Thinks to ask rangers
Ask if they need to get Aego before going in out door zones just in case it rains and they start losing HP.
Ask them if they've made a "/consent" hotkey yet to save time.

pretty funny..... lol my main's a lvl 27 rgr.... he can tank just fine :( lol good jokes though.... yeah, I agree w/ the last guy.... rangers arent a joke anymore

I've been playing a ranger for the last 3 years ---on and off. I just came back to the game a couple of weeks ago after a 7 month absence.
I keep hearing that rangers are no longer a joke. Then why does my fine looking 51 ranger still get no reply to her LFG's?
My 35 warrior on the other hand has no problem?
What has changed for rangers? So far I don't see it?

yes yes yes , i heard them all, though funny a few times it does get boring like after 200 times. go log some fight with a few hunters. and ull see rangers deal an awful amount of dmg. on most mobs me bow and arrows keep me out of ae dmg. so im totaly healer mana free dps. if ranger does aggro control properly it means in every raid or group where he can shoot he will be last toon standing. At least i am in our guildraids. shooting give very low aggro while doing more dps as mellee. and we can tank (depending on gear that is) with my ranger and a good slower i can tank at pov outer without any probs having 5khp.
Bah sorry but someone got to say something positive about rangers sometimes, they are a decent class. not as loved as the clr but we can hold our own against any class

Not really relevant to me, since I'm an archer and generally the last to go down, if I do. Then again, after I got SoW at 30, the "ranger dies first" jokes really didn't apply anymore anyway. But the jokes keep hanging around, guess they always will. Makes you stop and wonder why, doesn't it?

Wow, you know I tank better than most warriors my level... know why? Unlike them I can hold the aggro and heal myself after fights, I SAVE the cleric mana. Time to get out of yer pre-Luclin world and start worshipping me, boy.

I think it's the levels, not the classes, I seem to be able to get groups with my 30's toons much easier than my 50's toons, then again, almost everyone wants a basis group of tank and healer and warrior and cleric seem to come to everyone's mind first *shrug*
hahahahahahahaha even tho i hate to say it those were pretty funny. i'm just gonna repeat everyone else cause theres nothing else to say... rangeres have changed... and i'm always the last to die =) good post tho made me laugh

lol that was funny, and ill admit it, i do die alot... but thats because of all the great tanks out there that cant keep AGRO!!, and its up to the ranger to save the casters, thats why we die!!!

In my server everyone says Rangers are cool, but I play in a PvP team.
those are pretty funny.
But on a good side for rangers. I get calls all the time to Tank in GE becuase the warriors and pallys cant keep aggro. The last 4 or 5 levels I have been puller main tank.(if i could just come up with a ddamn tank that could keep aggro i could chain pull). I think it also depends on how the toon is played not on the toon itself. I actually saw a Necro with very good gear tank a mob till i good get aggro off cleric and get back to him.

Hehe Rangers kick butt, week ago raid leader said he wanted to finish Stone Ring in PoE fast cuz it was late. I loaded up my new summoned mob nuke and chain casted the entire event. Needless to say 1k to 2k nukes got me agro quick even tanked the 2 named mobs during the event without a death, my gear is mostly EP but I have all my defensive AA up to lvl 1 in OoW. Rangers can tank but sometimes healers won't bother to heal an offtanker while they are in CH rotation, no matter how good you are only as good as the healer behind you when mobs can hit for up to 2k, hence why sometimes even 12k MA will drop like a rock.

I am a lvl 8 halfing Ranger and almost everyone in my guild is a Ranger.
Funny jokes,Ranger is actually an exellent class.i think the problem with them is the players. they take the whole "part warrior" desription waaay too seriously.Forget Warrior,just forget it! in my humble opinion ranger is more like half druid / half rogue than half war.Rangers are the casters best friend,looking at their spells and utilities it makes since.
ranger healing spells don't heal much hp.Casters don't have much hp.rangers taunt is exellent,better than warriors taunts,better to peel mobs off those high damaging or aggroing casters.just remember your not a warrior. warrior = tank. and ranger + tanking = corpse run. Personally i love the class ,but those jokes were great!

I am sitting in the tavern minding my own business.To my left I hear a muttered" stinking rangers are useless ".Hmm I think to myself,wasnt that the same guy I saw running from that frog?Probly forgot I snared it so he could get away.
I finnish my ale and leave.
Walking to the bank I am aproached buy a small group of adventures."Hail ranger,we seek your aid in finding a horrid beast that roams the Burning Woods.Being up for adventure I agree,and we head out.
Upon reaching our destination,I read from my book and memorise some spells that increase our chances of success and speed our travel time.
I am asked if I can find the whereabouts of a certain wurm.Surveying the ground I picked up the track imeadiatly and camo those that need it .Following these tracks without being detected by other beasts that would delay our journey we come at last to our quarry.He is alone and we strike.I shoot many arrows into the beast,my bow draining its armor and adding it to mine,A few well placed shots seem to hurt it pretty bad .Taking up my blades I join the fray, The warrior is holding his own but streaming blood,our healer is sweating profusly as he calls out he is running low on mana,I cast a spell to root the beast and call out for the warrior to break his attack for a moment and i heal him a decent amount.The roots break and the beast lunges forward,It is badly hurt.we engage again.Noticing I'ts health is about gone I cast a fire spell on it, The beast drops.
I notice another wurm headed towards us and harmonise it before it decides we would be a decent lunch.We have achieved our goal and I feel we did a decent job.I thank them for the group and we part ways.
Later that day I happen upon the same group and over hear one of em make a comment."why don't rangers have feign death? It's because the fall would kill them"

I agree that there is nothing that can compete with a Ranger trying to hold aggro day in and day out - casters can overnuke and die but Rangers can certainly out-aggro most Tanks their level unless they use Jolt alot when they get over level 50. Saidly this ability is often why most Rangers never make it over level 60 except as fillin 6th players for a full group.

Have used GREEN armor tint for a long time, 67 ranger, maybe silver green so i can find my corpse at sommoners with all the other [rangers] corpses. j/k lol

Anyway i used to play EQ and am looking foward to starting againn Ieft my account with a level 40 RNG. He was pretty pathetic. HP sucked. STR sucked. I was a total noob to this guy at the begining and totally screwed his starts up. Not knowing what stats to build on ETC. I died 24/7 with my rubbish duel weilding ETC. Damn was a ****! But guess what i loved him to bits.
Now wanting to rejoin EQ im gonna go for making another RNG. Knowing where i have gone wrong i can improve. ADVICE. Dont jump into making a ranger when first starting off. Do something more appertising. Like a WAR!
