Classes: The Ranger

Rangers - Master trackers. With the skills of both a fighter and a druid, plus some unique skills of their own, rangers can be very difficult to develop and have a number of different ways to be played.

What is the best way to play a ranger? Can a ranger be soloed, and if so how? How should you play a ranger within a group? What spells and skills are the most important for the ranger? How can you develop your ranger to be the most effective? What equipment and armor should your ranger be looking for?

Post your strategies on how to best play and develop the Ranger and read, rate and comment on what others have to say.

Hey, folks, I decided to roll a ranger (on Stromm server), and want to know some advice if okay?

Mainly wanna know what aa's to do straight away?
Should I be updating my bow every few levels?
What is the best bow currently out there and could someone link them?
Are there any tradable bows I can farm quick on my mage (83) or rog (87) that would be useful right away?
How hard is the epics supposed to be?
Can I farm the epic pieces before the dialogue?
How soon can I farm them?
What about kiting?
What is best way to kite? Snare + dot + bow maybe? Or should I add fear after snare?
What is the best place for kiting?
What are best zones for solo / moloing at the moment?
Should I stick with Serpent Spine line or go ahead back to the newest Hot Zones?

Um... I think that's it.... If can get an answer to those, along with any additional info, that'd be awesome and very much appreciated. Thank you.

I'm gonna answer the ones that I can right now.

First AA's you wanna get are at 51, innate dex (unless already capped), innate regen, and innate run-speed. At 59 you wanna get EQ (Endless Quiver) and Archery Mastery. At 56 you start getting Hunters Attack Power initially and don't have to spend AA's on it.

I would be upgrading my bow about every 10 levels. When you finally get EQ, buy a CLASS 9 Steel Shardpoint Arrow because you don't use arrows

Lol, well If you can find a Oakwynd and can afford one then you should get one, but you could prob farm a Bow of the Destroyer (17 Delay) but if not, the defiant should work. At 5 look for disgruntled boawb and get a free simple defiant bow.

Epic is not hard at all. very minimal effort involved if you have a 70+ shadowing you.only real hard part I remember is getting Inny up

best way to kite I find is just rooting the mob and doting it. sadly you cant nuke, but you don't have to worry about adds. Before 55 you can use a Tank merc to keep the mobs attention while you beat it down.

I would keep with the SS zones and avoid hotzones.

That's all I can think of right now.
