Classes: The Warrior

Warriors - the tank class. Combining a powerful offense with a strong defense, warriors are best suited to slugging it out toe to toe with the monsters they face.

What is the best way to develop and play your warrior? What skills are the most useful for a warrior to develop and master? Can a warrior be soloed, and if so how? How should the warrior be played within a group? What weapons and armor whould the warrior seek out?

Post your strategies on how to best play and develop the Warrior and read, rate and comment on what others have to say.

I'm looking for suggestions on 2-handers.

I am a 42 Vah Shir Warrior (on Tunare). Sadly, I have neglected skill in 2H.

Should I bother? (From other threads in this forum, I'm thinking, yes).

Should I go with edged or blunt or piercing? (thinking, edged).

Can someone recommend a 2H weapon with a lower delay that I could use to skill up?

I don't have a lot of money to spend, not in a guild, and don't have a reliable regular group. My 1H slash is max'd. I'm bringing up 1H blunt (160) and piercing (140).

Thanks for any suggestions,

OK, nevermind the original questions :-) Here's an update. I solo'd spectres and elite sand giants working on 2H slash as well as 1H slash, 1H blunt, and 1H piercing. At 50th level, all of these weapon skills are above 200. 1H slash and Taunt are still max'd. Archery and Kick are close to 200. Bash and Disarm ... not so good. Going to keep concentrating on them for the next couple of levels.

I'm surprised I was able to take 2H slash from 10 to over 200 so fast. Must have something to do with a max'd DEX. By the way, I used an Ornate Rune Blade to get there. Fast for a 2H-er with good damage, then switched to an Intricate Defiant Greatsword at 48th level.

So here's a new question ... is it worth the effort to try to skill up 2H blunt and/or 2H piercing? And should I bother learning hand-to-hand?

I hope you warriors dont mind that a Ranger is hi-jacking
your forum...

I would say a well rounded tank is a better tank.
You never know what new weapon is going to come your way
or what proc or stats it might have on it.

Don't forget there is an AA skill called "Punishing Blade" which is for
two hand weapons... I'm not sure if its slashing only *shrug*
and I'm not sure Warriors get it, but I assume they do.

Should either be a priority? That I don't know. I would stick with
whatever your best skill is and best weapon combo. Its also good
to have a variety of combinations for different encounters.

I use bandolier and bounce between combos' that I like.

Just my 2cp.
