Classes: The Warrior

Warriors - the tank class. Combining a powerful offense with a strong defense, warriors are best suited to slugging it out toe to toe with the monsters they face.

What is the best way to develop and play your warrior? What skills are the most useful for a warrior to develop and master? Can a warrior be soloed, and if so how? How should the warrior be played within a group? What weapons and armor whould the warrior seek out?

Post your strategies on how to best play and develop the Warrior and read, rate and comment on what others have to say.

when a mob enrages everyone in front of him needs to turn off attack. Those behind him are safe, as long as they don't steal agro. If you have a monk in the group with his level 70 aura "ON", this will actually protect you from enrage as well, and you can leave attack on.

I have an audio trigger set up to remind me about enraged mobs. Not too helpful with raid mobs who would wipe you out before you can turn off attack, but on regular group mobs it seems to cut my damage down significantly.
Din't know the Monk aura did that.

this is why healers hate allot of tanks, they refuse to turn off attack. Yes sometimes a healer can keep you alive, but as you gain some levels or even get into raiding, all you will do is die. Its just such a simple thing to do and it shows that you know how to play your class, just turn off attack until you get the no longer enraged message. On raids I always turn off my attack even if I am not the mt, it reenforces a good habit, and if the mt eats it, mob won't flip on you and kill you right away.

Ayuh, good habit indeed. Nothing like seeing a /tell from your healer letting you know that you get a free rez after plowing enrage. Is best to turn off attack and try to remember to turn mob if needed. Many post rez debriefs will not include award ceremonies for the fallen.

The Fortitude disc protects against all incoming damage including the enrage riposte damage. Furious will riposte the directly incoming attacks from the mob, so you will take less damage, but it does not block the ripostes from you still swinging your weapons if you do not turn off attack.
So - Fortitude disc or monk aura will let you keep attack on through enrage with no ill effect. Other than that, turn off attack or ride it out and hope for the best.
A previous post suggested an audio trigger - excellent idea, helps a ton. i use "has become enraged" in the trigger, and while that also goes off when nearby pets enrage, it wakes me up :P

For your DPS groupies - now that the melee push has been greatly reduced, they can all stay behind the mob and avoid enrage without the monster being pushed out of healer range.
