Never really played a cleric so when I come back i might roll one and was wondering could I play him from level one to whatever I need by just making him a battle cleric where since I wont be in groups for a long time just pump Str, Stam, Dex, Agi and things like that and using a hammer and kind of doing things in a pally way but wanting to play a cleric like that?

I think you can play a cleric anyway you want! Group or solo, depends upon your play style. Had a friend who kited alot while leveling his cleric...also spent alot of time killing undead mobs!
Good Luck ....I am level a 30ish cleric now, and plan to do alot of solo work unless I can find good group to heal!!!!
Oh, and buying Shield of Thorn potions in bazaar, helps alot at lower levels...

Have a 57 cleric that has soloed, and baby cleric that is 40 totally solo. We can destroy undead like no other, which makes us great soloers.

what zones have the undead that you solo?
darkelf inny worshippers get access to a snaring necklace. regent symbol of innorukk...at level 15. just trying to help with race suggestions.

cleric soloing ability kinda drops off around lvl 30 i think. but once you get about 45 you can go to gunthak. after you get to 72 tho.. you can do most anything you want. i have a 72 cleric and i can solo WoS or NC without any problem.

I havent played in a long while and am looking to get back into the game some that is why i have started reading the posts again. I have a level 31 cleric that I pretty much soloed. I did do some grouping but i seemed to run into alot of bad groups, so it pretty much sucked. I can tell you when fighting the undead clerics are the bomb.
Solo undead in the tower of frozen shadow till 40, then head to lower Guk till 50, then howling stones to 55, then Veksar to 60's.

hehehe ok new here but anyway. I have a 51 cleric and I soloed her until level 25. I personaly like groups but I could have easily soloed her until level 40. I think if you can find one or two people who are on very very often, and like to group with you, that's the best way to go. I have a druid/ranger that I usualy play with and they are on everyday while I'm on. We've also gotten to know eachother a lot.

At 57 when you get your Ward of Rebuke, you can actually solo also. A 74 cleric actually taught me this one. Cast the ward on yourself, it procs somewhere around 300 pts when it goes off. Cast reverse ds on the mob, and wear thorns. Before this, cast your hammer, a HP buff, and an HoT on yourself and the rest does the work. Of course, you will need to patch heal yourself in between, but it gets the job done when you can't find a group. And you don't have to necessarily fight undead. This will work with all mobs, but undead will go down a lot quicker of course.
