Classes: The Monk

Monks - masters of hand to hand damage. The monk is a powerful fighting class. With their unique set of skills and need to keep their weight load down, monks are a very complex class to develop and play correctly.

What is the best way to develop your monk? Which skills should the monk concentrate on learning? What is the best fighting style for a monk? Can a monk be soloed, and if so how? How should a monk be played within a group? How can a monk best use his skills? What weapons and armor should you try to get for your monk?

Post your strategies on how to best play and develop the Monk and read, rate and comment on what others have to say.

I don't know what the cap is exactly, but it's a 'soft' cap.
That means that once past a certain amount of raw AC (the number on your equipment) you start getting diminishing returns on each point.

Eg. (using fake numbers as an example)

If the Cap == 100

Every point of AC up to that mark is counted 100% (so 50 ac = 50 effective ac, 40= 40, etc)

Above that point, each point of AC would only count, say 75%. (so 40ac would = effective 30ac)

Your actual weight will effect your AC as well. At certain lvls your weight allowance changes ... and once into the AA grinding game you can add an ability to help cheat your allowed weight. iirc the allowed weight is between 18-24 stone weight so, you need to keep an eye on the items you equip.

Just for a little test stand at the Banker and put 5 pp in your pocket, keep adding 5 pp and watch your AC (total). Once you exceed your allowed weight for your lvl ... you will receive an AC penalty meaning -AC per stone weight over your allowance.

TSS raised the weight limit to 30 at lv75, and that's displayed AC rather than raw (the number on your items) AC which is what the softcap is effected on.
