Classes: The Paladin

Paladins - Icons of Virtue. The paladin combines the strength and battle prowess of a fighter with the healing and buffing of a cleric.

What is the best strategy for developing your paladin? Can a paladin be soloed, and if so, how? How should you play your paladin within a group? What skills should you concentrate on developing? What spells are most useful, and least useful? What armor and weapons should your paladin be seeking out?

Post your strategies on how to best play and develop the Paladin and read, rate and comment on what others have to say.

Hi there I am a lvl 24 HIE Pally. I really prefer to solo, but I am unfamiliar to the undead areas and I was told that in order to solo I need to be in the areas with undead.

My only other char is a 30 BST and so that gives me input into how to solo my pally.

What spells should I be using on the mobs?

Thanks for the help.

You can solo anywhere, until you get to 30 soloing undead won't give you a ton of benefit. Once you hit 30 you get a nice proc spell Condemnation of Nife (sp?) that effects only undead. At 24 you might be able to do a bit in Sol A, pulling goblins at the entrance, if it's cleared you can work around to the rug room and pull from that side. You can also go to unrest and pull into the yard from the back door or the side door. Invis to undead works nicely here if you want to explore, just beware of the basement and the hand room. Both have mobs that are not undead and will attack you, breaking your invis and sending you, along with all the mobs in the mansion, into the yard. At 24 though the only undead spells you have really are invis to undead and that undead dd that hits for 40+, so there really is no benefit to only soloing undead.
Hope that helps!

Unrest is a good place to solo, many different levels of rooms and with Lull drawing singles from rooms is pretty easy. you can solo here to 40 if you so deisire but i left at 34. My next step was Lower Guk another Undead haven but with more live pray too such as Bats and Spiders. Lower Guk is a kind of higher level unrest but very dangerous. However both places are great for groups when you tire of soloing. Another good place is Kithicor forrest, more open for Undead soloing and advisable to stay near zonelines to Rivervale or High Hold Pass as adds are fast and furious. The undead however only spawn at night in Kithicor.

After this, although not undead i soloed the Tundras after hitting 50, Eastern wastes for Manticores, Snow griffons, Wooly Rhinos..list is endless. The Shardwurms in GD drop nice spells and then Velketor's Labarynth Just of GD can see you solo upto level 60, if patient from the Ground floor mobs. Also the Velk mobs drop Bricks of vellium and crystaline silks, which sell very well.

After 60 The land of Norrath is open to many places, however teaming for the right equipment along the way is essential.
