Ok, so I really hope that people still read and post on these.
I had a friend ask me to return to EQ and he plays on the FV server. The first would be does anyone know if you can transfer a charecter to the Firona Via (RP) server? I have 63 Rogue there and it would save me a couple days. If not here are some more questions.
I know that I will probably level with the Defiant line of armor, its fairly cheap, easy to attain and dont need to search for five hours in the bazaar to try to max my stats. Does anyone have any recommendations on weapons that I could level with starting at level 1. Preferably a couple of each type that should be easy to find there? The rest of the gear I can just do a quick glance and figure out what I need from there. It has been about a year since I have played so I know some of the stuff, another question is attempting to get the racial gear worth it? It might affect the race that I play but i doubt it. One final question, does it still take years to level the poison making skill? Any advice/suggestions anyone has will be greatly appreciated. I tried posting on safehouse but waiting for a new account to be approved.

Answering what a I can here since I only know of rogues =P. There is no transferring to or from the FV server because of its rules as a roleplaying server, and because of various other things like most items being tradeable etc.
Defiant gear is a great thing especially for people coming back looking to update their old stuff. Racial armor is very nice and you can make it yourself, but if you plan on buying it you will find it can become very expensive. Regarding your race comment, play a race which you like best because nowadays races are just cosmetic with a few slight advantages here and there, but all your stats will be maxed and everything else.
Good news for a returning player: They have just a few weeks ago updated the poison making system and made new worldwide drops for poison making. It will still take time to make poisons but the new ones are more relevant to current play styles as they can be given to any player and are used as a 2 hour proc buff. So it will be more rewarding and less time consuming to do poison making in today's game.
