Classes: The Shadowknight

Shadowknights - The evil warriors. A combination of fighter and necromancer, the shadowknight is a complex class to develop and play correctly.

What is the best strategy to develop and play your shadowknight? Can the shadowknight solo, and if so how? How should you play a shadowknight in a group? What skills and spells are the most and least useful for the shadowknight? What items should you be seeking for your shadowknight?

Post your strategies on how to best play and develop the Shadowknight and read, rate and comment on what others have to say

Hello all,
I have a lev 70 cleric, a lev 66 brd and a lev 52 SHD. I am familiar with what kiting is from playing my bard but unsure what fear kiting is for my shd.....what do you need to do to be good at it? (PS - SHD is my 2nd alt - cleric being the 1st and so far the SHD is becoming my favorite of the 3 toons to play!) I saw on a previous post that pet pulling no longer works since mobs now look at level of toon , not at level of pet so looking for more ways to stay alive soloing....

Any helpful hints are appreciated.
Thanks!

What has worked for me is to Pull with the darkness line that dots and snares the mob. If I cast on the mob from max range ( and it lands ) I have time for at least 1 more dot before I cast fear on the mob. WHen feal lands I send in my pet and follow along wacking on the mobs back.

THis doesent work everywhere so you have to look at pathing and how crowded the area is you want to work in.

Thank you for the info - I get the general concept now..... I use the darkness line of spells all the time - just never put 2 and 2 together to use it with fear and a pet :)

Take care!

Once you land one of your darkness spells, send the pet in while backing up. When you are able to cast again, dot with something else then fear. The pet won't steal agro from you, or if it does won't get killed before you land some DoT's.

Fear kiting can be fun and it can get you killed quick. Mind your pathing you SK!

Fear kiting has to be one of the most boring things you can do as an sk.
