Classes: The Ranger

Rangers - Master trackers. With the skills of both a fighter and a druid, plus some unique skills of their own, rangers can be very difficult to develop and have a number of different ways to be played.

What is the best way to play a ranger? Can a ranger be soloed, and if so how? How should you play a ranger within a group? What spells and skills are the most important for the ranger? How can you develop your ranger to be the most effective? What equipment and armor should your ranger be looking for?

Post your strategies on how to best play and develop the Ranger and read, rate and comment on what others have to say.

Does using a fleeting or tailored quiver still boost bow haste if the AA skill Endless Quiver is being used?

Do I need to have 2 of the same arrow? (One in the ammo slot and one in the quiver itself?)

After a quick test can confirm

That Fleeting Quiver does work with EQ haste wise

You do need an arrow in slot and bag.

For greater bow dps would say that

Trickshot should be maxed as soon as possible

The bow spell line culminating in Barrage of Arrows should be followed

Do not forget Headshot as you work through the ranks many opportunities become available. Sony has strange ideas about what is a humanoid. It is always good to see a mob fold

Just to further clarify, quiver haste (1/3 x quiver weight reduction) stacks with *all* other forms of haste; including haste from spells, from items, and from bard songs that provide overhaste.

You only need to have the quiver in your inventory to get the haste benefit from it; you DO NOT need to have one in your arrow slot and one in your quiver. EQ works by preventing the arrow in your ammo slot from being consumed, period.
