Classes: The Cleric

Clerics -- the premier healer in the game. A popular class for any group, the cleric brings the ability to heal the party and keep you from dying, and can even bring you back from death at higher levels.

What is the best way to play a cleric? Can a cleric be soloed, and if so how? How should you play a cleric in a group? What spells are the best ones to buy and develop? what skills should a cleric concentrate on? What items should you seek out?

Post your strategies on how to best play and develop the Cleric and read, rate and comment on what others have to say.

At 46 with a Merc Tank, I went to Veksar. I stayed there until 57. That is what I recommend. Nadox, despite "recommendations" hurts because mobs run when dying and bring about 40000000 adds. I gated 3 times in 30 minutes and never got more than a few yellow because of that.

I forgot to mention, pacify your way past the Bloodgill Goblins when you can, and take the ramp. From there, Pacify again and go left and find the other ramp in the corner. If you do better against these for a couple levels then by all means single pull with pacify. Otherwise, floor 2 is where the undead are. I have a weapon that procs about 500 on them and with 255 dex I proc every 4 or 5 swings. Keep ATONE up to remove aggro. The 2nd floor will be full of yellow and red, maybe a few white (even cons). You can take them with a Journeyman 1 Tank. Also do not forget that coming in and getting to Veksar is pure water swimming. My main started me off with a Lodi Shield, but because he is a bard and hunted for his kitty mask, he ended up with a half dozen bracer of the brood and another ring that also gives enduring breath. Wear these long enough to get in then put on your stat rings. You can make a few hundred pp an hour if you are killing quicker. Sometimes you have to med up, but turning on auto AA means at 51 you get a few hundred and you end up being able to AA your way to 55 unspent AA until you hit 55, then get a new infusion of AA. At that point, you can add those 55 to a few tradeskill things or other abilities. You wont get any more AA you can spend until 59.
