for some reason the post got scrunched into a seperate one.
Here is is copy/pasted
There is a bit more detail than that to answer his question.
It's what seperates doing it well, and using your pet to get multiple mobs.
It is used to pull singles out of packed rooms, especially good for ones with casters.
First off, the pet has to be green to the mobs you are pulling through. Mobs will assist the target if the pet isn't green to them. It doesn't matter if the mob is "green to you".
Range of you to the mob and their surrounding mobs matter as well. Some folks stand at max range, send in pet, then back up. It works for the mobs next to your target. However, once that mob passes friends that are within the "pet to you" range of agroing, they will.
Spamming pet back off is the most annoying thing you can do to the people you group with.
Yes, /pet back off clears its hatelist. But then the mob's next his reagros your pet and you have to clear it again. Each time, the pet stops to reattack. Green pets can't really survive that if you are using him on hard mobs.
Pet hold aa is one of the most useful for this.
Once its used, it comes back. No reagroing each hit.
Also, FD, then send in pet, then pet hold. FD will allow you to be closer, good for closer corridors. Then once the pet is on pet hold, you can stand and run it back, without worrying about others in agro range joining in.
Make a hotkey for pet hold that includes 2 lines.
/pet hold
/pet back off
First one stops pet and calls it back to its guard spot or following you. Second one clears its hatelist.
The key is for all situations really. Especially good for problems. Say you don't have the back off line, and you agrod something by accident and had to fd it. Then when you kill something else, and use the pet, it will go agro the mobs it remembers hitting you.
Summary:
Hotkey for hold and back off.
FD, send in green pet, /pet hold.
