It's really simple if you get the hang of it. You have to go somewhere that mobs do not summon and also somewhere that preferably has multiple mobs that can be pulled at the same time. If you were going to charm kite 4 orcs around a campfire you would do the following. Agro all 4 at the same time and then, while kiting them, mez one. When you circle back around get close enough to the mez'd mob so you can cast a charm spell on it, but be careful to stay out of range of the other 3 you are kiting.
When the charm is on and the mez breaks you send the charmed mob at the other 3 so that they all are beating on him and his health is dropping quickly. Then before his health reaches 0% you need to make yourself invisible either with potions or songs or another method in order to break the charm. The closer to 0% the mob is the better because now you will need to do a /melody with your 4 strongest poison/disease/fire/cold dots to finish it off. If the mob is killed by the NPC's you will get no experience.
Then you just repeat this process over and over. It is incredibly fast once you get the hang of it. You can successfully solo huge crowds of mobs all at once. Some useful aa when you get higher are Selo's Sonata for instant cast Selo's and Extended Notes so your charm can reach farther. I read it over and it makes sense to me but if you need me to clarify something just ask ;].
