Classes: The Paladin

Paladins - Icons of Virtue. The paladin combines the strength and battle prowess of a fighter with the healing and buffing of a cleric.

What is the best strategy for developing your paladin? Can a paladin be soloed, and if so, how? How should you play your paladin within a group? What skills should you concentrate on developing? What spells are most useful, and least useful? What armor and weapons should your paladin be seeking out?

Post your strategies on how to best play and develop the Paladin and read, rate and comment on what others have to say.

Hello,

I have a 65th Paladin that I have played for a few years, unfortunetly I am currently deployed to Iraq so I am about year behind in my playing. One of the decisions I have been wondering about is where to go with some of my AA choices. Before I left I was dead set on focusing on the AA's that improved my fighting style when using 2 handed weaponry, but with the release of GoD I have read about (but certainly been unable to try) new AA that increase your effectiveness with a single weapon/shield style. I was just curious if any Pally's who have gained one or both of these sets of AA's would be willing to give me some insight as to which would be more valuable to obtain first. I of course, realize that depending on my role in any particular group/raid either of the styles could be more effective but I am just looking into a little more insight. Before I deployed I was alternating between a Primal 2 handed sword and a Lance of Thunder. I would only go weapon and shield in obvious situations when my tanking or stunning were more important than my damage output. Thanks for any information that you could share.

They answered many of the same questions I had.
Personally, I went for building my Max HPS first along with Combat Agility and Combat Stability. I only have about 11 AA's at them moment, but more HPS and the ability to start avoiding hits, as well as taking less damage helped out a lot. I am not going to worry about dishing out more damage just yet. I can hold aggro just fine.

Hope it all helps !

I am at 330AA and here are the order i suggest u get AA
1) Run3
2) Eat less food lvl 3
3) Combat agility 3
4) Lightenning reflex 5 (Best AA for any class that get hit)
5) Hand of Piety lvl 1
6) Compelete heal LoH
7) Holy steel

All those AA are basic for u to do your job right. People expect u to tank and stay alive in group and those AA will make u tank much better and have instant G-heal and CH-LOH to save the group when in danger. IMO staying alive = level faster.
Now this is the cross road, depends on your gear.

If u have 7k hp+ buffed, I would go for the attacking AA
If u have less then 7k hp, I would go for the HP gaining AA cuz u need those HP to tank better (do your basic job first)

<<7k+ HP>>
Incease double attack lvl 3
Able triple attack 3
Mental clarity 2
Combat Fury 3
Fury of the age Max
Spell Casting Fury 2
Natural Durability 2
Physical enchancement 1
Natural Durability 3

<<less then 7K>>
Natural Durability 3
Physical enhancement 1
Incease double attack lvl 3
Able triple attack 3
Mental clarity 2
Combat Fury 3
Fury of the ages Max
Spell Casting Fury 2

Well if u get those done u are around 200AA, so i leave u for the rest hehe
