Classes: The Monk

Monks - masters of hand to hand damage. The monk is a powerful fighting class. With their unique set of skills and need to keep their weight load down, monks are a very complex class to develop and play correctly.

What is the best way to develop your monk? Which skills should the monk concentrate on learning? What is the best fighting style for a monk? Can a monk be soloed, and if so how? How should a monk be played within a group? How can a monk best use his skills? What weapons and armor should you try to get for your monk?

Post your strategies on how to best play and develop the Monk and read, rate and comment on what others have to say.

Thank you Pusbag. After searching this forum and others, I finally come across answers for my questions. Luckily, I'm only lvl 4 and I can now take my time to "polish" off those skills. ;)

I have set up hot keys on DW,2HB,fists and change to suit the fight i'm in . all my skills are maxed out , as long as you play your toon and don't power lvl him .yall be able to keep maxing them out before each lvl.and work on your FD . you'll need it more then any thing esle.it's a poor mans gate....

Max all your melee skills. You never know when a god-like weapon will fall into your lap and it might be 2HB or 1HB. Rotate your weapons. I would raise each one by 5 or 10 points then switch. Remember what combo is your best in case you get in a tight spot and need max dps, but otherwise stick to the rotation. Get a 100% WR bag to carry weapons (you should have one or two WR bags anyway). Augment your weapons with the new melee augs too.

Good advise is good advise regardless of when the question was asked. OP might not be around, but other monks might have the same question today :)

2019 is stopping in to say "Hi"!

No changes at this time. Always keep your skills maxed, you never know when being able to hold your liquor will keep you from becoming liquid.
