure if they are still there, but the Crushbone Orcs in...Crushbone, drop belts and shoulderpads that can be turned in for exp in Kaladim. It wont get you far, but doing this quest has the benefit of getting your skills up at the same time.

4. What is a good tradeskill to work on : Tailoring has been revamped. I think it might actually be easier to get that skill up now. Work on it. Since alot of drops for tradeskilling are dropping more often, I would work on smithcraft too. I worked on those, plus pottery, fletching, baking, brewing, and jewelcraft. Why? For something different, and the tradeskill quests that are out there.

5. How to I make plat : Certain zones are good for certain drops, like Dulak's Harbor for gems, and Sand Giants for plat (hill giants too). Fine steel weapons and Velium weapons sell for plat. This is the easy stuff to do.

6. What are the different variations of druid :
7. What do I specialize in : if you are talking about your spell casting skills, dont worry bout it. You will end up with the appropriate specialization for you playstyle. You will cast more of one type of spells in a group than another, and more than likely will end up with that as a speciallization.

8. What are AA's all about and how to use : Answered very well.

9. What would be the perfect wishlist gear selection when I come to the end of leveling : There is an end to leveling? =) You will never be satisfied with your amount of AAs, or your gear, so its nice to have a wishlist, but it will change. Plus Sony will come out with new AAs, and new gear, just before you are happy with what you have. I was once very happy when I had a full set of Elysian armor, sigh.

Actually, I found Quad Kiting to be a bit too hard on the mana pool until around the early 40's.
